I love dentistry. For the past 30-plus years, this has been a profession that allows me to change lives one smile at a time. Through my work, I help give people smiles they are pleased with that function perfectly and improve their quality of life.

My personal philosophy is that if you do something, you should do it right. This directly affects my work as a dentist because I believe in providing care that truly helps my patients. I genuinely care for my patients and consider them family.

I received my dental degree in 1981 from Georgetown University School of Dentistry with Magna Cum Laude honors. I also received a Master of Science degree from Long Island University and a Bachelor of Science degree from St. Bonaventure University. I practiced as a commissioned officer in the US Public Health Service until 1983 when I joined this practice.

I believe strongly in improving my knowledge and offering the most current technologies and procedures to all my patients. I am absolutely committed to offering the best treatments, and I believe that continuing education courses and communication with other professionals are the best way to do this.

I take numerous classes and attend seminars every year. My focus is on general, cosmetic, and implant dentistry. I have lectured on the local and state levels and am directly involved with many professional organizations, where Ive taken on leadership roles when I can.

I grew up in Long Island, New York. I moved to beautiful Bradenton after finishing dental school. I served in the US Public Health Service as a commissioned officer for two years. The amazing weather and community made a lasting impression, and I made the easy decision to settle down here. I am happily married to my wonderful wife, Sue. I have two daughters, a granddaughter, a dog, and a cat.

I love living here; it continues to be a great home for my family and me. I am involved in giving back to the community in many ways, including volunteering with Remote Area Medical and as a member of the Manatee Riverside Rotary Club. In my free time, I enjoy sailing, racing, and cruising. I also really like outdoor sports, especially biking and playing tennis.

I knew I wanted to be a dentist when I was a junior in high school. I was very fortunate that the dentist I started seeing at age 12 always made everything so comfortable for me. He was compassionate, truly enjoyed his work, and was excellent technically. I knew that was the kind of dentist I wanted to become.

What excites me as a dentist is the opportunity to help improve the lives of my patients. When a patient tells me I love my new smile, my mouth has never felt better, or that was the easiest dental experience I have ever had, it is always a great feeling!

I received my Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors, (Omicron Kappa Upsilon) in 1981 from the University of Iowa, where I completed my undergraduate and graduate training. I maintained a successful dental practice in Iowa for six years before moving to Florida and joining this practice in 1987.

With my commitment to continuing education, I have received my Fellowship from the Academy of General Dentistry. I have served as president of the Manatee Dental Society and as a board member for more than 20 years, and am a Fellow in the American College of Dentists.

I was born and raised in Iowa and practiced there for six years before I moved to Bradenton in 1987 and joined Drs. Zamikoff and Klement. I have been blessed with a wonderful wife, Donna, three children Adam, Bridget, Elise and one grandchild, Ellie.

I feel it is important to give back to the community and have been involved with Bradenton Kiwanis, Give Back a Smile, and Give Kids a Smile, and I volunteer for the Bill GalvanoOne Stop Center and Turning Points and Remote Area Medical (RAM) in Bradenton.

Sometimes I am asked what I would have pursued for a career if not dentistry. It definitely would have revolved around music. I enjoy playing classical piano, which is a great way to relax and enhance dexterity and a gentle touch while providing dental care.

It is my goal to provide excellent dentistry in a caring and compassionate manner and to create an environment that is as pleasant as possible for my patients. I feel it is important to take time to listen to determine the best path of treatment for each individual patient.

I love the practice of dentistry and it has been a lifelong passion. In my high school senior yearbook, I wrote, University of Florida College of Dentistry. I desired a career in healthcare, working with my hands, and improving peoples lives.

I was introduced to the field of dentistry by my uncle. He showed me that I could do all of this and have time for a family. What I did not realize then and what drives me now are all the fantastic patients that become long-term friends and the continual advances in dentistry that enable me to improve their quality of life.

I had the honor of serving in the United States Navy, Dental Corps. While completing a hospital dental residency, I cared for Marines, and then deployed worldwide with the Seabees during Operation Enduring Freedom 2. Having completed my active duty, I returned home to the Tampa Bay area.

I feel most fortunate to practice with a group of ethical, like-minded, compassionate, and dedicated professionals who are committed to the highest quality of patient care. This commitment has been recognized by our community. Our practice has been awarded the Bradenton Herald Peoples Choice award. Patients immediately recognize the friendly atmosphere of our office with laughter coming from all parts of the practice. I invite you to comeand be a part of our dental family!

While serving as a commissioned dental officer in the United States Navy, I completed a hospital-based dental residency program at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton. As a Lieutenant, I was deployed worldwide with the Seabees during Operation Enduring Freedom II and completed my active duty in 2005.

Continuing education is one of the pillars of my philosophy. It allows me to improve my skills, techniques, and use of new materials. It also provides a forum to gain wisdom from my peers and camaraderie. I have lectured to dentists and physicians concerning topics of mutual interest. I am a member of numerous dental organizations, through which I have gained education and held leadership positions.

I am a first-generation American of Hungarian descent. I was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and raised in the Tampa Bay area since the age of four. I have known my beautiful wife, Angela, since the seventh grade; however, we did not date until I was a Navy officer. She will tell you the Navy made me a man, but I will always be a kid at heart.

Community service is a critical part of giving back to society. I am proud to participate in the Give Kids a Smile program. Our practice is a proud supporter of the nationally awarded Manatee Chamber of Commerce, and I am a member of the Leadership Manatee Alumni Association. I am a past member of the board of directors for the American Cancer Society, Manatee County Chapter. Being an Eagle Scout, I am hoping to guide my son towardthe Boy Scouts of America, and eventually hold a leadership position.

To practice dentistry is a great privilege. Comprehensive dental care involves a person healing physically, esthetically, and psychologically. That process is unique to every individual a and to share in their healing process provides me with enormous personal satisfaction. It is an everyday reminder that my team and I are helping make the world happier one person at a time.

I was raised in Bradenton and graduated from Manatee High School. I went on to receive my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida, where I completed my undergraduate and graduate training. After graduating, I practiced in Jacksonville before joining this office in July 2015.

In my spare time, I enjoy working out and spending time with my wife Stephanie, our French bulldog Luna, and our family and friends. I also have enthusiasm for golfing, fishing, the Florida Keys, and the Florida Gators.

Dr. Jungmam is very caring and knowledgeable. He takes his time with you and does what's in your best interest. He sent me to a specialist Dr. Sullivan for a root canal to see if it could be done. They did the root canal. Dr. Jungman's office staff is helpful and friendly.

I just relocated to Florida from Connecticut and needed a dentist ASAP as I broke my tooth! I contacted my realtor who has been in Florida for over 10 years for a recommendation! She was very happy to tell me about Dr. Douglas Jungman and how she just "loved" him and been going to him for years. When I called Dr. Jungman's office made every effort to get me in as soon as possible. My visit went very well and I feel this is the dentist for my husband and me! His dental practice is state of the art in all aspects! Dr. Jungman very knowledgeable, professional and caring! He told me before I left that if I need anything please contact him any time on any day and either he or a colleagues would see me. Now that's service. If your looking for a dental office in the Sarasota area do yourself a favor and check him out. You won't be sorry!
