Christie was born and raised in Cambridge, MD and received her degree in Dental Hygiene from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2000. Christie has been the hygienist at Krause Smiles since 2004! She resides in Salisbury with her tech-savvy husband and her pampered cat, Scarlett (who may be getting a life jacket). Our patients may be surprised to know she LOVES all things Elvis and is an avid lover of boating, hence Scarlett's life jacket. She can make amazing cakes and prides herself on her love of early prevention and positive oral hygiene in even the youngest of her patients.
Amanda is usually in the back helping Dr. Mark fix teeth! When Amanda isnt dental assisting, youll catch her in the gym (she never skips leg day!) or on the couch snuggled between her two puppers browsing Targets latest and greatest deals. Amanda and Cristian have two pitty fur babies named Roxy and Cooper. Opposites definitely attract, as Roxy and Cooper couldnt be more different, but they round out their family perfectly!
Carrie is joining our team as an Eastern Shore native with ten years of dental experience! While dentistry is truly a passion of hers, you can also find her curled up with the latest Stephen King story or binge watching the latest series on Netflix with her wife and daughter! If you see a camper in the parking lot, dont worryCarrie is just prepared to go on her next trip to Toms Cove with her family and their pups Sara and Hartley in tow (dont forget the smores)! Her family is completed with two more fur babies, kitty cats named Griffin and Luna.
Autumn is a recent graduate of Salisbury University in Communication Arts and is most likely the one that greets you on the phone or when checking out or talking you through the Patient Portal. She certainly keeps this office running. Patients may find it funny that Autumn is an 80 year old in a 23 year old body! She enjoys reading, visiting thrift stores, and can tell you the name of a font just by looking at it. Did you know she used to be a patient here??? She lives just outside of Salisbury and you can often find her car parked at an angle as she was probably late arriving to work.
Dr. Mark is a general dentist concentrating his practice on children ages 1-21 and patients with special needs of all ages. His goal is to create a caring dental home ensuring patients receive the best possible care. The focus on educating patients on proper dental care, early detection and prevention is our top priority at Krause Smiles.
During Dr. Marks undergrad at Salisbury University he trained under the tutelage of his father, becoming a graduate of SU in 1999. He encouraged his passion for dentistry and treating children of all ages. He then completed a two year General Practice Residency at the University of Rochester/Strong Memorial Hospital. During his second year, Dr. Mark focused his training treating both children and patients with special needs in a clinical, as well as a hospital setting. Ultimately, he received his dental degree from Howard University College of Dentistry.
Dr. Mark is a past president of the Eastern Shore Dental Society. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Southeastern Society of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Maryland State Dental Association, The Salisbury Dental Study Club and the Gnathos Orthodontic Study Club. He continues to educate himself and keeps up to date with evidence-based dentistry on treatment of children by attending extensive courses throughout the year.

From 2011 until his return to the practice Dr. Mark served the community as a staff dentist for Three Lower Counties (TLC), now Chesapeake HealthCare in Princess Anne, Maryland. He was proud to be the dental director from February of 2013 to October of 2015. Dr. Mark and his wife enjoy spending time with family and friends. They have an interest in music, biking, the beach and travel.

They do not let you accompany your child for any of their services.

While the staff is very friendly, the fillings do not last. My daughter had two fillings done the summer of 2019, and they fell out two months ago. These fillings were extremely expensive, to the tune of $3,500. I highly don't recommend having fillings done at this establishment unless you want to return less than two years later and have crowns put on instead of fillings.

We were reffered to Krause Smiles because my 11 year old daughters dentist could not (even though shes listed to) do the reconstruction of her bottom teeth after a freak accident that knocked 1 bottom front tooth out and damaged 2 others. Krause refered us to an amazing endodontist for her 2 root canals and has proceeded to plan her reconstruction for next week. The team at Krause Smiles is so pleasant and they work hard to make your experience easy and stress free. Look forward to our next appointments and seeing what they do with her reconstruction!!!

My daughter's first visit here. She said she really liked the environment. Everything was great! I liked how everything was explained thoroughly. My daughter said she liked how everyone talked to her while getting her teeth cleaned. Thanks for the wonderful service and we will be back again. Loved the fish themed waiting area.!!!!!!

Our regular dentist was closed when our daughter had some trauma to her teeth. The receptionist was so helpful and not only got us in immediately but called me right back to let me know they could see us. The whole visit was fast and the staff was amazing. Dr. Krause was incredibly down to earth and really made us feel comfortable.

I remember having a great experience here with Dr. Jerry as a kid. Now, I am taking my children to see Dr. Mark and he is just as great as his dad was. The entire staff is welcoming and friendly. I high;y recommend!

Staff is extremely pleasant & always smiling. Everyone is very knowledgeable & willing to answer any questions. Everything at the end of the visit is explained in great detail. My four sons absolutely LOVE coming here. In fact they love it so much, they're upset when it's time to leave!

The staff are very kind and patient as well as being terrific at their job. As a mom bringing in one-year-old twins who, quite understandably, lost their minds during the teeth cleaning, the staff was absolutely amazing. They held and distracted the twin who wasn't having her teeth cleaned, and they were gentle but efficient with the twin who was having her teeth cleaned. And then they had to do it all over again! Highly recommend. And now that the girls are 2 1/2, there is much less crying all around.

Great atmosphere. My daughter is very finicky with doctors but she wasn't this time. The staff was very informative and addressed every concern i had as far as my daughter's teeth. They treated us so well, i kind of want to call her old dentist and tell them to definitely step their game up because they suck. GREAT JOB KRAUSE SMILES

I can't say anything but great things about Krause smiles!!! Dr Mark and all his staff are absolutely wonderful!! They make going to the dentist a fun experience for children, not something they dread! I would recommend them to anyone in need of a pediatric dentist!!!

My daughter went for her first dentist appoint at 21 months old and the whole experience from making our appointment, completing paperwork to seeing Dr. Krause was awesome. My daughter loved he office and the staff was great with her and answered all the questions me and my husband had.
