Telling you that Dr. Colon has earned my loyalty is an understatement. She is incredibly patient with my 4 y/o who has some sensory issues. The noises, tastes, lights...it's the perfect storm of sensory overload. We had only been once since having moved to the area, and today was our second visit. (I won't even get into the absolute nightmare that was last time and Dr. Colon was wonderful then, too.) Back to today: Before the dental hygienist could even attempt anything with my son, Dr. Colon swooped over and told her assistant she would be doing the cleaning herself. It was very obvious to me that she remembered my son's issue. She got my guy up out of the chair, away from all the equipment, and showed him the prize area and tried to remind him of positive things from last time. When it was time for business, she did everything one step at a time and made sure my guy was reassured at every point. I feel emotional writing this review because this MATTERS! It matters that his first dental visits are with someone caring, kind, and patient and Dr. Colon is all of those things. I hope that my son will overcome his sensory challenges but either way, Dr. Colon has earned my business and my wholehearted recommendation.

Kingwood Pediatric Dentistry is a very great pediatric dental place for my son. Dr. Colon does a very good job at making him feel comfortable when he comes in for his check ups. In addition, the whole staff in this place are very nice and friendly. They go above and beyond in making kids comfortable during their visits. Thank you so much Kingwood Pediatric Dentistry!

My daughter is scared of the process of losing her loose tooth. The past couple of cleaning appointments have been stressful but manageable (meaning she has quietly cried when cleaning close to that one tooth, but listened to the DH every step of the way. We actually love Ms. Brittany.) Today, Dr. Colon was running about an hour behind and appeared aggravated to say the least. There is a new dental assistant that was unable to properly take bitewing x-rays (they were severely overlapped and she was unable to obtain all teeth in x-ray... no fault of my daughter) Dr. Colon completely disregarded my child's dental health by not asking the dental assistant to retake her X-rays and actually stated "oh well mom, as of right now.. no cavities. Since we didn't get proper x-rays, we will just leave it as no cavities today" (this is not the type of care we are expecting from this dental office. My daughter's dental care was completely disregarded) Dr. Colon was then verbally aggressive to my daughter in regards to her dental hygiene, forced her to swallow fluoride and water, TWICE, rather than suctioning and completely degraded my "daughter's ability to properly brush her teeth" as she compared her to an elderly woman with terrible dental hygiene. (We pay for my daughter to get dental cleanings every 3 months to help reduce the amount of build-up due to moderate dry mouth and being a mouth breather. Not to mention, we have listened to all advice and changed tooth brushes, tooth paste, and mouth wash, per DH) All of this took place in front of my almost 9 year old. In return, my daughter started to cry after she was completely humiliated.. Dr. Colon then demanded the following to my daughter in a stern voice, "you will take two breaths, place your hands on your belly and you will stop crying" before performing an oral examination on her. Then she asked if my daughter has anxiety issues. No Dr., she has never been afraid of dental cleanings, visits, sealants, anything... she is nervous of her loose tooth, some kids are... Again, my daughter was upset such accusations were being made of her before everyone in the cleaning bay. This was the most terrible dental visit we have ever experienced. My child was treated as an animal trying to push out of the way to get to other patients and her dental health was not Dr. Colon's priority. I contacted the office manager to advise of our experience and was promised a return phone call, before leaving for the day, which did not happen. The office manger advised she knew Dr. Colon was having a rough day, because she kept giving her "the look." I am usually really understanding and refrain from leaving negative reviews, but the level of disrespect my child endured is completely unacceptable. Praise in public, criticize in private.. there was no praise for my daughter's progress, rather the opposite, including borderline name-calling. To say we are disappointed is an understatement. My daughter feels completely defeated.. so I have been working to do damage control and using this experience as a teachable moment. My children will not return to this office.

Very disappointed with my kids last visit. My son had a cavity starting and they failed to tell me about it at the last checkup.

Got referred due to my son supposedly needing some cavities filled. The doctor and assistants were just absolutely amazing. No cavities actually but everyone was absolutely amazing!! The doctor took her time and explained things so clearly to my son and made him feel so comfortable. Just amazing with children.

We LOVE Dr. Colon and the new addition Brittany is amazing. The reward system for the kiddos is nice but also teaching them about the live bacteria in plaque that coincides with parents talking about "sugar bugs" really made me feel confident today that as a team we can keep our littles informed and encouraged to keep on track with their dental hygiene. A plus plus plus!!! We have been coming here for many years and will always until they outgrow pediatrics, which some of them actually have!!

My son is autistic with a receptive language disorder and ADHD. I had noted this in my online paperwork. When We arrived, I was given a very thoughtful questionnaire that asked about sensory issues and preferences. When we were called back, each person followed the questionnaire to a T. Explained to my son in detail everything that would happen, were patient and offered breaks, and even offered a solution if my son couldn't handle the typical fluoride (I had made notes about flavors in the questionnaire). We have never had such thoughtful care.
