Dr. Jessica Hsu opened Kirkland Periodontics & Implants in 2020. Her vision was to build a brand new practice specifically designed to serve patients in an environment that is soothing and stress-free.Our second-floor office offers high ceilings and windows in each operatory giving private, serene views of the treetops with plenty of soft natural lighting.
Constructed during the COVID-19 pandemic, our office integrates the latest air filtration and sterilization equipment while going above and beyond the most stringent health guidelines from the American Dental Association to keep our patients safe and healthy.
Dr. Jessica Hsu was born and raised in Sugar Land, TX a stones throw away from Imperial Sugar Mill. As a child she learned how to horseback ride before she learned how to ride a bike. Her parents, Robert and Jennie Hsu, first generation immigrants from Taiwan, were the first of the family to leave their home country for the United States in order to pursue further education in post-graduate studies. Her father is a now-retired chemical engineer; her mother was a homemaker who ran multiple small home businesses, including a real estate and rental agency. Both parents grew up with very little dental education and have struggled with periodontal disease throughout their lives.
Her father has multiple dental implants and absolutely loves them. This joy led to him introducing his dentist to his daughter, Dr. Hsu, while she was still in college and in search of her career path at the University of California, San Diego. As a result of this introduction, her fathers dentist became her mentor and spurred a lifelong passion for surgery and dental care. Growing up with an immense sweet tooth and always dreading going to the dentist, it never failed that every time she saw the dentist she would have a new cavity to be filled and a fat lip to go home with. From her perspective at the time, dental decline was inevitable and dentists were the bearers of bad news. However, because of her relationship with her mentor, Dr. Hsu was able to learn the fundamentals of dental health while pursuing her education in dentistry and helped her internalize the importance of preventative dental hygiene and resolve her dental fears and anxieties.
Dr. Hsu attended University of California San Diego achieving her Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Cell Biology with fields of focus in economics and Chinese where she graduated magna cum laude with Provost Honors. Dr. Hsu furthered her education at Columbia University, College of Dental Medicine in New York City to earn her Doctorate degree in Dental Surgery. After completion of dental school, Dr. Hsu continued on to specialize in the field of Periodontics and Implant surgery at a three-year residency program at the University of Washington. Here she obtained her specialty certificate in Periodontology and Dental Implantology and defended her thesis in mucosal immunity to achieve a Master of Science in Dentistry. Dr. Hsu is a Board Certified Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology, an elected member of the Academy of Osseointegration, and is recognized as The Top Periodontist in Bellevue Washington by Women in Medicine, July 2020.
On a personal note, Dr. Hsu is fluent in both conversational Chinese and Japanese. She enjoys hiking through the Cascades with her six year old husky Nymeria, gardening with a brown thumb, snowboarding at Crystal Mountain, journalistic amateur photography, home cooking, and most importantly eating.
Morgan has extensive experience in the service industry where she has held lead positions with responsibilities training new staff, supply and inventory management for multiple work sites, as well as marketing material production in film media. She takes great pride in going above and beyond to ensure that those who come in contact with her receive the best experience possible.
Morgan is originally from the Seattle area but has also lived on the Central Coast of California. Whether it be hiking, snowboarding, or catching the sunset, youll find Morgan outside enjoying all that the PNW has to offer.
Wendy has recently joined the dental industry and is very grateful to work with such an amazing team. Wendy is a registered dental assistant and enjoys learning and continuing her education in dentistry. She is always ready to take on challenges and expanding her knowledge. Wendy loves working in the dental field and aspires to become a Dental Hygienist. Outside of work, she enjoys hikes and walks around downtown. She has a one year old daughter that she adores, and loves spending time with her family.
Ruxanda is originally from the Republic of Moldova (Eastern Europe) and immigrated to Washington with her husband in 2014. Back in Moldova, she was a winemaker and had a change of heart when coming to America with the desire to pursue her dream to become a dental assistant. She is loving it ever since and could not be happier. She is looking forward to continuing her education to become a Dental Hygienist.
Claire has over 22 years of experience in dentistry working as a dental assistant, in office management, and as a practice coach for various dental offices.During this time, Claire earned her BS in Business Management and her MS in Organizational Management and Leadership which has allowed her to blend her experience in various roles within dental offices with her business acumen. Claire's love of dentistry as well as business has brought her to where she is at in her career with supporting dental practices and patients in achieving their professional and dental goals. Currently, Claire lives part-time in Colorado with her husband and two sons, and part-time in Seattle. In her free time she loves to coach and participate in Crossfit, is a cycling enthusiast, and enjoys traveling with her family. In addition to these hobbies and interests, Claire also serves on the Young Professionals Board in the northwest region for Dogs for Better Lives, a non-profit that connects service dogs to those living with Autism.

