Before dental school, Tyler graduated from Kansas State University in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. Upon graduating, he moved to Kansas City and started working in the dental field as an assistant. This led him to graduating from UMKC with a dental hygiene degree before starting dental school. After graduating, he practiced in his hometown of Topeka, KS. Tyler is excited to be back in Kansas City serving the area.
Dr. Koehn has undergone extensive training and is a Fellow with the International Dental Implant Association, IDIA. This means that in many cases we can place and restore your implant in our office without a trip to the specialist. Along with his involvement in the IDIA, Tyler is a member of the American Academy of Facial Esthetics. He has undergone training in the placement of neuromuscular modulators and facial fillers to aid in the enhancements, maintenance and therapeutics for all your dental and facial needs.
In his free time, Tyler is an avid Sporting KC, Chiefs, Royals and K-State fan. He enjoys golf, tennis and any other activity that keeps him busy. Together with his fianc, Megan, they love finding new restaurants that they can bring their American bulldog, Lincoln.

I want to preface with I am terrified of the dentist. It is the most cringy self care you could get! I always have terrible anxiety and shake like a chihuahua in the chair lol. So that being said, this is hands down the BEST dentist I have ever been to. Everybody was so nice and personable, I had an infected molar that needed extraction and they went above and beyond to ensure my comfort throughout the process. They offered water, pillows, a blanket and were so so wonderful overall getting this painful tooth out. I was terrified of post-op pain being that my last extraction from another dentist was unimaginably painful, nothing like I've ever experienced. I am so glad and thankful to say that I am in NO pain what so ever other than very slight soreness when I open my mouth too wide. I honestly fell in love with this office and hope that they are in my network with my new insurance. No other office or doctor/assistants could compare! If you're looking for work to be done, you gotta do yourself a favor and come here!

I changed my dental to north last year. First came to Fxxxxx, got Bill of 400 some dollar without cleaning right side of my teeth, they said I need deep clean and needed one more schedule for it! REALLY? 6 months later, I tired 2 dental office, none of them said I need deep clean! I went to Koehn Dentistry last week and again, no saying of needing a deep clean! Plus, super professional, honest people there! Highly recommended!

I decided on this dentist office after finding so many great reviews. SO glad I did! The office is beautiful and clean. My hygienist was absolutely amazing! Dr. Koehn is super friendly and genuinely cares about his patients. After not been to the dentist in many years, this office and staff took all my worries away! 10000% recommend!

Expert care, been going to this office for years, Koehn has taken over for Dr. Gordon's office but the quality remains the same. Will continue to get quality dental work as long as I live in Kansas City.

I was sad when my dentist retired. However now I'm pleased and pleasantly surprised. Dr. Koehn is terrific and I connected with his friendly personality right away. He's caring and compassionate too. He repaired an old filling recently. It was so smooth I asked him what else we need to update! Seriously I'm now looking forward to dental visits.

I've been coming to this dentistry for about 2 years now and I absolutely love it. Most dentists seem to not care about anything but the money but that is not the case here. Dr Koehn and staff are such kind friendly people who genuinely care about their patients. I sincerely enjoy coming into the dentist now because of them! I recommend anyone and everyone in the KCMO area to make appointments at this dentistry, you will NOT be disappointed. Thank you Koehn Dentistry for making dental hygiene an enjoyable experience!

So thankful I scheduled with this office it was such a great experience. This is not your average dental office and Staff. Amy the hygienist was very professional yet made you feel so comfortable. She was very good at explaining everything I needed to know and what to do to start implementing the correct oral care. Dr. Koehn was great, he took the time to come up with a dental plan to achieve where I wanted to be at the end of my journey. I didn't feel as though they had to get me in and out within a certain timeline and that was refreshing. The reason I say this isn't your average dental office is they provide so much more than just dental work (make sure you check out their website, I wish I had before going or I would have scheduled more "dental" work (wink wink) to be done (the hubby doesn't have to know). I've got it scheduled for my next appointment and I'm so excited! Office staff is very personable and gives you the over all feel goods when leaving. I'm very thankful I found my forever dental office!

I first met Dr. Koehn's team through a military dental appointment. In 17 years, his team was the best I have worked with. Since I first met the team, I have seen them twice. I live a hour from their office and the team makes it well worth the drive because of their compassion, attention to and love of what they do. I want to personally thank Amy and Kayle for the work they have done. You all have made this person, that doesn't really like going to the dentist, look forward to seeing your team in the future!

I can't say enough times how much I appreciate the Gordon Dental family. I've been seeing them for the last three years for general and cosmetic work. Everyone at the office is so nice and helpful and always willing to work with/around your schedule. Dr Gordon and Dr John worked on my implant a year ago and I couldn't be more happier with. I've been recently working with Kelcie recently for my Invisalign / aligners and she has been so helpful insightful walking me through the entire process and making sure I'm happy with the outcome not to mention patient because I have been asking for small tweaks. The entire staff are just so friendly and welcoming. I wouldn't recommend any other dentist. It's a great, clean and professional space and the staff goes above and beyond to get things done!

UPDATE: In the midst of Dr. John's retirement, the staff has been working to transition the office and all of us patients to Dr. Tyler. He has taken over my care of Dr. John and it's been seamless. He has done a molar implant, some bonding work, and a bonding repair for me. He is detail-oriented and even took an impression of my teeth to create a model for me so I could see what the work would look like after. He is open to feedback from me, the patient, so I feel we and the staff are all working together on my smile. I still need a crown placement, and I'm actually glad I have reason to come back and see Dr. Tyler and all the amazing girls here who have become my friends :) I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. John and his entire staff. At my initial consultation, they offered a full comprehensive orthodontic treatment plan which included every photo of my teeth and mouth possible, at no cost to me. I felt if they did that much legwork up front, they'd certainly continue the same high-level of quality and care for the duration of my time as a patient, and so far, that's been absolutely the case! My toddler had her first dentist visit here, the staff gifted my husband and me flowers when they found out we are expecting, and I know every one of them by name. People often tout "great customer service" -- this office and its people actually offer it, and I will never again give another dental office my time or financial investment. You'll be so happy you went to Gordon Dental!

I have been working with Kelsey for my Invisalign treatments, and to say that I'm happy with her care is an understatement. I am in week 14 of my treatment and have 8 weeks left to go. She saved me weeks of treatment by recognizing that I needed to get new scans done to reshape the way the trays were fitting my teeth. Kelsey is absolutely AMAZING!

I cant even begin to explain how happy I am with this office. Dr. John and his staff have absolutely changed my life. From beginning to end my whole experience has been AMAZING. I have gotten so many compliments on my new smile. I have an appointment with Dr. John tomorrow and I'm so excited. I've never had good experiences with going to the dentist but this office has completely changed my mind.
