At Kita Orthodontics, we are dedicated to providing the best orthodontic care for you and your family in a friendly, fun and comfortable environment. It is our goal to make each and every visit with us a pleasant and happy experience. We value our patients and their decision to choose our office, and strive to exceed their expectations. As a dedicated team, our goal is to treat patients with respect and integrity while implementing the most current and advanced techniques.

Its more important than ever to brush and floss regularly when you have braces, so the teeth and gums are healthy during orthodontic treatment. Patients who do not keep their teeth clean may require more frequent visits to the dentist for a professional cleaning. Adults who have a history of gum disease should also see a periodontist during orthodontic treatment. Watch the two videos below on the proper care of braces during orthodontic treatment.

What can you eat? Lets talk about what you shouldnt eat! For the first day or so, stick to soft foods. Avoid tough meats, hard breads, and raw vegetables. Before long, youll be able to bite a cucumber again. But youll need to protect your orthodontic appliances when you eat for as long as youre wearing braces.

When you get your braces on, you may feel general soreness in your mouth and teeth may be tender to biting pressures for 3 5 days. Take Tylenol or whatever you normally take for headache or discomfort. The lips, cheeks and tongue may also become irritated for one to two weeks as they toughen and become accustomed to the braces. We will supply wax to put on the braces in irritated areas to lessen discomfort.

To successfully complete orthodontic treatment, the patient must work together with the orthodontist. The teeth and jaws can only move toward their corrected positions if the patient consistently wears the rubber bands or other appliances as prescribed. Lack of cooperation following instructions and damaged appliances lengthen the treatment time so please follow instructions.

Dr. Kita did a fabulous job on all 3 of our kids' braces. They all have beautiful and confident smiles now. We also loved his staff. Would recommend him to anyone!

At 50 I found myself with Cancer and I was tired of being sad. I wanted to smile pretty but my overbite, crooked bottom teeth plus top lateral incisor showing part of the bone and moving on top of being twisted to the back made it hard. I was refused treatment by the military and couple of others Orthodontics in my area. My regular dentist recommended me to Dr. Kita and told me he has a record of making the impossible possible...she was right! Dr. Kita told me it won't be easy but it will be possible and though the Invisaligns did not work on my case, he never gave up, he went back to regular braces, made adjustments & reassured me of good results. Love Dr. Kita and his professional staff. They make me feel at ease and treat me like family. They are kind, respectful and always looking to make my appointments flexible and even keeping in touch if I have to travel in between treatments. I can "smile pretty" now, very satisfied with the treatment and results. Thanks to everyone at Kita Orthodontics' Office!
