Dr. Jay Kocian grew up in Dwight, Nebraska. He completed his Bachelors Degree in Radiation Sciences from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where he graduated with highest Distinction. Dr. Kocian attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry, graduating in 2013. For the past six years Dr. Kocian has been practicing in Omaha, Nebraska. During this time Dr. Kocian has received further training in implants, endodontics, Invisalign, sleep apnea, cosmetic dentistry, and Botox for esthetics and TMD treatment. He has lived in Gretna, Nebraska since 1997.
His wife, Lynn has been practicing medicine in Gretna as a Physician Assistant for more than twenty years. Dr. Kocian has two children, Carter and Raigan. They both attended and graduated from Gretna High School. In the twenty-three years Dr. Kocian has lived in Gretna hes been active in the community coaching many of his two childrens sports teams, helping his wife with Gretna Health Fairs, and volunteering with the Gretna Days Foundation Dr. Kocian always wanted to practice Dentistry in Gretna serving the community and surrounding areas.
Kristy began working in a local dental office in 2009 and has had a passion for helping people navigate the dental field ever since. She enjoys interacting with patients and making sure the dental experience is positive. She also loves using her vast knowledge of dentistry and dental insurance to support and advocate for patients. Kristy originally hails from the Kansas City, Missouri area. When shes not at the office, she enjoys gardening, canning, and making stained glass windows. She and her husband, Scott, have 3 sons, Elijah, Gabriel, and Samuel and are currently refurbishing their 100+-year-old dream home.
Tori is one of our hygienists who is a graduate of the Iowa Western Dental Hygiene program. She continued her education and received her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene from Wichita State University. Every year she enjoys teaming up with the community, and volunteering for Nebraska Mission of Mercy. Tori loves getting to know patients and her caring and sweet personality make her an invaluable member of our team. She is a native of South Bend, NE. Tori enjoys spending time with her family and friends whenever she gets the chance! In Toris off time she enjoys traveling, hiking, boating, and soaking up the sunshine!
Barbie is from Ellendale, ND. She moved with her family to Nebraska in 2018. Barbie graduated from North Dakota State college of Science with a Dental Assisting degree and also a dree in Dental Hygiene. She has over 20 years of dental experience, 3 years in Dental Assisting and over 17 years in Dental Hygiene. Barbie loves being part of an amazing dental team who genuinely cares about their patients and puts their needs first. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Josh, and their tree kids Brayton, Braddock and Bella, as a Family, they enjoy attending the kids sporting events.

The Kocian Dental office is wonderful. They are so friendly. I'm not one that looks forward to dental appointments, but they make me feel very comfortable during my appointments. Thank you Kocian Dental.

This place is a folksy small-town dentist office. It's average and everything you would expect. They do an okay job with average routine cleanings. The hygienist is very loud and chatty, and the TVs are always on with the maximum volume in every room--so much inane chatter. The front desk lady yells across the room randomly things like - "gotcha checked in.." to no one in particular. It could be 1 person in the room, could be 3. She's a sassy snarky lady who is quick with the eye roll if you ask her for any information about your appointment. Even if you are wondering because it's 10 minutes after your appointment, and you're not quite sure what's going on because HGTV is blaring on the TV, you want to make sure you're the one who was "gotcha checked in." The staff feels very at home in this office. I don't think professionalism is required for any position at this dentist's office. Most people in Nebraska would enjoy this place, so I'm giving it 5 stars.

Dr. K and "team Kocian" are exactly what our family was looking for in our dental care needs. Ranging from dad to daughter, they have helped us through emergency "fall and chipped tooth" scenarios to guiding us on the right path for much more extensive prior dental issues and preventive care. They are skillfully knowledgeable, professional, yet provide the service like a neighbor, not a number. Kocian is an excellent local resource and glad we found them.

The staff are all amazing! I used to be so scared to go to the dentist until I heard about Dr Kocian he is the most caring dentist. He and the staff helped me get over my fear of the dentist. I wish I could of found them sooner. Barbie at the front desk love her so sweet nice funny. I no longer dread going. I feel like I gained alot more then a nice smile from this place. Kocian Family Dental come see them you will not be disappointed!!

Very thorough. Explains everything and answers your questions and does not try to nickel and dime you for unnecessary things. As a bonus, Dr Kocian is very personable and caring as well as his entire staff.

The team at Kocian Family Dental were amazing!!! Barbie was so nice and helpful with setting up an appointment and helping with insurance questions. Summer was amazing! She made sure to explain everything and helped calm my nerves. Dr. Kocian was great! He took his time to walk me through everything that was going on and how we would take care of everything.
