I get great enjoyment from my profession. I understand that going to the dentist for most people is not their most favorite activity, but I make every effort to treat people the way I would treat my own family. My goal is to make their experience the best dental experience they have ever had.
One of the greatest parts of my day is interacting with so many people from such diverse walks of life. Each person I meet gives me a unique perspective on the lives of those around me. Seeing the world through my patients eyes is something I look forward to each and every day.
I believe continuing education is crucial for keeping up with the latest advances in dentistry. In order to provide the best patient care, I continue my studies in all facets of general, cosmetic, and restorative dentistry.
Being active in the community is a big part of my life, both personally and professionally. For ten years, I wasthe dental coordinator for Give Kids a Smile in Catawba County for, and was a key member of the team that organized the Hickory Missions of Mercy dental clinic in June 2012.
I have also volunteered for the North Carolina Baptist Mens Dental Bus for local elementary schools. I am a member of First Baptist Church-Hickory where I am a deacon, serve on the financecommittee,and volunteer in other areas of ministry.
My husband Jasonand I met in dental school andwere married in August 2006. Jason is an orthodontist with Hamilton & Herring Orthodontics in Hickory.Our two children, Josh and Amelia, keep my hands full when Im not at work. Josh is in the 6th grade and Amelia is in the 4thgrade at Hickory Christian Academy.They are super involved in church activities, sports,and music.
I enjoy running, biking, and spending time with my family and friends. For my tenth year in practice, in 2016, I ran my first Tar Heel 10 Miler road race in Chapel Hill! The most important job I have every day is being a great Mom. That means striving to be a great person and letting them see the love and generosity that comes from that.

I joined Dr. Herrings team as a dental assistant in 2008. In 2013, I became the office manager. I love working with all of our patients and it is my goal to make everyone in our office feel important and appreciated. Most of the time, I enjoy the daily challenges that the insurance industry brings. I take great pride in making insurance companies give our patients the benefits they deserve. Dr. Herring and our team strive to be the Greatest Dental Practice in NC. I love being part of this team!
At home, I enjoy art and playing with my three dogs. I am an avid sports enthusiast. I love the Yankees, Pittsburgh Steelers, Alabama, and Derek Jeter! My husband Rich and I celebrated our 20th anniversary in June 2017. Our son attends the University of Alabama!
I assist Dr. Herring with all treatments related to patient care, instrument sterilization, and inventory. My job involves working with people on a one-on-one basis and building relationships with them so they feel comfortable in our office. Dr. Herring is a very caring, honest, and generous person. She always looks out for her patients and employees best interests. The past six years have been great, and I look forward to many more to come!
I began working with Dr. Herring in 2008, shortly after graduating from CVCC, and I migrated with her when she opened her own practice. I enjoy seeing my patients walk out the door with a smile on their faces. They are like a second family to me; its always nice to clean their teeth, but I enjoy catching up with them at their recall visits.
I enjoy working with Dr. Herring because she understands the importance of having a team. She listens to our opinions and takes all of us into consideration when making decisions. I enjoy working with the girls; we work well together. Having a reliable dental team makes my job enjoyable.

We love this office! Everyone here is extremely kind and professional! Dr. Herring is the only dentist I have ever seen to be able to numb me up for a filling and my mouth not hurt for days afterwards. All of the staff here deliver top notch work! Highly recommend!

I have been coming here for several years. The staff here are exceptional all around. I've had the same dental assistant the entire time I've been coming here and I counldn't be happier with the quality work she does on what teeth I have left. My only grip is my actual dentist here always seems like she's always in a hurry. Fast in fast out. Now I'm not looking for anything special. But as i see it, a typical semi annual visit cost $160 for about 45 minutes in the chair. I would say 42 minutes are spent with the dental assistant. And maybe, 3 minutes with the actual dentist. We live in a world where everything goes so fast. In my 60 years I've learned there are two places that I (expect) my caregivers to take their time. One is my doctor the other is my dentist. I don't want them missing something on me because they're more concerned with getting to the next patient. Lets make a deal. Lets try 4 minutes next time I'm in your chair instead of 3. See you in July. Bill

I want to start with when I made the appointment. The office help were very professional and extremely kind and considerate.The whole process was very pleasurable. Dr. Herring was kind and caring about my needs. She explained my x-rays and what could be done and what couldn't. As a whole the whole experience was pleasurable. I would recommend them to anybody.

I just had my biannual cleaning and check up. The Dental hygienist, Natasha, is very sweet and did a fantastic job. Dr Herring can always be depended upon to be accurate, honest and thorough.

Dr. Herring has been our family's dentist and friend for almost 15 years. Kristen and her team are fabulous! They treat each person with great care. They have been part of our family's growth and know each one of us (8) personally. They all care greatly and provide wonderful dental and human care. Amber is the best dental hygienist I have ever had. It is more like a tooth massage than teeth cleaning.

Everyone that I've interacted with here, has been personable and extremely pleasant. The office is comfortable and very clean. I never have trouble getting appointments. Their appointment reminder system is incredibly helpful. I always feel comfortable and welcome there.

Dr Herring is a wonderful Dentist. Very kind, compassionate, and treats you like family. Dr Herring and her staff make sure you understand your treatment and makes sure your comfortable. I'm 58 and have gone to the dentist twice a year my whole life. Dr Herring is the best dentist I've ever been too.
