Dr. Robert Kubo decided at an early age to follow the career of his father, Dr. Sumio Kubo, into the field of orthodontics. It was a career that drew himnot only because it gave him the opportunity to improve the quality of life of others, but also because it gave him the chance to build relationships with families in his community.

Dr. Kubo treats each patient as a friend and is truly interested in peopleslives beyond their orthodontic visits. It is this, coupled with the old-school values and modern technology, thathas keptfamilies coming back to Kubo Orthodontic Group for generations.

Always ready and willing to implement new techniques to provide the highest quality of orthodontic care and outcomes for his patients, Dr. Kubo keeps current in the orthodontic field by attending many forms of continuing education meetings and seminars.

Dr. Kubo is a firm believer in giving back to the community that has supported him over the years. He has been honored to serve on both the Foundation and Governing boards at Valley Childrens Hospital. He was chairman of the board for two years and has supported the organization for more than18 years. Dr. Kubo is on the board of directors of Fresno First Bank, and theCambridge Court homewners association, and supports many other community organizations as well.

In his spare time, Dr. Kubo loves to cheer for his favorite teams, including the San Francisco Giants, 49ers, Golden State Warriors, Fresno State Bulldogs, and UCLA Bruins!. To relax, Dr. Kubo finds peace in nature and flyfishing in the great outdoors.

James D. Kubo, DDS, offers gentle, professional orthodontic treatments to his patients in and around Fresno. He believes in treating his patients as he would his family, with compassion and tenderness, while providing exemplary orthodontic care.

Dr. Kubo enjoys his time with his patients, and getting to know each of them as a person, not just as an orthodontic patient in the practice. He is always ready to sit and talk for a bit, to reassurenew patients about the orthodontic process and makesure they understand what is going to happen and why.

In addition, Dr. Kubo keeps abreast of the latest developments in orthodontic treatments and options by avidly pursuing continuing education courses. He knows it is imperative to keep uptodate on the newest techniques and ideas in order to provide the best options for his patients.

An active member of his community, Dr. Kubo has served as the chairman of the board of the Fresno Betsuin Buddhist Temple. His church provides community outreach with visits to assisted living communities, the Poverello House, and others. Also, the church sponsors both a Girl Scout troop and a Boy Scout troop. He has served as President of the Central California Distric Council and President of the University of California, San Francisco Orthodontic Alumni Foundation.

A native of Kerman, Dr. Kubo now calls Fresno his home. In fact, he has lived most of his life here, except for six years away pursuing his dental and orthodontics education. He lives with his wifeJenny, with whom he has two lovely daughters. The family also shares their home with two dogs, Cookie and Yuki, as well as three cats named Mochi, Luna and Oliver.

When hes not spending time with his family, or cheering on his daughters atdance competitions, Dr. Kubo loves sports. He is a longtime fan of Fresno State, UCLA,the San Francisco Giants, the San Francisco 49ers, and the Golden State Warriors.

Ive been an assistant at Kubo Orthodontic Group for more than 23 years. I love the hands-on aspect of my job, because it allows me to really get to know our patients. Ive been married to my high school sweetheart Scott since 1978. We have one son Corey who lives in Scottsdale with his fianc Rachel. In my free time, I love camping, playing golf, RVing with our friends, riding on the back of Scotts Harley, and riding quads in the sand dunes and desert.
