Dr. Matthew Knutson (Dr. Matt) is a Vermillion native. He attended elementary, middle, and high school in Vermillion. Dr. Matt earned his Eagle Scout award in the Vermillion troop 66 and played football as a Tanager. After high school, Dr. Matt was awarded the Presidential Alumni scholarship to attend the University of South Dakota and in '99, graduated with honors as a University Scholar. Dr. Matt then went on to the University of Minnesota School of Dentistry (UNM Dentistry) and upon graduation in 2003, joined his father's dental practice. Dr. Matt enjoys all aspects of dentistry and looks forward to the challenges each new day presents. With his training, Dr. Matt brings implant and Invisalign excellence to the office.

Dr. Richard Knutson (Dr. Richard) graduated from USD while serving in the National Guard. He then attended UNL College of Dentistry and upon completion of his DDS in 1977 he opened this practice in Vermillion and has been serving the community ever since. When he cannot be found at the practice, Dr. Richard enjoys hunting and fishing and is on the Archery League.

He and his wife, Virginia raised a family of 5 children here in Vermillion, the oldest of which is his partner in the practice.The couple is blessed with 9 grandchildren and recently celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary.

Dr. Brandon Jensen (Dr. Brandon) grew up in Papillion, NE. After high school, he attended undergrad at Midland Lutheran College, where he earned his bachelors degree in biology. He then attended the UNMC College of Dentistry in Lincoln, NE and graduated with his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2005. Dr. Brandon has been practicing dentistry in the Tri-state area for 13 years and enjoys helping patients achieve their best smiles! With his years of experience and training, he has found a passion for Endodontics and is certified in Invisalign.

When he is not working, Dr. Brandon enjoys spending time with his wife Kira, and their two children, Carsten and Ainsley. He also enjoys gaming with friends, golfing, fishing, and watching Cornhusker Football! Dr. Brandon is excited to join the Knutson Dental Team and provide compassionate and quality dental care to the Vermillion community.

Tracey has worked for Knutson Family Dentistry since 1997 and has been a patient of the clinic since she was 7. She graduated from the University of South Dakota dental hygiene program in 1997 with a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, as well as a minor in biology.

Kendra was born and raised in Spencer, IA and graduated in 2016. After high school she attended Northwestern College in Orange City, IA where she ran track and cross country for two years. She then transferred to the University of South Dakota and graduated from the dental hygiene program in May of 2020.

She recently joined our office in October of 2020 and is so excited to begin her hygiene career. She loves being able to help others find comfort in their dental experience and offers personalized care for all patients. In her free time she loves spending time with family, friends and her yorkie, Ellie, who runs the house and keeps her on her toes. She also enjoys running, biking or soaking up the sun.

Jaida was born in Luverne, MN but moved to Vermillion, SD shortly after her 4th birthday and has grown up here ever since. In 2017, Jaida graduated from VHS and attended USD where she then graduated in May of 2021 from the Dental Hygiene program.

Jaida and her husband, Drew, own a home in Vermillion where they raise their four legged fur baby, Graycie. In her free time she loves going for runs, enjoying country concerts with her husband, and spending the weekend at the lake with family. She is very excited to see all the smiling faces from the community that she has called home for so long

Carrie joined the practice in October of 2021. She loves getting to know the patients and strives to make them feel comfortable and relaxed while providing great patient care. Carrie, her husband Corey, and her daughter Taylor, currently live in Ponca, NE with their energetic beagle puppies, Mollie and Mabel. In her free time, Carrie enjoys boating, fishing, reading and spending time with her family and puppies.

Ashley spent the younger half of her childhood in Austin, Texasand then moved to Yankton, South Dakota when she was 11. She graduated from Gayville-Volin School in 2012. In 2015, Ashley and her husband, Andrew, got married and bought their first home together. In March of 2020 they welcomed their first daughter into the world.

She joined the practice in April2018 and loves the chance to get to know everyone. In her free time, she enjoys watching her favorite football team, traveling with her family, and finding their next big adventure.

She joined the practice in October 2014and enjoys building relationships with our patients and assisting the doctors in a scope of procdures. She values the connections with her coworkers who are like a second familyand that makes coming to work a pleasure for her. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her sons and step-daughter. She loves to watch her son participating in sports, being outdoors, repurposing, crafting, cooking and baking.

Darian grew up in Yankton, SD. She moved to Vermillion and began college at USD in 2017. She then transferred to Western Iowa Tech in Sioux City, IA. She graduated with an Associates of Applied Science degree, Associate of Arts degree, and is a Certified Dental Assistant through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB).

She joined the practice in May 2020. In her spare time she enjoys golfing, going on the river, spending time with her friends and family, and cheering for the Minnesota Vikings and Twins. She is a proud dog mom of a 2 year old toy Australian Shepard named Buxton as well!

Hailey is originally from Bryant, SD. She graduated from Hamlin High School in 2016. She recently graduated from Lake Area Technical Institute with her Associates ofApplied Science degree in DentalAssisting. She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences online through the University of South Dakota.

Brittni graduated from Whiting High School in Whiting, IA in 2012. After graduation, she moved to Sioux City, IA where she met her future husband, Shawn and bonus daughter. In 2017, they relocated to Vermillion and were married in 2018. Together they have two beautiful children and two wild fur babies.
