Dr. Stephen Konikoff was born in 1950 in Buffalo NY, but the weather proved to be too cold so he moved to Norfolk, Virginia in 1952. After graduating from VCU School of Dentistry in 1975, Dr. Konikoff began his practice in general dentistry and still has that same enthusiasm and excitement in his practice today. He specializes in general dentistry along with an emphasis on cosmetic and implant dentistry, and his attention to detail and adherence to excellent patient care and outcomes are second to none. His love of dentistry and compassionate patient care is only exceeded by his patients' loyalty and friendship.
Dr. Konikoff resides in the Norfolk area with his wife of 46 years. He has 3 children and 5 grandchildren. He loves to sing (though not well), golf and paint. Dr. Konikoff has been involved with Operation Smile since its inception in 1982.
Dr. Smith-Kayal is dedicated to advancing the practice of dentistry and takes a proactive approach to dental health and hygiene. Along with her team of assistants and hygienists, Dr. Smith-Kayal provides excellent preventive care for patients of all ages.
Dr. Dodge models his patient care philosophy after the Jesuit ideal of Cura Personalis or 'care for the whole person.' Therefore, he emphatically believes that exceptional dental health allows patients to improve the many aspects that contribute to overall health.
Dr. Dodge married his wife Dr. Emma Dodge in June of 2018. His wife is currently serving as a Dentist in the United States Navy. Dr. Dodge is an avid cook and baker and is always willing to share recipes! Dr. Dodge is also a musician and frequently sings and plays his trumpet for community events. Together the Drs Dodge enjoy hiking, white water rafting, water skiing, biking, running, and finding new roasts of coffee beans to try!
Prior to joining Konikoff Family Dentistry, Dr. Elghannam practiced dentistry in Alexandria, Egypt for more than 15 years. In 2017 he moved to New York to complete the Advanced Dental Implant program at NYU before moving to Front Royal, VA where he has been practicing general and implant dentistry.
Dr. E, as he likes to be called, is fluent in both English and Arabic. He enjoys traveling with his family and making new friends. In his free time, he loves reading, watching soccer games, playing golf and running.

Ingrid was born in Guyana, South America and raised in Brooklyn, New York. She moved to Virginia in 1990 with her husband, now retired US Navy. Ingrid has been working as a Dental Hygienist at Konikoff Family Dentistry since 1991, and as her parents told her, 'If you enjoy what you do, you 'll never work a day in your life.' She loves to follow the motto of caring for the whole person, not just their teeth. When she is not caring for her patients, she enjoys relaxing with her family, friends, cooking, and traveling.
Meghan has been a part of the dental field since 2008. However, Meghan started her education and passion for dentistry at a very early age. Her great uncle started the family tradition in 1962 when he opened his own dental practice here in Virginia. Therefore, dentistry has always been a topic of conversation around the dinner table. Meghan is not only passionate about dentistry; she is passionate about the overall health and comfort of her patients. She believes that through education and compassionate care that patients will not only benefit from a healthy mouth but look forward to their dental visits. In her spare time, she enjoys running, hiking, and lifting. Most importantly, she loves spending time with her husband Chris and their beautiful daughter.
Lisa Wetherington is a native of Virginia. She attended Old Dominion University where she graduated in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene. Lisa joined Konikoff Family Dentistry in 1986. Lisa has acquired the ability to help her patients overcome their dental anxiety by being a compassionate and patient caregiver. Lisa resides in Chesapeake with her husband of 35 years. She has two children. She enjoys the outdoors, music, and her family. Lisa has served as an adult leader with Boys Scouts Pack and Troop 57 and a Band Parent Booster.
