Koh Orthodontics has proudly served the communities of Northgate, Ballard, Ravenna, Viewridge, Maple Leaf, Greenwood, Crown Hill, Blue Ridge, Laurelhurst, Sandpoint, Lake City, Shoreline, Edmonds, and others for over 25 years.
I still remember the day in 1993 that I began practicing in Northgate. The area seemed almost quaint, and many of you know how much its changed since. What has not changed is the joy and privilege of meeting and getting to know our patients. Orthodontics has such a positive impact on everyones lives. For patients, the beautiful smiles they are able to achieve contribute greatly to life-long benefits, such as improved health and self-confidence. For me, I get to work with an extremely talented team who are just as happy as I am to be a part of your treatment. In addition, I have the honor of working with the best dentists and specialists in the area, not to mention the best patients!
Education I attended La Sierra University in Riverside, California, for undergraduate studies, majoring in Chemistry. I was accepted to Loma Linda University School of Dentistry at the ripe age of 19, the youngest in my class. Following dental school, I became a clinical instructor in both the Departments of Pediatric Dentistry and Restorative Dentistry. In addition, I practiced full time as a general dentist.
Orthodontics, however, began to intrigue me during this time, as I began to see the positive effects healthy and beautiful smiles had on patients. I was accepted into the graduate orthodontic program at Loma Linda University, completing this formal education with highest honors in 1991. I was then invited to work with orthodontic faculty members for another 2 years, learning so much more from these clinicians while waiting for my wife to graduate and for the opportunity to relocate to the beautiful Pacific Northwest.
Personal and Family Life When asked, I usually say that I grew up in Singapore, but Im from Seattle! My family moved from Singapore to Loma Linda when I was 15, but its here in Seattle that Ive spent the most years, and where Ive established both professional and family lives. My wife and I have two lovely daughters, and many have heard us refer to our third child, a very sweet West Highland Terrier. We love it here, and couldnt imagine calling any other place home.
When not immersed in orthodontics, I enjoy traveling, photography, reading, and scrabble (yes, scrabble)! I love sports, especially volleyball, tennis, and soccer. The most memorable and enjoyable parts of my sporting life, without question, have come from coaching middle school volleyball and soccer. Watching these young athletes compete and succeed really is fantastic.
Every member of our wonderful team has years of experience in treating patients with the highest level of care, and strives to provide energetic and fun-loving service to each patient. Together, our motivation is to make our patients feel right at home, and put your needs first to achieve efficient and comprehensive treatment. You will be happy here! All staffs are very nice and kind. They care their patients. Also, they are always on the time. You make an appointment at 10am, you will get in at 10am!

I have started my treatment with them and the experience is impeccable. They answer all my questions and are very patient with me. The reception team is very friendly and attentive as well as the rest of the professionals. Dr Koh is very nice, kind and explains the whole process very clearly and my orthodontist Allie is great with me. I trust them and that the result will be very good because from the first day they gave me the confidence I need.

My son started to see Dr. Koh a few weeks ago. Each time we felt the sincerity in the care and devotion from everyone working here. They are all very efficient and professional. We can feel the pride you all take in their work. Dr. Koh is an experienced leader. I wish the integrity and good relationship run deep and long. Below are the journey so far. TL;DR 1st visit, Dr. Koh answered many questions from us. Karen put in the first pair of spacers. Diane talked us through the payment options and treatment process, which includes dozens of visits over 14-16 months. Karen made a mold of my son's lower teeth for a biting plate. 2nd visit, Dr. Koh and Ellie put in second pair of spacers and lower bite plate. Ellie made a mold for my son's top teeth. This mold will be used to fit the expander. 3rd visit, Allie and Dr. Koh tried to put in top expander. The lab didn't make the top expander to the specifications provided by Dr. Koh, it should have a 12 mm screw but a 8 mm one was used. We have to come back in another appointment after our trip to DC to put in the expander. Karen took another mold of the top teeth, raspberry flavor. And she put in the third pair of spacers right in between top back teeth. Dr. Koh may call us to come in tomorrow to put in a new bite plate, since the first bite plate was too thin, it doesn't really prevent the top teeth from going to the back of lower front teeth.

Dr. Koh greeted us right away and his staff followed soon after. Dr. Koh was very informative and talked directly to my daughter who is 8yo, his gentle manner kept her at ease. Joann was also super friendly and informative, she gave helpful information and was able to answer any questions we had. Thanks, Dr. Koh and office!

I've been under Dr. Koh's team care now for about a year. I'm surely one of his oldest patients, in my 50s. My first visit was exploratory: I knew little about orthodontics, expected to spend a lot of money, and to be given a hard sell for Invisalign. Dr. Koh spent much more time with me and my son (also evaluating braces) than I'd expected, listened very well, showed care and humanity, and didn't try to sell me on Invisalign. Over the past year there have been some bumps along the way, and I've always found that he (and his staff) seek feedback, listen well, integrate feedback, and continue to check with patients. My son and I both appreciate their staff and the quality of care. I'd recommend Koh Orthodontics without reservation.
