Breastfeeding is one of the most important activities for an infant. It not only ensures proper nutrition and overall health of the child, but it also helps the mom and baby to bond. But did you know breastfeeding can affect the dental health of both child and mom?

According to research, children who are breastfed exhibit more facial muscle activity compared to their bottle-fed counterparts. The sucking process promotes the development of facial muscles and bones.

Theres no definite time when you should stop breastfeeding your baby. It is perfectly healthy to continue breastfeeding even after the babys teeth come in. You should focus on whats best for you and your baby and do what you think is right for you.

  • Changes in oral hygiene practices A new baby can disrupt your daily life activities, including your oral hygiene routine, leading to an increased risk of cavities. Hence, its crucial to remain committed to a proper oral hygiene regimen.
  • Lactation cookies If you have trouble generating enough milk for your baby, you may need to use lactation cookies. These cookies contain ingredients that promote milk production. Additionally, they are high in sugar, which raises the risk of cavities.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Dr. Philips was great. We really liked her! The waiting area was very clean and had some toys for my twins to play with while we waited for my son's teeth to be cleaned. Very happy with how our visit went!

I look at the positive reviews for this facility and feel obligated to share the horrible experience my son had with Dr. Hernandez. I will begin by saying that based on our brief interaction before my son's exam, I can tell that Dr. Hernandez is a very knowledgeable woman. However, this is only one aspect of her profession as a pediatric dentist. Her website states the following- "Dr. Hernandez's understanding of the influence of a child's temperament and age appropriate expectations creates an environment of trusted safety. A supportive and empathetic approach, along with many years of experience gently guiding children through treatment, has made the need for sedation rare in our office." Sadly, my son saw none of this on his first trip to the dentist. When she entered the office, she engaged with me, asked me questions about my son, and offered insight; it was appreciated. However, when she began to work on my son and he became uncomfortable and then quickly irate, her persona changed. I would be surprised if it were even five minutes before she became agitated enough to walk out of office and state that she could not complete the exam. Her attitude was something I would expect from a from a frustrated parent, not a licensed professional that has been practicing children's dentistry for over 30 years. My son was scared, and she shamed him for his fear instead of empathizing with him as she claims to do on her website. When I asked if I could give him some water and try to calm him down, she replied with an attitude and stated that she was "almost finished." When my son became so upset, that he retreated to hide she said verbatim, "he's hiding like my dog." I do not know on what planet this would be deemed professional or acceptable, however here on planet Earth it is neither. I also do not understand how she expected my child to calm down with her hostility. In addition to her lack of patience, she also failed to offer any parental support during this melt down. Let me tell you what she could have done differently-- "Hey Mom, we might not be able to finish the exam today, but from what I saw, everything looks okay. Here is what we can do next time to better prepare Nolan for his exam and curve some of his anxiety ________________" Instead, she sent her staff in to tell me that she saw no cavities. She did not even take the time to circle back and smooth things over. In 30 years of practicing children's dentistry, I imagine Dr. Hernandez has seen her fair share of meltdowns. I pray that we caught her on a bad day and other children who experience this same fear do not receive this kind of treatment. I was so upset leaving the office, it went over my head that I had to pay for the service. Thankfully, the woman at the front desk was kind enough to wait until I was finished comforting my son in the parking lot and called me for payment; then bringing out my receipt and his doctors note for school. The review needs minimum of 1 star but let us say it is for her and not Dr. Hernandez.

We had an amazing experience!! The woman at the front desk was very sweet! The dental hygienists were so gentle and made my kids feel comfortable! The dentist knows her stuff and she explains things so well. The office is super clean and they have a cool treasure box for the kiddos as well as coffee for the parents! We were in and out within an hour for 3 kids. No need to look further because this place is awesome for us

Dentist is great when your kids have a chance to see her in the visit, which is not always, but I guess is pretty normal in general, BUT her staff its awful. Not polite, appears to be in bad mood every time that you call. Its clear that they do not have the love as the dentist. So sad of their service, that is why I am moving my kids to a different dentist. So sorry Dr. Iris!!

Poor rating due to the lack of customer service. I called today to make an appointment for my two children, and the receptionist answering the phones had an attitude. Customer service is everything, and my first encounter with a business sets the tone. I decided to not even waste my time, and called another Pediatric Dentistry in the area and was greeted with exceptional customer service, and professional. It's sad too, based on the reviews it seems like the dentist here is phenomenal.
