As oral and maxillofacial surgeons, we feel bound to educate our patients as much as possible about their options. To this end, the staff has a wide variety of pamphlets, videotapes and other educational materials which you may be given or asked to watch at some point during your visit in this office. We have reviewed these materials and in some cases even written them ourselves to assure the most accurate and up-to-date information is available to you. We will hold nothing back from you and we encourage your questions and comments on this literature as we constantly work to improve it.
Dr. Kippax grew up in Maine and graduated from Gray-New Gloucester High School. He has practiced in Lewiston since 1990 and currently provides oral and maxillofacial trauma services to Central Maine Medical Center. He is licensed in Maine, Vermont, and Massachusetts. He lives locally and his hobbies are anything to do with dogs, fourwheeling, skiing, and diving as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Lewiston-Auburn Kennel Club, actively supporting various Animal Humane societies in the state and is a member of the Great Pyrenees Club of America.

Very traumatizing experience, please look elsewhere. The absolute worst dental experience of my life. I do not feel he should have gotten his license back.

This place is no good My wife was in so much paid she had tears in her eyes she went to get her tooth pulled after waiting all day She got there for them to say they made an error and they can't take her Now that it's 3 o'clock It's on a Friday afternoon when nobody's open all weekend you tell somebody you can't pull their tooth because of an era That's pretty messed up

My daughter in law had been having tooth pain. Nobody could get her in. Dr Kippax and the great staff took great care of her. I appreciate all the care and understanding she received there.

Absolutely would recommend, from the moment I called in my emergency today, to the time I left the office on the same day! Everyone was kind and understanding. Lots of support from both his assistants and Kippax DMD. He is fast and efficient and very patient.

Fantastic dentist !!! Walked in with a shattered wisdom tooth on the verge of infection...was given a prescription and an appointment for extraction...two days later at my convenience saw the Dr and he and his staff treated me like family and took great care in explaining everything and showed genuine concern for my recovery. Love these people. Could not be more satisfied!!!

I was refered to this dentist i was told not to use him by family members because he was said to have his license suspended. Now i know why. Yes he did get the tooth out but at a cost. The tooth directly beside it is my wisdom tooth which i have never had an issue with now and has started to have pain in it from his rough extracting method. Not enough novicaine i felt everything. This has got to be the worst extraction i have ever endured. After giving me what he thought was enough novicaine, i was handed a checklist to initial. A 2 page discaimer stating i was aware of possible things that may result in a tooth extraction. I will never use Dr Pick Axes services again. Now i have to make an appointment with my normal dentist to see what damage has been done to a perfect tooth that now reacts bad to cold liquids and now has a slight wiggle. So update: i recoeved a bill a couple weeks after posting this for $80.00. I paid my bill in full when i was there. The secretary called my insurance company. They both ran the numbers and i was given a total on the percentage i would have to pay. My insurance coveres 70%. Great i paid $86.00. The problem is that the math does not add up. At all. By his calculations i was to pay more than 50% of this bill. Anyway, im calling my insurance company to figure this out because i have never paid over 50%

I paid nearly 1000 for son extraction. Was charged 10 for a copy of office notes and the billing breakdown. Nickel dime outrageous. I didn't have a problem paying the medical bill for my son but being charged for the bill and office notes of the procedure was insulting. Staff is great. Dr Kippax is arrogant as hell.

Just another bad review for this guy. Very unprofessional, asked questions before extraction that were ILLEGAL for anyone to ask concerning medical care. ARROGANT. He actually thought 96 degrees was a legitimate body temperature when they got stats before the surgery... then his wife, why should we know it's his wife, told her ENTIRE life story and had to be reminded three (3) times to take blood pressure so we could leave because she was so distracted by the one way conversation. Even if you had to pay double what this guy charges, it would be money well spent. Put this guy out of business!

From the first phone call to the procedure with Dr. Kippax, the staff at Androscoggin Oral has been so wonderful and compassionate. They went out of their way to accommodate my situation, got me in in less than 24 hours and were just amazing! I would highly recommend them!

Had really bad infection in a couple of teeth. Needed to be seen quickly. They got me right in. Needed to be sedated and was just terrified of being sedated and put to sleep. Dr. Kippax and his nurses were unbelievably helpful in completely calming my nerves and worries. I would have no hesitation recommending him to anyone. Thank you all

They got me in same day with a cracked infected molar, prices were reasonable, the staff was polite and professional and despite my fears I'm quite surprised by how quickly and effectively he got the tooth out, sewed my jaw up without damaging even the gum around it.

This Doctor is always super friendly and professional. Explains whats going on throughout. I've been to him 2 separate times and have sent my boss to him. Never a bad experience

I wouldn't even give this place a star at all. He decides to go shopping for wood at our appointment time then the assistant was extremely rude because we said something about how late he was. Nothing to eat or drink since 12 the night before. No wonder they are hanging by a thread.This place is the absolute worse!!We left after they yelled at us.Just Google Dr. Kippax and you will see. Before you go, better check out his malpractice suits. Lewiston Sun Journal has many articles. His best bet to even try to reestablish his name would be to get rid of his assistant who doesn't stop saying rude things to you because you want to know if he's done shopping yet.

I had a molar extracted today and I would like to say that this was the most pleasant dentist visit I've ever had in my life. I grew up going to drs. Barbarick they were great and so is Dr. KIPPAX! I decided to go to dr. Kippax after my husband had a tooth extracted last week and said it was a great experience! We were recommended by his brother who also had a wonderful experience! 3 of us in this family would highly recommend him! I wouldn't trust those here who have written bad reviews. This business was professional by the book, clean office and friendly staff. I'm exceedingly pleased and highly recommended!! Thank you so much for the pleasant experience and quick service!

Couldn't find an oral surgeon until after July 7th. I had two teeth that was hurting so bad I couldn't sleep there was no way I could wait until July 7th so I kept calling. When I spoke with Kippax office he said yes within the next couple days I am sure we can get you in. Next thing I know he said how about 315 today off I went. Yes I did wait awhile about an hour to see him but that's understandable for an emergency appointment. The office lady's called my insurance. They were very clear how much it was going to cost and what my insurance would cover! Once I was in the room I asked him to very careful I hate needles and he was absolutely amazing so gentle (well as much as he could be its needles in your mouth). No issues just sore after the teeth came out had to have stiches. He called me in IBU 800 and penicillin. I would go back again and it is great to know you can be seen in a hurry!!!
