He graduated from Arroyo High School as class valedictorian and then went on to complete a degree in Molecular Cell Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. After working in the biotechnology sector for a few years, Dr. Lin attended Meharry Medical College where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003. There he also received the El Selvier Award for excellence in research and published a journal article.
He later moved to New York City to pursue post-graduate studies. There he completed a General Practice Residency in Brooklyn, NY at the Interfaith Medical Center where he received advanced training in all phases of dentistry including oral surgery and trauma, hospital dentistry, implants, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics (root canals), prosthodontics, and orthodontics.
Dr. Lin has worked in a variety of clinical settings, including a childrens dental center as well as a mini dental implant and cosmetic dental center. He enjoys performing all phases of dentistry, helping people achieve their best smile. He is certified in Fastbraces and Clear Correct invisible aligner technology. Dr. Lin is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, California Dental Association, and the Southern Alameda Country Dental Society. In addition, he has completed hundreds of hours of advanced clinical training, always keeping up to date in the latest techniques and technology to provide the highest level of dental care, in a gentle, caring, and comfortable environment. Recently, Dr. Lin has been selected for inclusion in The Guide to Americas Top Dentists.

Dr. Lin is a very patient and kind dentist that will take your concerns seriously. In the past, I have had my fair share of dentists that would take advantage or have no bedside manners. I went to see Dr. Lin for a teeth implant (which I've been extremely excited about) and he was able to answer all my questions diligently. I've always had insecurities smiling because of my missing tooth in the front, but after undergoing the process with Dr. Lin with surgery/laser uncovery/gum recovery... I'm able to smile with confidence with my new provisional implant tooth.

Dr. Marcus Lin and his staff are very professional and friendly. They provide excellent service. Dr Lin's expertise is exceptional. Very detailed and compassionate to his patients. I have been coming here for 5+ years now and Dr.Lin and the staff are amazing! They explain everything they are doing and are very clear. Dr. Lin is extremely talented with conducting his procedures(fillings, cleanings etc) and is always asking if you are okay and comfortable. Dr. Lin also answers all my questions and the team in general is very accommodating. Overall 10 out of 10! As someone who has not been to the dentist in 5+ years due to bad experiences I can say with complete honesty that going to Dr Lin's office was an absolute delight. He gave me a complete run down of what work I needed to get done and why while trying to make the entire experience as smooth as possible. I would recommend anyone to schedule an appointment with him asap!

Very unethical dentist, do not come here! Will scam you for additional UNNEEDED services and charge you a HUGE CO-PAY. After switching dentists, I was not charged a cent of co-pay, on the same insurance plan as before. HUGE SCAM

I have been very impressed with this dentist office. You can expect your appointments to start on time. Dr. Lin is gentle, thorough, listens to my feedback, and will answer all of my questions. The staff is also top tier!

Avoid this place. I suspect they look and your insurance and charge for service you don't need. They told me I needed deep cleaning or my teeth going to rot, the service cost $1000+ back then..when I was in my mid 20s, I asked my friends and family people my age if they ever needed deep clean.. nobody did. I canceled the appointment. Unethical. Go somewhere else for 2nd or 3rd opinions.

The doctor is so good and the staff is very welcoming. I felt treated like a patient who needs help. I was treated like a human being but not like a money generating person which I had previously experienced with group dentist doctors firms. I will always recommend Kohoutek dentist

The lady who answers the phone is very rude. I called for an appointment for a cavity (big hole in tooth). She starts laughing hysterically and says "how you know you have cavity ha ha" with her thick Chinese accent and little understanding of English. Then she tried to change the topic and pretend she wasn't trying to put other people down to feel better about her own sad little life. I state, "I am trying to get my teeth checked for cavities". They should send this lady back to whatever dump she came from.

Doc.Lin is my new dentist and I'm glad.We had a lot of work to do and I get uncomfortable in the dentist chair. Doctor Lin was able to calm me down by taking the time to explain the the procedure in advance. That kept me calm and involved and out of fear. Thanks Doctor Lin for helping me through my fear and giving me a wonderful smile.
