Dr. Neal A. Klar started practicing orthodontics in 2000. He is a graduate of the University of Miami, the Medical College of Virginias School of Dentistry, and the University of Detroit Mercy, where he received his orthodontic certificate and Master of Science degree.
He is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. He maintains professional memberships with the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Virginia Association of Orthodontists, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Marni Voorhees Husson began practicing orthodontics in Charlottesville, Virginia in 2000 and has been in Virginia Beach since 2002. She is a graduate of the Medical College of Virginias School of Dentistry and the University of Alabama, where she received her orthodontic certificate and Master of Science degree.
Dr. Voorhees Husson is board-certified by the American Board of Orthodontics. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontists, the Virginia Association of Orthodontists, and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Patrick Holmes is originally from upstate New York, but has called the Southeast his home since 2005. After graduating from the University of Notre Dame, Dr. Holmes received his dental degree from the VCU School of Dentistry in Richmond. While in dental school, his passion for orthodontics led him to pursue an orthodontic fellowship at the University of Florida followed by a three-year orthodontic residency at the Medical University of South Carolina.
He is a member of the American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, the American Association of Orthodontics, the Virginia Association of Orthodontics and the College of Diplomates of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Dr. Holmes enjoys treating both pediatric and adult patients. He has published several articles, and is the current president of the Virginia Beach Dental Study Club. Dr. Holmes loves bringing the latest and greatest in orthodontic technology to his patients.
Outside of the office, Dr. Holmes and his wife Dr. Ashley Holmes enjoy tennis, golf, skiing, cooking, photography, and being out on the water. Together with their sons Hudson and Harrison, as well as their two boxers, they could not be happier to call Virginia Beach their home.
Dr. Sarah Pavon Groy grew up in Virginia Beach, and is thrilled to call Tidewater home again!She graduated from Cape Henry Collegiate School and attended the College of William and Mary for her undergraduate studies. After completing her dental education at Temple University in 2011, she attended the University of Maryland, where she was chief resident. There, she specialized in orthodontics and earned her Masters degree in Biomedical Science. She is trained in the latest orthodontic techniques including temporary anchorage devices, laser dentistry, and Invisalign. Dr. Sarah is a member of the American Association of Orthodontics and the American Dental Association.
Dr. Sarah and her husband Dr. Dave Groy have threebeautiful children under the age of 5 who keep them very busy at home.They love living near the beach and can be found most weekends with their family somewhere by the water.

While the care of my child's teeth was good the customer service was not. One day I came in with my daughter and a child I was watching. A lady came from the back and blurted out in the waiting room "No, no, we are not having this. You have to wait outside." While another parent came in and the same lady calmly without embarking the parent asked if she could wait outside the office. Another time there was an incident with payment. I was getting a new FSA card so I called the office and told them a month prior that my FSA card will expire. They wanted to charge me a late fee. The front desk said that I couldn't change my card with them at first because I had to give them three weeks notice. I told her that I did that. She gave me a phone number to call the main office that there was nothing she could do. I called the main office and she said we can change it and we will not charge you a late fee because you called way in advance. I did have to pay one of my bills on line thou. Even the MD called and said she was not going to charge me a late fee. I paid the January payment late. I would always arrive early because if you miss an appointment or are latei am use to getting a late or cancelation fee. I arrive early and the y would grumble so much that in front of my daughter, at this point I am waiting I the car, that I always come early. Who complains when your patient arrives early. Well the last thing they did set an appointment in the Chesapeake office when I live in Virginia Beach. I must admit the Chesapeake office was friendlier. This review in no way reflects on the techs or MD who worked on my child's teeth. It is exclusively about the customer service from the surrounding staff, in reception, office manager.

I love this place! As soon as you walk in the door, you are greeted by friendly and caring people. Dr Marni and her staff provide excellent, knowledgeable, and professional orthodontic care for my teeth! Ashley adjusted my braces today with comfort and precision. She is amazing! The entire staff is amazing. I am totally relaxed when I am there as I listen to them talk to each other as if they are one big family. I cannot emphasize enough as to the pleasant atmosphere every time I visit Klar Voorhees Holmes orthodontics.

As an adult patient, I had a great deal of trepidation about returning to braces after my childhood agony with them. But my teeth had moved, and I was unhappy with hot they felt and appeared. Dr. "Marni" (Voorhees, but everyone is on a first name basis at this practice) made the entire experience reassuring and upbeat, with a focus on asking me questions about my desired outcomes and offering expert advice. I got clear braces, and many friends say they aren't even noticeable! Ashley, who often does my monthly adjustments, makes the experience fun (with her humor) and enjoyable (through her skill) and she explains what is happening at each step.I especially appreciate that this practice patiently answered questions, and they all clearly work well with all ages of patients. Lots of positive vibes in this office! I highly recommend this practice!

This practice is amazing. We are currently on our 4th member of our family treating with them. The kindness of the doctors and staff and the ease of doing business is great. Our son just got his bottom braces on today and Ashley could not have been more helpful and fun to work with. Highly recommend!!

My son's cheeks are torn up from his spacers and no one mentioned any wax earlier or that the wires were even a likely issue. Have to drive all the way back up there for wax; so wasteful and inconvenient. He is not the first kid to have spacers put in and this was absolutely a foreseen item on their end.

Dr. Sarah and hygienist assistant Ashley are very awesome. Thank you so much for your care, concern and most of all making me feel like home. It's truely a blessing having awesome people like you two taking care of me. Everytime I come to Klar Voorhees Holmes I feel more confident in my smile. In the past I would not smile at all. I was very ashame of my teeth. I begin to see my smile coming together all because of awesome people like you two. So thank you so much Hilltop Klar Voorhees practice for everything you do especially Dr. Sarah and Ashely.

My kids actually look forward to going to the orthodontist! The staff is kind and knowledgeable, and the appointments are always smooth. Dr. Neal and Dr. Marni take so much time with us to explain everything and make the kids feel comfortable. Dental assistant Ashley took care of us today- she was fantastic!

Ashley helped me out so much at my visit today. My dogs destroyed my retainers and I am normally horrible with getting molds done. Ashley helped me every step of the way and made it a pleasant experience. The office even made the retainers the same day so I was able to go home with them!

Everyone at the Hilltop location is wonderful! The service is outstanding and from the beginning of the journey to now everyone including Dr. Neal, the doctors and techs have been very professional, knowledgeable and down to earth. Specifically, ASHLEY is a gem of a person and my favorite tech! I look forward to seeing her each visit! She is friendly, efficient, tends to your needs and always makes your day brighter.
