In 1989, a Gaston County community-based indigent care task force composed of concerned citizens, business leaders, elected local officials, and representatives of Gaston Memorial Hospital, was formed to address the need of the growing uninsured population and the use of episodic emergency department care as an inappropriate substitute for primary care. The group was concerned with providing the right careat the right time, at the right place. The result was the establishment of Gaston Family Health Services (GFHS) with a mission to provide family healthcare to anyone in need, regardless of ability to pay. With technical assistances from the North Carolina Office of Rural Health, GFHS was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in 1991. GFHS saw its first patients in 1992 at the practice co-located within Gaston County Health Department building on Hudson Blvd. in Gastonia.
Today, our team of family medicine physicians,pediatricians, advanced practice providers,dentists, psychologists and behavioral health providers care for patients atover 25 practices throughout Alexander, Catawba, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Gaston, Iredell and Lincoln counties.
Our services include adult and pediatric primary and dental care, behavioral health counseling, pharmacy services, chronic disease education programs (diabetes, hypertension, weight loss), Medication Assistance Treatment, nutritional counseling,womens screening clinics,vision care,school-based medical, behavioral health and dental programs, HIV/AIDS Case Management and care management services for at-risk pregnant women and children.
2020 marks an exciting time for the organization in the transition to our new identity. In April, GFHS unveiled and began operating under a new brand name. That new identity, Kintegra Health better represents the collective talents of over 500 staff members, and the comprehensive and integrated care we provide through core and enabling support services and special programming.
Kintegra employs an array of ancillary staff members who make up our Advanced Care team. These team members are in addition to your primary care provider. They serve in the role as panel managers, diabetes educators, licensed clinical social workers and pharmacists, and provide additional information and support in managing your health. Our Advanced Care team members at each site are are listed below.

The doctors seem like he is too serious and not nice... I told him I have Medicaid and he treated me differently. But I told them I have Insurance that would cover whatever and I'll pay whatever is left over. When I came to do my tooth due to a cavity and he only put numb gel on it and I was crying in pain and traumatized. He told me he can't proceed with the process since I am only covered with the gel and not over with a needle for numbness. Worst experience ever and I got Anxiety afterward going back to the dentist.

Just rude, unorganized dental practice. Everytime we call for an appointment we are greeted in the rudest of manner, as well as when we arrive the women in front are eating, on their phones and just no thanks you or hello welcome nothing the only thing good about this place is their dental bus!

They're amazing with children. Three out of five of my children are afraid of dentists and cause a huge scene to the point where they need to be held down anytime we go but they always make sure to calmly explain everything to my kids and show them everything and they take their time instead of rushing. 10/10 recommend them for children. For adults, the dentist is very serious and doesn't seem to friendly when he has to deal with someone that doesn't take care of their teeth but he still gets the job done overall I'd still recommend this place.

I called this morning to see about getting my teeth checked, and the receptionist was so rude and hung up on me without letting me finish asking my questions. Then when I called back to talk to the disrespectful woman she wouldn't answer the phone. If you dont like or want to do your job, find another job! Now I will be going else where because I will not be treated like that and they will not be working on me with so much hate in their bodies.

I just simply called to make an apt and the receptionist made me feel like they didn't want or need my business! Wouldn't even make an apt for me until they spoke with my last dentist that messed my mouth up terribly!!! I was practically begging for an apt for a second opinion as the 1st dentist I had seen left my jaw bone and literally half the teeth they claimed to have pulled in my mouth and told me to go else where if I was unsatisfied. This receptionist told me basically to go back to the last dentist and let them deal with it! I got off the phone in a total panic attack! Will not be going here!

Worst service since GFHS took over. I will never take my children to this mexican infested hell hole again with rude white receptionist who was too busy to schedule an appt, and the hygienist who said my daughter only had one more baby tooth (which was loose, btw) to lose before she would write a referral for orthodontics. Oh and did I forget to mention that they held my ADHD, autistic, incompetent 11y/o daughter (we were not allowed to go back with either child) in their exam room for well over 2 hours questioning her like a criminal and thought it necessary and called CPS who showed up on my doorstep 30 mins after we got home to grill my whole family like we were criminals?! Even the detectives said they had never had that happen before!! So after a 2.5 hour long visit there was nothing found that the office had felt the need to report. If they would practice dentistry as well as snooping their damn noses in places it doesn't belong then they might be a decent business, maybe?!?! Sooooo, I would NOT recommend this dentist...find another practice.
