He continued on to the University of Arizona School of Dentistry for his Doctorate of Dental Medicine, and completed his formal education at the University of Minnesota, receiving his Master of Science degree and Certificate in Orthodontics.
He continued his education, focusing on the advancements in new wires, temporary anchorage devices, and laser treatment, which continues to make orthodontic treatment exciting and brings new challenges to the field. He's also a board-certified orthodontist.
Dr. Kottemann is dedicated to serving our community. He partners with Dental Lifeline Network to provide orthodontic care for elderly and disabled patients, giving expert care to those who may not otherwise have access.
When hes not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Kottemann enjoys spending time with his wife, Laura, a pediatric dentist in the Anoka area. They have three children: twin girls, Valerie and Olivia, and one boy, Rian. They also have an incredibly naughty puppy named Louie.

ALL the staff are very friendly and accommodating. Will work with you to provide the best care with affordability. Really do a good job of making you feel welcome and they get to know and remember their patients.

I had to get braces for a jaw surgery I had and I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to help with my orthodontics. 1000 times would reccomend Kottemann Orthodontics. They make you feel welcome each time you walk through the door and really care about you as a person. Great place. Great people!

When I had braces through Kottemann Orthodontics, the service is very professional, efficient, and effective. I had very few problems, but if there ever was one I could call and have it fixed as soon as possible. The time required to have braces on was just as they estimated and I have had no problems since. I would recommend Kottemann Orthodontics.
