Hi folks! My name is Dr. Leonardo Leo Koerich, and I am one of the doctors at Koerich Orthodontics. I grew up in the southern part of Brazil, in a city called Florianpolis with a large, very close family all living pretty close by. I never would have thought that I would be the one in my family to leave the country and end up in North Carolina, but life takes us on some unexpected journeys sometimes, especially when you meet a special person!
I completed my first dental degree at Federal University of Santa Catarina, which is in Florianopolis, Brazil. After graduating, I was invited to complete a one-year Post-Doc Fellowship at the Department of Orthodontics at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where I also met my wife, Lindsey. Upon completion, I received a full scholarship for residency in Orthodontics at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, the first and most respected orthodontic residency in the country.
After graduating, from the orthodontic program, I moved to Charlotte, got married to Lindsey, and then shortly after, completed the second round of dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University. I currently work as a general dentist with my practice limited to orthodontics. I am a strong believer that patient care starts by listening and understanding peoples concerns and desires, and my goals are to connect with people and to deliver a beautiful smile. When I am not in the office, you can find me teaching my kids how to play soccer, eating at the Brazilian bakery, and hanging out with my family.
Hey, friends! My name is Dr. Lindsey Koerich, and Im one of the doctors here at Koerich Orthodontics. Thank you for visiting! I grew up in the little town of Granite Falls, which is close to Hickory, North Carolina. From Granite Falls, I went on to get my bachelor of science degree and dental degree in Chapel Hill at the University of North Carolina, and then onto New York for part of my post-graduate education at Columbia University.
After getting into my dream school for orthodontic residency, I moved back to Chapel Hill to complete my three-year Masters degree in orthodontics at UNC-Chapel Hill. Through my lifes experiences, I have had the chance to interact with all kinds of people from different walks of life, but how I treat people really goes back to my roots. Where I am from, southern hospitality and being kind to one another is a way of life.
I am proud of being down to earth, approachable, and patient. I value being able to provide excellent treatment outcomes and a genuinely friendly and caring experience for the families we treat. Being treated like a fellow human being is really what its all about, isnt it? Being an orthodontist is the best job ever! I love the challenges we face, I love being around all of our fun patients, and I love to keep learning and honing my craft. In fact, every year I spend a lot of weekends going to continuing education courses to stay ahead of the curve and to be able to continue providing the best and most up-to-date care to you. I am so looking forward to meeting you and giving you and your children an uplifting and positive braces (or Invisalign) experience!
