I have practiced orthodontics for almost 30 years. It is an exciting specialty and technology has made it even more exciting. Invisalign has been a huge game changer in orthodontics and it is fun to see individuals go through treatment when they did not want braces but wanted to see their teeth straight.
I love all the different age groups andthe energy and excitement that patients bring to the office. Throughout the process, each patients self-esteem and personality grows as they see the change in their appearance. By the time treatment is finished, my patients are happier and healthier, with confident smiles they love, and theyre excited to share those smiles with the world!
My father, Dr. James Kiourtsis, also an orthodontist, started this practice in the late 60s. He loved his career, the patients, and the desire to help others. Seeing his excitement for the profession cemented my desire to become an orthodontist.
I am pleased to have a private practice. I see every patient, create every treatment plan, design all Invisalign cases, position every bracket, and place any other appliance necessary for tooth movement. This personalized, hands-on approach ensures no detail is overlooked and gives patients high-quality, efficient treatment with outstanding results.
I have completed an Invisalign Intensive Fellowship and participate in Invisalign Advanced Education Webinars. I also attend The Ohio State Orthodontic Alumni Association Meetings, and read all the professional journals.
I could not be prouder of our team members. They are highly trained, highly educated, hardworking, dedicated, compassionate, and fun. Our staff of 12 has a combined 152 years of orthodontic experience!
I require my staff to participate in continuing education in order to provide the best patient experience. As a result, Kiourtsis Orthodontics is the only practice in Central Ohio that has clinical staff with the designation of Specialized Orthodontic Assistants from the American Association of Orthodontists.
Additionally, Kiourtsis Orthodontics is the only office in Central Ohio that is an Academy of Orthodontic Assisting Certified (AOAC) Team Certified Gold Practice. This designation is provided by a leading education and training program for the orthodontic profession. Extensive time, study, and testing are required to pass this program and our practice has met the requirements for their team certification.
If Im not creating smiles, chances are Im spending time with my wife, Mary Jo, and three children: Will, Deano, and Zoe. We all love our time outdoors, whether biking, camping, hiking, fishing, or hunting.

Kiourtsis Orthodontics is the ideal place to go for a beautiful smile. Having been through multiple rounds of orthodontics in the past with separate providers, I can say this practice goes above and beyond to meet your needs. For the past few years, Dr. Dean Kiourtsis and his staff have been working on my teeth. I started with a palate expander, then a first set of braces, a retainer for some time, and then an other full set of braces! It may have taken some time, but I am so happy with the final result. I recently got my braces off a few months ago, and I love how my teeth have turned out! I definitely recommend going to Kiourtsis Orthodontics. No matter how long or short it takes, they will make sure your teeth turn out perfect! Thank you Kiourtsis Orthodontics for giving me an amazing smile!! :)

Dr. Kiourtsis, Is treating our 9 year old daughter's orthodontic needs. It was determined that she needed a palatal expander which terrified her. From the moment we entered the office for the big day the staff and Dr. Dean did an amazing job of making her feel safe and comfortable. They created such a cheerful and fun atmosphere and before we knew it the expander was in and all was well! Her teeth are straightening beautifully! We have been very pleased with the people and the service we've experienced. We are on our second child having their braces handled by them. Our first completed her treatment almost two years ago. We like the availability of appointments at two different offices, too. Check them out if you're looking for a great orthodontist.
