Born and raised in Sinton, Texas, Dr. Charles Kolb graduated from Sinton High School before continuing on to Abilene Christian University for his undergraduate degree. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, Texas, and has practiced in Taft, Texassince 1970.

Dr. Kolb has been very active professionally at the local, state, and national levels. He is a member of Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the National Dental Honor Society, and is also a member of both the American and International College of Dentists. Dr. Kolb was the first dentist in the nation to receive the Mentor Award from the American Student Dental Association. He also received the Outstanding Alumni Award from the University of Texas Dental School.

Dr. Kolb currently resides in Portland, Texas, with his wife, Sherry, who is the Past President of theAlliance to theTexas Dental Association. Both his children, Dr. Jonathan Kolb and Dr. LeAnn Kolb-Snody followed in their fathers footsteps to become dentists. Dr. Kolb is exceedingly proud that they have joined him in practice.

Dr. LeAnn, a native of Portland,TX, graduated from Texas A&M university with a degree in Biomedical Science and earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Dental Branch Houston in 2002. After graduation, she returned to South Texas to practice dentistry with her family. LeAnn is a member of the Nueces Valley DistrictDentalSociety, Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association. LeAnn and her husband Troy have 3 children. They keep busy with their children activities and enjoy spending time with family at their ranch.

Although my title says Business Manager, and I do like working in the financial end of our practice, what I really enjoy is visiting with and getting to know our patients. Each of them is so interesting, and I love hearing about their experiences, passions, and families. We develop real friendships and I look forward to their visits as a time to catch up on whats been happening in their lives. I handle all business-related activity for our Taft and Corpus Christi offices, including the accounts payable and our payroll.

My life is good, whether Im in the office or at home. I love to go dancing, am very active in my church and on the vestry, and spend as much time as I can with friends and family. I have three adult children and seven grandchildren who are the lights of my life.

In other words, I tend to be busy, whether here in the office or one my days off, when Im often helping at Immaculate Conception Church, going shopping, or playing volleyball or basketball. My husband Herman and I have been married for 20 years and we have two children away at college. We are also the proud owners of a Lab named Bello.

I find dentistry fascinating and love the challenges associated with it. Each day offers new things to learn, new patients we get to care for, and seeing established patients, too, so I come into the office looking forward to whats before us. Every day is different and that keeps us all on our toes, in a very good way. My duties involve getting our patients ready to be seen by our doctors, and charting patients medical histories, medications, and why they are visiting us. In doing so, I really get to know our patients and many become friends, which is another benefit of my work.

During my days off, youll find me spending a lot of time with my husband of 38 years. We share our lives with a wonderful dog who has been with us for 12 years, now. We also care for 12 cats, all spayed or neutered. I love gardening and taking camping trips. An interesting tidbit of information: I have a twin sister and yes, we do look alike!

I am proud to be a part of a team that changes patients lives in a positive way. Our team and doctors all work towards a common goal of providing the best dental care to our patients. Our patients will always walk into a caring and friendly environment.

When not at work, I enjoy spending time with my husband of 20 years. We have threewonderful boys. I am very proud of them. During the week after work, I am involved in a ladys bible study group. On the weekends, my husband and I enjoy going to the beach. I also enjoy reading, cooking, and keeping up with current events. During football season, I enjoy cheering for the New Orleans Saints.

Being a dental assistant helps me learn new things every day and fulfill our patients needs. This is very rewarding for me. My duties require me to seat our patients in the operatory, ready to be seen by the Doctor. I chart patients medical history, clean and sterilize instruments and answer questions our patients might have. I also assist the Doctor during treatment. I really enjoy meeting new patients and learning new procedures.

As a dental assistant, I work one-on-one with each patient to help improve their oral health and provide a comfortable dental experience. It is very gratifying to see the end results of a completed treatment, as well as the satisfaction of our patients with the care theyve received. One of the best parts of working here is that its truly a family atmosphere. Our doctors and team work very well together to meet our patients dental needs.
