Dr. Kobil started life as a city girl. Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. She grew up in Squirrel Hill, graduated from Taylor Alderdice High School and then attended The University of Pittsburgh in Pittsburgh PA, earning her Bachelors degree in Psychology. Dr. Kobil continued her education at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, graduating in 1986 with a dental degree. She then chose to extend her training and completed a two year residency program, also at The University of Pittsburgh School of Dental Medicine, receiving her specialty license in Pediatric Dentistry in 1988.

Dr. Kobil has been practicing dentistry for over 25 years and is a member of the following professional organizations: American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association, Pennsylvania Dental Association, Dental Society of Western PA, Western PA Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Butler County Dental Society, and the Academy of Sports Dentistry.

Dr. Kobil is a firm believer in maintaining her skills through continuing education and training. In addition to having her own practice, she is currently employed part-time at the University Of Pittsburgh School Of Dental Medicine, as an Associate Clinical Professor in their pediatric dental clinic. She likes helping and teaching young dental students and truly enjoys the hands on experience of sharing her knowledge and skills with those eager to learn.

Dr. Kobils core philosophy is straight forward and simple; to make your child feel comfortable, happy and safe, while at the same time, providing the best possible quality of dental care available. Another goal is to develop a trust and bond between child and doctor. This starts at the top with Dr. Kobil and transcends to all her office staff as well. They believe in treating your child the same way they would treat their own children; with love, care and compassion. We relate to the child on the childs level. Dr. Kobil has been seen many times joking with, singing to and just having fun with the kids. She is passionate about making children and teens feel comfortable and helping them to eliminate any fears that they may have about going to the dentist. Being a pediatric dentist allows her to keep kids healthy and pain free. Dr. Kobils biggest personal reward is when she can take a scared, crying and difficult child and transform them into happy, smiling patient. This child is now trusting of the dentist and not afraid to come back to the office.

Dr. Kobil has very strong ties in the Butler community as she is extremely active with many local charities and organizations. She is on the Board of Directors for Butler Little Theatre and Community Care Connections. One of Dr. Kobils major community accomplishments was creating a Childrens Dental Hygiene Program for very young children. Dr. Kobil and her staff, present a 45 minute dental program which involves visiting and educating many elementary schools, pre-schools and daycares on proper dental and oral health care. For over 15 years now, this program has reached a dozen or more schools and close to 500 students and young children each spring for Childrens Dental Health Month. Dr.Kobil is also a dental examiner for the Butler Area School District.

If I could give zero stars, I would. I took my daughter here a couple years ago when she was 2 and never went back. The dentist was running late with another appointment. The hygienist was terrible and rude, scared my daughter and was rude about the fact that she was scared. She ended up accidentally stabbing my daughters gums with the dental tool. I had to stop her from continuing because my daughter was screaming and she just stood there with her arms crossed and a scowl on her face until the dentist finally showed up. I hope she no longer works there. I can't say enough bad things about that experience. You'd think a children's dentist would hire people who are capable of working with children of all ages.

The dentist that works there is fantastic but she's leaving to go teach, the dentist that owns the place is TERRIBLE, my 3 year had an appointment to get a crown on and they were running behind Kobil came into to our room to start the work rather than the lady we were seeing. Kobil never once introduced herself, said hello to my kid, or told her what they were going to do. She put her gloves on and told her to open her mouth, my daughter was scared and she told the assistant to get her mouth open after my daughter screamed for 15 min because they were forcing her to open her mouth. Kobil threw her tools down walked out and said this isn't going to work. The other dentist came in talked to her was able to get half the work done but she was still very scared. Kobil was the rudest supposed to be professional I've ever met. Not to mention her kids or grandkids were peeking in the whole time watching the cartoons in our room distracting my daughter. Needless to say we told them not to reschedule and will never return. She is one miserable woman that can't even simply introduce herself. My daughter was great her previous 3 visits with other dentists that actually talk to her and tell her what is going on.

I loved Kobil and her office for the first several years there. Then one day I took my 4 year old in for a filling and when he started to cry because he was scared and the assistant said, "Mommy can only stay if you are good." Why someone would think that is appropriate to say to a scared child is beyond me. The rest of the appointment just went downhill from there. They were so rude and clearly irritated that they were having to deal with a frightened child. I don't know why you would go into pediatric dentistry if you aren't willing and able to handle anxious kids. We never went back.

My children went to this practice for the first time recently and both enjoyed their visit so much they asked to go back. We switched dentists due to needing an in-network dentist and were sad about leaving the dentist we previously visited but Dr Kobils office exceeded our expectations. They are extremely kid friendly and make getting teeth cleaned a fun and enjoyable experience. This office came highly recommended by many mothers who travel upwards of an hour to get to this office. I'm surprised that there aren't more reviews.

Walked in with our 2 year old and 8 month old children. First thing you notice is that the place is kind of dirty, very outdated, and smelled. Then after sitting there for a few minutes we could loudly hear the receptionist stating on the phone how she "wanted to punch someone in the throat and spit on their car." Then we go back into the open dentist room with 4 chairs in there and the assistant tells us that it is perfectly normal for our daughter to scream and cry. Umm, no... we're not going to do that. First visit, last visit.

Best Childhood Dentist Ever! The techs are super sweet and always have prizes and rewards after having your teeth cleaned. I had major mouth surgery as a child and now 15 years later my teeth and mouth are better than ever because of her! She made it fun to go to the dentist! I highly recommend her!
