Dr. Neal A. Klar started practicing orthodontics in 2000. He is a graduate of the University of Miami, the Medical College of Virginias School of Dentistry, and the University of Detroit Mercy, where he received his orthodontic certificate and Master of Science degree.
He is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He maintains professional memberships with the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Virginia Association of Orthodontists, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Marni Voorhees Husson began practicing orthodontics in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2000 and has been in Virginia Beach since 2002. She is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginias School of Dentistry and the University of Alabama, where she received her orthodontic certificate and Master of Science degree.
Dr. Voorhees Husson is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Virginia Association of Orthodontists, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Patrick Holmes is originally from upstate New York, but has called the Southeast his home since 2005. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Holmes received his dental degree from the VCU School of Dentistry in Richmond. While in dental school, his passion for orthodontics led him to pursue an orthodontic fellowship at the University of Florida followed by a three-year orthodontic residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Virginia Association of Orthodontics and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Holmes enjoys treating both pediatric and adult patients. He has published several articles, and is the current president of the Virginia Beach Dental Study Club. Dr. Holmes loves bringing the latest and greatest in orthodontic technology to his patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Holmes and his wife Dr. Ashley Holmes enjoy tennis, golf, skiing, cooking, photography, and being out on the water. Together with their sons Hudson and Harrison, as well as their two boxers, they could not be happier to call Virginia Beach their home.
Dr. Sarah Pavon Groy grew up in Virginia Beach, and is thrilled to call Tidewater home again!She graduated from Cape Henry Collegiate School and attended the College of William and Mary for her undergraduate studies. After completing her dental education at Temple University in 2011, she attended the University of Maryland, where she was chief resident. There, she specialized in orthodontics and earned her Masters degree in Biomedical Science. She is trained in the latest orthodontic techniques including temporary anchorage devices, laser dentistry, and Invisalign. Dr. Sarah is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Sarah and her husband Dr. Dave Groy have threebeautiful children under the age of 5 who keep them very busy at home.They love living near the beach and can be found most weekends with their family somewhere by the water.

Great first experience at my daughters orthodontist consultation. Rebecca was kind and knowledgeable. She walked us through everything before Dr. Klar came in. He was very kind as well! Told us what to expect and how things would work putting my daughter at ease. Thank you both so much! We will see you soon!

The orthodontist and their team have provided excellent care for my family for over 18+ years. I received braces as a teenager, and I returned when I needed some minor work. My daughter also got to experience braces as well! Everyone is very kind, personable and professional and our absolute favorite is Ashley!! She very friendly, kind, patient and takes her time to make sure your comfortable as you're being treated! I highly recommend them to Everyone!!

Update: After posting my one star review, I recieved a call from the office manager. Bottom line, she fixed the billing issues we had. Our daughter's teeth are great, I just wish it didn't take a poor review to get past some antiquated policies. I would definitely recommend the orthodontic work here though. Billing department is the absolute worst. Overcharged our checking account, did not review insurance increase in the middle of our plan, and now is sending the refund to someone who didn't pay the bill. Have 3 more people that need ortho work and will be going elsewhere to get it done.

I want to give a big shout out to Ms. Chanty, she helped me find my way to the dentist office today. Stayed on the phone giving me directions. Never complained just being so polite. I felt so at ease . She even moved my appointment so that I would not be late. Hats off to her. We need more people like her with kindness and caring attitude for others. I will give her the 5 stars award. Chanty ,Please keep up the good work !

Honestly, I didn't know what to expect when getting braces in my 30s, however I'm glad the experience has been nothing short of amazing. I was a total mess going in but now The kempsville office is like my second family. Dr. Patrick is hands down the coolest Orthodontist I've ever come across and he is kind, attentive and most of all, he treats his staff well. Everyone speaks highly of him and they always seem to have a positive work atmosphere in that office. I mean, they could be faking it but that seems highly unusual lol. Most visits I have the pleasure of being assisted by Stasha and she is my best friend at the Kempsville office lol. We catch up on friends, family and life in between ... and before you know it my appointment is over. I know once It's time to remove my train tracks, I will miss my second family. I've visited 2 other locations for dental emergencies and even then, the pleasantries are unmatched. Truly love you guys and if you're looking for an orthodontic office that gives you the feels.... Trust Klar Vorheees. You won't regret it, I promise.

My daughter just received her top braces today and the service provided was very professional and overall a great first time experience for her. Also, as the mom, my experience was equally as pleasant. I was greeted immediately by Chaney, the front desk clerk. She was very clear on the process moving forward and worked with my schedule when it came to scheduling my daughter's follow-up appointment....First impressions have always been very important to me. I hope to see her every visit.

We were in Virginia on vacation and while having lunch, one of my brackets popped off my braces and the wire got loose. I started to panic as we had just started our trip and I didn't want to have to chew on one side of my mouth for the next 7 days. We called several orthodontists, and after a few attempts, we found Klar Voorhees Holmes Orthodontics. When we arrived at the office, the people there were so welcoming, warm and friendly. They clipped my wire, tightened it, and made sure that I felt comfortable. At the end, we expected to get billed, but they said not to worry about it and there was no charge. I highly recommend Klar Voorhees because they put care and customer needs over making a few extra dollars. If we lived in the area, they would be out first choice for dental care.

I was a patient at Klar Voorhees years ago. I called the office recently on a Friday afternoon with a question regarding my daughter. I wasn't sure if they would be able to assist since she is technically not a client. Chanty answered the call and she (along with the other office representative) went above and beyond to assist with all of my questions with extreme care & concern. Chanty also put together a cute little package for me to pick up for my daughter. It was clear that they treat EVERYONE like a part of the family and the level of customer care was superb!

My daughter just got her braces on. Dr. Holmes and his assistant, Shawn Roberts, we're so lovely to work with. Being a kid can be challenging and having people notice and comment on your natural beauty- no matter how that actually looks physically- is such a wonderful thing. Shawn made sure to tell my daughter what beautiful teeth she had and how she was such a lovely girl. Shawn has such a gift for seeing the beauty in others and helping them to see it too. Dr. Holmes, who came highly recommended by my dentist, is very personable and informative. The lady who put on my daughter's braces was also. I am very grateful to have met such a wonderful group of people.

Dr. Groy is fantastic! She worked with my oral surgeon and prepared me for jaw surgery. She is thorough, patient, professional, and honest. She treated me with such kindness and after almost 2 years of braces she was just as excited as I was when they came off. Her personality is just awesome. Will be sending my children to her when they are ready for braces.

I love visiting the Kempsville office! Dr. Neal Klar, Rebecca, and the ladies at front desk always put me at easy and a smile on my face when discussing my treatment. I had such a great experience today at the Klar Voorhees Orthodontics Kempsville office. The staff and doctors are so friendly, inviting and knowledgeable. When I left my appointment I felt so informed and happy with the decision I made. Rebecca and Dr.Klar are so sweet and genuine !

I have been a patient of Dr. Marni and "Christina", at the Hilltop Office, for the past two years, and am nearing the end of my treatment. As an adult in my 60s, that has suffered with misaligned teeth my entire life, I never thought it would be possible to have this corrected at my age. I started the treatment as per my dentist's recommendation, even though I was a bit skeptical the results would be worth it. As far as I am concerned, the transformation I have experienced is nothing less than miraculous. The results have far exceeded my expectations....It has truly been a life changing experience. I used to feel self conscious when smiling... not the case any longer. Dr. Marni's attention to detail is very much appreciated and I feel fortunate to have benefited from that as a patient of hers.
