Dr. Stephen Konikoff was born in 1950 in Buffalo NY, but the weather proved to be too cold so he moved to Norfolk, Virginia in 1952. After graduating from VCU School of Dentistry in 1975, Dr. Konikoff began his practice in general dentistry and still has that same enthusiasm and excitement in his practice today. He specializes in general dentistry along with an emphasis on cosmetic and implant dentistry, and his attention to detail and adherence to excellent patient care and outcomes are second to none. His love of dentistry and compassionate patient care is only exceeded by his patients' loyalty and friendship.
Dr. Konikoff resides in the Norfolk area with his wife of 46 years. He has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He loves to sing (though not well), golf and paint. Dr. Konikoff has been involved with Operation Smile since its inception in 1982.
Dr. Smith-Kayal is dedicated to advancing the practice of dentistry and takes a proactive approach to dental health and hygiene. Along with her team of assistants and hygienists, Dr. Smith-Kayal provides excellent preventive care for patients of all ages.
Dr. Dodge models his patient care philosophy after the Jesuit ideal of Cura Personalis or 'care for the whole person.' Therefore, he emphatically believes that exceptional dental health allows patients to improve the many aspects that contribute to overall health.
Dr. Dodge married his wife Dr. Emma Dodge in June of 2018. His wife is currently serving as a Dentist in the United States Navy. Dr. Dodge is an avid cook and baker and is always willing to share recipes! Dr. Dodge is also a musician and frequently sings and plays his trumpet for community events. Together the Drs Dodge enjoy hiking, white water rafting, water skiing, biking, running, and finding new roasts of coffee beans to try!
Prior to joining Konikoff Family Dentistry, Dr. Elghannam practiced dentistry in Alexandria, Egypt for more than 15 years. In 2017 he moved to New York to complete the Advanced Dental Implant program at NYU before moving to Front Royal, VA where he has been practicing general and implant dentistry.
Dr. E, as he likes to be called, is fluent in both English and Arabic. He enjoys traveling with his family and making new friends. In his free time, he loves reading, watching soccer games, playing golf and running.

Ingrid was born in Guyana, South America and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She moved to Virginia in 1990 with her husband, now retired US Navy. Ingrid has been working as a Dental Hygienist at Konikoff Family Dentistry since 1991, and as her parents told her, 'If you enjoy what you do, you 'll never work a day in your life.' She loves to follow the motto of caring for the whole person, not just their teeth. When she is not caring for her patients, she enjoys relaxing with her family, friends, cooking, and traveling.
Meghan has been a part of the dental field since 2008. However, Meghan started her education and passion for dentistry at a very early age. Her great uncle started the family tradition in 1962 when he opened his own dental practice here in Virginia. Therefore, dentistry has always been a topic of conversation around the dinner table. Meghan is not only passionate about dentistry; she is passionate about the overall health and comfort of her patients. She believes that through education and compassionate care that patients will not only benefit from a healthy mouth but look forward to their dental visits. In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, and lifting. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her husband Chris and their beautiful daughter.
Lisa Wetherington is a native of Virginia. She attended Old Dominion University where she graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Lisa joined Konikoff Family Dentistry in 1986. Lisa has acquired the ability to help her patients overcome their dental anxiety by being a compassionate and patient caregiver. Lisa resides in Chesapeake with her husband of 35 years. She has two children. She enjoys the outdoors, music, and her family. Lisa has served as an adult leader with Boys Scouts Pack and Troop 57 and a Band Parent Booster.

From the first phone call I made to Konikoff dentistry I knew I would be in good hands. The receptionist I spoke with was very kind, thorough and knowledgeable. On the first visit I was taken back promptly when arriving. I saw Dr. E and he was able to tell me exactly what I needed and what to expect on my next visit. My next visit Dr. E did exactly what we talked about in the previous visit and I was out in 30 minutes. Thank you Dr. E and staff for the quality of care you given me and being so kind.

I had an emergency toothache and they accommodated me the same day. No invasive treatment was required and my toothache went away as they predicted. I was very pleased with my overall experience. Thank you!

No wonder Dr. Konikoff feels free to travel and see the world!!!He knows he is leaving his dynasty in the best of hands!!! The young lady at the front desk was kind and informative. Then Jennifer took me in her care and I was very safe and knew immediately she had great knowledge and caring for the work she was born to do. I personally think she would make an excellent nurse also. Dr. Capps (?spelling) was welcoming and direct in his care and answered all my concerns. I had called to make an appointment and was lucky enough to get a spot the very next day. Amy, was also very informative in insurance details and very friendly. I hate needles and they were very gentle and professional I didn't feel any pain and my teeth looks great. I would recommend there services to anyone who's looking for a great dentist office and the staff there are really friendly. Front desk clerk was friendly and helped me calm down and made me laugh to ease my mind. Thanks everyone.

Best dentist in Tidewater Virginia!!! They have great staff, have shown flexibility on scheduling appointments, and are good about confirming insurance. I have experienced no wait times for my appointments. The dental technicians are very sweet and respectful, and the dentists themselves are very good and thoughtful of how to address problems/advice to how to handle hard dental cleaning issues/questions. I highly recommend them!!!

I was pleased with this company until they tried to make me pay a fee today without notifying me that a bill had to be paid prior to the day of my appt. The receptionist went on to apologize and inform me that usually the day an appt is made, they notify patients and have them sign an acknowledgment showing the amount that would have to be paid on the day of their upcoming appt. I spoke with the office manager (after waiting 45 minutes after my appt start time) , only to be told that although they made a mistake and she was aware of that, there was for sure absolutely nothing that could be done for the inconvenience I had to endure. She also went on to say that she was sorry that I "hadn't come" financially prepared. Which was an absolute slap in my face since the reason that I wasn't was due to a mistake that she acknowledged they made. She went on to say that the only thing that could be done moving forward was to reschedule for a future date and pay the day of, in order to be seen. Absolutely disgusting customer service.
