Dr. Knapp grew up in Kalamazoo, MI, where he attended Kalamazoo Central High School. He continued his education at the University of Michigan where he received his bachelors and masters degrees in Biomedical Engineering, and then his Dental Degree. Dr. Knapp completed his specialty training at Seton Hill University outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and received his masters degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Knapp is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics, Michigan Association of Orthodontics, American Dental Association, Michigan Dental Association, and West Michigan District Dental Society. He is also President of the West Michigan Dental Foundation and sits on the Byron Center Chamber of Commerce board.
Dr. Knapp lives in Byron Center with his wife, Jenny, son, Oliver and miniature dachshund, Frannie. Together, they enjoy biking the White Pine Trail, walking the beaches of West Michigan, and spending time with their families, who both live in Holland, MI.
Melissa was born in North Carolina, but has lived in Zeeland for most of her life. She graduated from Holland Christian High School and went to Careerline Tech Center for dental hygiene. Melissa and her husband, Josh, live in Borculo, a tiny town of Zeeland along with their daughter Mabel and two dogs. They love to go fishing on their boat and camping in their spare time.
Brooke lives in Jenison with her husband Jason, daughter Paige, and their dog Coal. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, cycling, volunteering at her church and serving in her community. She has been in the orthodontic field for over 20 years! Brooke loves visiting with patients and learning about them.
Amanda is originally from the westside of Grand Rapids and has recently relocated back to the Byron Center area with her family. She keeps busy with her three boys and her family dog, a doodle, Charlie Brown! When she is away from the office, she loves to spend time in northern Michigan boating, swimming and fishing!
Jenny is from Holland, Michigan, where she also attended Hope College. After graduating, she continued her education and became a certified Child Life Specialist and worked with children and families in local hospitals. Jenny and her husband, Dr. Knapp, live in Grand Rapids. She enjoys baking, going for bike rides, and spending time with their 7 nieces and nephews.
Yardley is from Traverse City, Michigan, and recently moved to the Grand Rapids area. She graduated with a dental assisting degree at Northwestern Michigan College. When shes not spending time with her friends and family she enjoys staying active by doing yoga. Her favorite part of orthodontics is meeting new people and learning about their lives!
Tara lives in Zeeland, Michigan where she enjoys spending time along the lakeshore, traveling, and exploring Grand Rapids newest spots with friends and family. Her most recent experience comes from developing community driven, small businesses. She finds her passion in connecting with others and creatively collaborating within the local community!
Shelby is from Hudsonville, Michigan and attended the GRCC Dental Assisting Program. She enjoys spending her summer weekends up north at Big Star Lake with her family and soon-to-be husband, Matt. She has a passion for traveling and seeing new things! She loves being an aunt, playing volleyball, and trying out new restaurants with friends!

Dr. Knapp and his team have the best bedside manner out there. They were able to answer all my questions and concerns about my treatment plan prior to getting started and eased any anxiety around having braces as an adult. I look forward to continue receiving care with this team.

Thus far our experience with Knapp Orthodontics has been great! Dr. Knapp used kid friendly terms when describing the orthodontic process with my son. The staff were friendly and inviting. Dr. Knapp took ample time to explain the process, timeframe and answer any questions that we had. He pulled up pictures of my sons x-rays in order to better show us what he recommended. He offered multiple payment plans and was not pushy. My son is looking forward to getting started!

I have had an amazing and welcoming experience at Knapp Orthodontics and have continued to have as I come to each appointment. I had my braces done here and everyone here is very knowledgeable and each check up is extremely informative.

Sometime the orthodontist can be scary for people, but the people there are so kind and they make sure you have a great experience! My family and I have been going there for a couple years and we love it!
