Dr. Raphael Ason began his undergraduate studies in the University of Miami and completed his studies in Florida Atlantic University, obtaining a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He then obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the University of Florida Dental School.
He attended medical school at New York University, where he received his Doctorate in Medicine. While pursuing his M.D., he also was dually enrolled in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He was awarded a Specialty Certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery upon completing the six-year program at NYU.
While at New York University, Dr. Ason had extensive training in complicated exodontia, basic implant cases, and complex implant cases requiring bone grafts and bone-block grafts. In terms of his hospital training, Dr. Ason was extensively trained in maxillofacial trauma such as jaw fractures, cheekbone fractures, and pan-facial trauma consisting of several facial fractures in one traumatic event. The vast majority of his training was in pathology, such as benign and malignant tumors of the jaws.
At NYU, he learned how to use computer virtual surgery prior to the actual surgery. In other words, Dr. Ason can perform a surgery on a computer and learn exactly how to do the case before even starting the case in the operating room. This cutting-edge approach enhances the precision of the surgery, cuts down on surgical time, and ultimately leads to less pain and swelling. This technology is available in his office ranging from a simple wisdom tooth extraction to a jaw reconstruction. He also has extensively studied and trained in Botox Cosmetic Therapy and facial fillers to enhance facial cosmetic appearance.
His professional work experience includes externships in Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida, Shands Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida, John Peter Smith in Fort Worth, Texas, and the University of North Carolina. He then became a Teaching Fellow at the New York University College of Dentistrys Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and moved on to become Chief Resident at Bellevue Hospital Center.
The Sunshine State beckoned and Dr. Ason returned to Florida, where he has now started his own practice in Kissimmee. He is a board certified Diplomat of Oral and Maxilofacial Surgeons. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Dental Association and the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He also has been published in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and has presented once in the annual American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons meeting.

I've had 4 teeth pulled before and never felt a pinch, came here today got 2 teeth pulled and was told I would feel pressure but no pain but some how I felt all of it, and it was excruciating. I was also told before they started the extractions that my medication was sent over to my pharmacy and should be ready by the time I leave, but after arriving to my pharmacy and waiting Literally an hour and a half that nothing was ever received but by this time the office is closed so I can't even call th and have to be in pain all night till they open smh

I had took 2 tooth before with different doctors but I when to oral surgery and doctor ason is good and is for real... he's good took him 10 minutes and I didn't even feel nothing.... thanks doctor!!!!

Came here yesterday thinking I was only getting two wisdom teeth removed, but they decided to tell me last minute they were removing all four at once. The staff was nice but the surgeon Dr. Ason was very mean, he was annoyed by my questions and even told me he was going to stop in the middle of surgery if I didn't stop crying. Don't recommend.

I was extremely nervous about having my 13 year old daughter get all 4 of her wisdom teeth out , the staff and Dr were very helpful and answered any questions I had . She was referred by her dentist because she was having pain in her mouth. I was so lucky they were able to see her the following day after I called . The wait time is RIDICULOUSLY long ... over 2 hours after the appointment time. So I would suggest you bring everything you need and PLAN on spending at least 3 hours there also expect to be seating in your car because the waiting room is so tiny it DOES NOT accommodate the amount of people waiting, the traffic of people is unbelievable. But staff and Doctor are extremely helpful with any concerns you may have