Dr. Hsu took excellent care of my infected and damaged tooth. We agreed that it needed to be extracted but she explained everything and she did an amazing job. Hardly any discomfort and no pain. After that healed she did a smooth job with my sinus lift and implant placement. She and her team provided excellent pre-op and post-op instructions which were super helpful. Hopefully all will be almost good as new after my dentist places the new tooth on the implant.

I had an appointment with Dr Hsu. One of the best doctors I have encountered... incredibly smart and knowledgeable. I was very impressed with how thorough they were. I never had this kind of experience at any dental or doctor office

If you're in need of a professional who handles dental implants and who offers the ultimate care when it comes to bedside manner, do yourself a favor and allow Dr. Hsu at Kirkland Periodontics to handle your needs. Not only is Dr. Hsu a top-shelf professional in her field, she is also incredibly attentive and passionate in her follow up emails making sure that you're doing well. And then there's her staff - a group of professional ladies led by my buddy Morgan who makes you feel at home the minute you walk in. I mean c'mon, we all know these procedures aren't cheap, so why wouldn't you seek the best care and most professional experience imaginable when it comes to dental implants? I'm telling you - the people at Kirkland Periodontics and Implants will take extraordinary care of you. I promise!

No one really wants to go to a Periodontist yet if you have to, please consider Kirkland Periodontics & Implants! This group is highly professional, very friendly and reasonably priced. The office is located in a great area with free parking. The set-up is amazing and cleary very tech-forward; it is a very comfortable and peaceful environment. Scheduling and follow-up was excellent and when I needed to move an appointment, it was very easy. I am also grateful for the care and concern shown for my well being before, during and after the procedure. Thank you!

Just as the other reviewers stated, a friendly, highly competent, office staff and personnel. A happy place to walk into. Dr. Hsu has established an atmosphere of respect with an emphasis on clear, informative communication. I have spent many hours in the chairs of professionals. These are the best I have encountered in 55 years.

tl;dr: Dr. Hsu knows what she is doing. Her confidence and the results speak for themselves. My dentist recommended me to see a periodontist for my gum problem and I chose Dr. Hsu and her team based on the positive online reviews from their patients. The office atmosphere and equipment are state-of-the-art; everyone is warm and welcoming. Throughout the 6 month-period covering the diagnosis, pre-workups, an oral surgery I eventually received, and the follow-ups, everyone in the office embodied excellence. I very much appreciate Dr. Hsu's expertise, her accommodations, and exceptional bedside manner, which goes the same for all the staff, too (Morgan and Wendy worked with me). I will recommend Kirkland Periodontics & Implants to my family and friends for their dental/periodontal needs. Here's to hoping that I won't see Dr. Hsu from hereon--only because it would otherwise mean that something's wrong in my mouth again--but I highly doubt that based on the surgery outcome (unless I started brushing too hard again). But if I were to see her again, I'd predict it would be with a smile. Thank you, Dr. Hsu!

Wish I could give more stars in this rating. I have never waited or wanted for anything at Kirkland Periodontics. Every single person I have encountered there has been polite, engaging and professional. It is a first class business from top to bottom. Dr. Hsu has a feather light touch and never seems rushed. She takes the time to explain all the procedures so I feel confident about any decisions I have to make in my treatment. If you are in need of the services they provide I highly recommend them.

I am so thrilled with the experience that I had with Dr. Hsu, Kirkland Periodontics and the entire staff. In the past, when I would have dental work at other offices I would dread it and when I was there I was so prepared for pain that my knuckles would swell from the clinching.. But, Dr Hsu and her staff made me feel like I was having a Spa experience. From the first contact, thru the procedure, the post op and everything in between. I almost was hoping to have other teeth to fail so I can ring up Dr Hsu for another visit. As a matter of fact, I think the last time I was there I was enjoying myself so much that I decided to stay, well of course when you do that, after a while the janitor shows up to clean the office and tells you that your stay must come to an end. So in closing, I honestly must say that this was the finest dental experience I have had and cannot recommend Dr Hsu's Kirkland Periodontics office enough. PS. if you show up in Spa sandles and robe, they won't even be surprised. This place is special.

Everything about this office is amazing. First, the interior design is like a comforting luxury spa; second, the staff is super kind and professional; finally, the doctor is a rock star. Nothing about periodontics or implants is inviting, but if it is necessary, the first class care and quality follow up from Kirkland Periodontics will definitely make you feel that you are in good hands. I would give 6 stars if it were an option. This office was the right choice for my gum recession surgery. I hope I never need another surgery, but if I do I would never go anywhere else.

Dr. Hsu has helped my to achieve an improvement in my gum health that is nothing short of amazing! Highly recommend!! The level of professionalism at this office is great. I am in the process of receiving my first implant. It has required a tooth extraction, bone graft, the actual implant. . all over a series of several appointments and several months. I expect to have at least one other implant in the future and will not hesitate to seek Dr. Hsu again. She is exceptionally sensitive to the patient's comfort and making the experience minimally painful. Besides applying great skill and deftness, she is warm and friendly. Her staff is similarly responsive, efficient, and adept.
