I get great enjoyment from my profession. I understand that going to the dentist for most people is not their most favorite activity, but I make every effort to treat people the way I would treat my own family. My goal is to make their experience the best dental experience they have ever had.
One of the greatest parts of my day is interacting with so many people from such diverse walks of life. Each person I meet gives me a unique perspective on the lives of those around me. Seeing the world through my patients eyes is something I look forward to each and every day.
I believe continuing education is crucial for keeping up with the latest advances in dentistry. In order to provide the best patient care, I continue my studies in all facets of general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry.
Being active in the community is a big part of my life, both personally and professionally. For ten years, I wasthe dental coordinator for Give Kids a Smile in Catawba County for, and was a key member of the team that organized the Hickory Missions of Mercy dental clinic in June 2012.
I have also volunteered for the North Carolina Baptist Mens Dental Bus for local elementary schools. I am a member of First Baptist Church-Hickory where I am a deacon, serve on the financecommittee,and volunteer in other areas of ministry.
My husband Jasonand I met in dental school andwere married in August 2006. Jason is an orthodontist with Hamilton & Herring Orthodontics in Hickory.Our two children, Josh and Amelia, keep my hands full when Im not at work. Josh is in the 6th grade and Amelia is in the 4thgrade at Hickory Christian Academy.They are super involved in church activities, sports,and music.
I enjoy running, biking, and spending time with my family and friends. For my tenth year in practice, in 2016, I ran my first Tar Heel 10 Miler road race in Chapel Hill! The most important job I have every day is being a great Mom. That means striving to be a great person and letting them see the love and generosity that comes from that.

I joined Dr. Herrings team as a dental assistant in 2008. In 2013, I became the office manager. I love working with all of our patients and it is my goal to make everyone in our office feel important and appreciated. Most of the time, I enjoy the daily challenges that the insurance industry brings. I take great pride in making insurance companies give our patients the benefits they deserve. At home, I enjoy art and playing with my three dogs. I am an avid sports enthusiast. I love the Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers, Alabama, and Derek Jeter! My husband Rich and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in June 2017. Our son attends the University of Alabama!
I assist Dr. Herring with all treatments related to patient care, instrument sterilization, and inventory. My job involves working with people on a one-on-one basis and building relationships with them so they feel comfortable in our office. Dr. Herring is a very caring, honest, and generous person. She always looks out for her patients and employees best interests. The past six years have been great, and I look forward to many more to come!
I began working with Dr. Herring in 2008, shortly after graduating from CVCC, and I migrated with her when she opened her own practice. I enjoy seeing my patients walk out the door with a smile on their faces. They are like a second family to me; its always nice to clean their teeth, but I enjoy catching up with them at their recall visits.
