Dr. Lance Kovar is known throughout the community for providing compassionate and professional dental care to his patients. He has a gentle touch and thoroughly explains all treatment before beginning. Dr. Kovar is particularly skilled at calming dental phobic patients. He sets them at ease by listening to their concerns and providing reassurance that they can let go of their anxiety. With todays advancements in painless dental techniques, his patients soon learn that a dental visit is nothing to fear.

This commitment to patient care and comfort extends to every member of Dr. Kovars dental team. Everyone from the front office staff to the dental hygienists and assistants all work seamlessly together to deliver exceptional dental care to all patients.

Dr. Kovar has also pursued a comprehensive course of study in the management of complex restorative cosmetic dentistry through the William C. Strupp Postgraduate School of Dentistry and a mini-residency in the restoration of complex dental implants through BioMet3i. Additionally, he pursues continuing education offerings at conferences, seminars, and lectures, knowing that advancing his knowledge and staying on the leading edge of developments in dentistry allows him to provide the most effective care for his patients

A lifelong Texan, Dr. Kovar grew up in Caldwell, TX. He and his wife, Heidi, have four children: Landon, Rylan, Madalyn, and Noah. As his family has grown, he has become increasingly active in fundraising and community activities for St. Marys Catholic School. He also sponsors and coaches some of their extracurricular activities, includingbaseball and softball. Dr. Kovars great passion is for his children. He strives to raise them to become thoughtful, active, and compassionate individuals. In his spare time, Dr. Kovar also enjoys outdoor activities such as camping, fishing, and hunting.

Believing in giving back, Dr. Kovar has volunteered at the Good Samaritan Clinic and also works alongside other dental providers to provide quality dental care to patients that would otherwise be unable to afford care. He also works with Community Needs Council in assisting families and individuals obtain dental services.

Dr. Heidi Kovar was born in St. Paul, Minnesota and has lived in Wisconsin, Washington, and New York. She moved to Texas with her family in 1991. As a child, she also spent numerous summers in Taipei, Taiwan with her extended family where she learned to speak Mandarin Chinese.

Dr. Kovar graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems. After undergrad, she attended Texas A&M University Baylor College of Dentistry and received her doctorate of dental surgery degree. While in dental school, she met her future husband and practice partner, Dr. Lance Kovar.

Shortly after graduation, she and her husband moved to Fredericksburg because they wanted to live in a small town where they could raise a family. They have been married for over 15 years and have four children: Landon, Rylan, Madalyn, and Noah.

Dr. Kovar enjoys helping patients improve their oral health through education and state-of-the-art dentistry. She believes in the benefits of exceptional dental care and its ability to change lives. In the office part-time, you may see her fulfilling a variety of roles from treating patients to helping to answer the phones. Dr. Kovar also enjoys spending time in classrooms talking to pre-k and elementary school children about proper oral healthcare.

She holds memberships in the following professional organizations: American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association, and the Heart of Texas Dental Society. Dr. Kovar also attends numerous continuing education classes in order to utilize additional knowledge for the benefit of her patients.

Outside the office, you may see Dr. Kovar volunteering at St. Marys Catholic School where herfour children attend school. She has served as acouncil member on St. Mary's School Council in the past and is currently a trustee for the Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country. Passionate about her faith, Dr. Kovar and her family are active members of St. Marys Catholic Church.

Veronica graduated from the hygiene program at Del Mar College in 1984. She moved to the Fredericksburg area shortly afterwards and has a strong patient following; some patients refuse to let anyone but her clean their teeth! With our office from the beginning, Veronica tends to our patients oral hygiene needs in order to help them achieve an ideal state of oral health. She enjoys the relationships she has developed with her patients and the camaraderie she has with her coworkers. Veronica is married to her best friend, Brent. They love to travel near or far when time allows.

A Fredericksburg native, Melissa graduated from the hygiene program at Del Mar College in 1999. She began her career as a hygienist in San Antonio and just recently moved back to Fredericksburg to be closer to friends and family. She enjoys interacting with patients and helping them improve their oral health. She loves theoutdoors and has a goal of visiting all the National Parks and also hike as many '14ers' (mountains that are 14,000 ft or higher) as possible. She has a boxer and two cats.

Shelly graduated from the hygiene program atBee County College in 1989. Shelly feels truly blessed to be a part of such an amazing dental team. She loves getting to know her patients and providing them withthe utmost in dental care. Shelly is married to Sean and they have a son, Jack who attends St. Mary's Catholic School. She enjoying spending her free time with her family attending church activities, traveling, cheering on the TCU Horn Frogs, cooking and entertaining friends,and spoiling their golden doodle, Wrigley.

Michelle graduated from Allied Health Careers in Austin, TX in 2004, and joined our team soon after. As a dental assistant, she helps out at the front office, assists the doctors during procedures, and makes sure our patients feel as comfortable as possible. Michelles favorite part of her job is the personal relationships she has made with our patients and staff. She loves seeing people happy with their smiles! At home, Michelle spends much of her free time with family and friends, traveling to new places, and learning about astronomy and photography.

Bea attended Indiana State University and has been in the dental field for over 40 years. At our office, Beaworks hard to make sure all our patients are comfortable andalso ensures thatour officeruns efficiently and smoothly. Bea most recently movedto Stonewall from Seguin and is an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Stonewall. She has two grown children and two grandchildren. She enjoys volunteering for the Kairos Prison Ministry and has traveled to Guyana on dental mission trips.

Veronica is a graduate of Concorde College in San Antonio. Although she is a new dental assistant, she has quickly developed excellent clinical skills and is always willing to lend a helping hand to our doctors and staff. Veronica enjoys meeting new patients and getting to know them on a personal level - her warm smile puts even the most anxious patients at ease. In her spare time, Veronica enjoys traveling and spending time at the lake with her three daughters.
