He continued on to the University of Arizona School of Dentistry for his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, and completed his formal education at the University of Minnesota, receiving his Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics.
He continued his education, focusing on the advancements in new wires, temporary anchorage devices, and laser treatment, which continues to make orthodontic treatment exciting and brings new challenges to the field. He's also a board-certified orthodontist.
Dr. Kottemann is dedicated to serving our community. He partners with Dental Lifeline Network to provide orthodontic care for elderly and disabled patients, giving expert care to those who may not otherwise have access.
When hes not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Kottemann enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura, a pediatric dentist in the Anoka area. They have three children: twin girls, Valerie and Olivia, and one boy, Rian. They also have an incredibly naughty puppy named Louie.
