Dr. KukhwaRyu has been practicing dentistry in California for more than ten years with passion and care. She and her husband fell in love with the Redwoods and the North Coast, and now consider Eureka one of the most beautiful and peaceful places to live.Dentistry continues to fulfill her goals of serving people in her community, wherever that may be.
Dr. Ryus close attention to detail, combined with her cheerful and compassionate spirit, is something she delivers to all her patients. She is very family-oriented and dedicated to providing the highest quality of care and practice to her community.Throughout her career, Dr. Ryu has participated in many Continuing Education courses, especially those focused on cosmetic dentistry and endodontic treatments. She is a member of the American Dental Association, California Dental Association, and the Humboldt County Dental Association.
Being a lover of nature and the outdoors, Eureka is the ideal home for Dr.Ryu. She regularly hikes in the mountains or runs on the shores of beaches with her husband and their dog Daisy. She has come to embrace her new community and hopes to make a positive impact on those around her.Dr. Ryu is very excited to meet you in person, and hopes to help you attain a healthy and beautiful smile!

It has been 5 Years since Dr. Ryu saved my lower front teeth by rebuilding the lower and upper. Most dentists would have gone with the porcelain fused to metal but Dr. Ryu took the extra time and patience to make full use of porcelain. My smile looks as good now as then. No black metal lines! Thank you Dr. Ryu! Very competent and talented. Her first concern is patient comfort. If any pain is noted the procedure is stopped until pain is controlled. Her results are excellent! Personable and friendly.

Dr. Ryu is a great dentist but I am giving this office two stars because they switched from being covered under my dental insurance to not and didn't tell me until AFTER my appointment which was $196 I had to pay out of packet and should have been free covered from insurance. I find it extremely unprofessional to not inform their patients that their insurance will not longer be covered.

They took me in when no other dental place would. I got a tooth extraction and it was done efficiently and they were very flexible with my schedule. The staff is nice and I will be coming back here if I need more teeth pulled

I had a bridge done by Dr. Ryu, among other work, she is compassionate and professional, the staff is friendly and very helpful. She made sure that my teeth looked the best possible, and I couldn't be happier to have my smile back. I could not ask for a better experience. Thank you Dr. Ryu!

I ended up far away from my dentist and hygienist and it took me awhile to find another one. I was VERY unhappy with that one and left soon because of being constantly pushed to get costly procedures that seemed unnecessary and were way beyond my budget. So I've gone several years without dental care, until I got to know Dr Ryu on a hike to Fern Canyon and decided to try again. She has been Wonderful! She's very gentle and not judgemental or pushy, which is so nice when you haven't had care for several years. I recommend Dr Ryu and her team 100%!

Dr. Ryu is the best dentist I have been to in Humboldt County! Much better than the two others I visited during the last few years. Dr. Ryu's attention to detail, great communication, and friendly manner make me feel comfortable and safe being in her care. The entire office is always clean and welcoming, and everyone working there (including Dr. Ryu, the receptionists, the hygienists, and the dental assistants) are all friendly and informative. This is the perfect place for affordable and quality dental care. Thank you, Dr. Ryu!

I was nervous about getting my first root canal. I had some bad experiences with fillings at other dentists. Plus, the nerve of the infected tooth was curved, so I thought an endodontist would be needed. I was especially apprehensive because Dr. Ryu didn't offer nitric oxide for pain - but it wasn't needed! The procedure went smoothly and only took about an hour. The most painful part of the procedure was getting a few tiny shots in my gums. I've had fillings that were way more painful! Dr. Ryu and her colleagues were very kind, calming and skilled. I'm really glad I came to her.
