Dr. Brown earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree, cum laude, from the Medical College of Virginia in 1996. A distinguished graduate, he was presented the A.D. Williams Academic Achievement Award for ranking first in his class for the 1996 academic year. He then completed a General Practice Residency program at the University of Mississippi Medical Center where he received the Resident of the Year Award. Concurrently, he completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Program at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson, Mississippi. In 1997 he received the Quality Care Award. Since 2003, Dr. Brown has been listed in several publications as one of the regions top dentists. Most recently, he was listed in Northern Virginia Magazine as one of the area's top dentists. In fact, he was one of only six Alexandria dentists to receive this recognition. He has also been recognized by Washingtons Consumer Checkbook Magazine. His professional memberships include the American Dental Association and Academy of General Dentistry.
Dr. Brown has been practicing dentistry at Hayfield Dental Care since 1997. During his time here he has performed literally thousands of crown, root canal and other surgical procedures. He has also placed over 30,000 white tooth colored fillings. Furthermore, he has the most advanced general practice training and can perform almost any procedure including extractions and pre-prosthetic surgery without the need for an outside referral. Dr. Brown is very accessible to his patients and is always willing to discuss treatment and answer questions over the phone to patients of record. If you leave him a message he will always return your call within a reasonable time frame.
Dr. Brown received his undergraduate degree in microbiology, with a minor in chemistry, from Virginia Tech (Go Hokies!). He is originally from McLean, Virginia, where he attended Langley High School.He enjoys spending his free time with his family. Dr. Brown has three young children and his weekends and many weekday evenings are filled as a coach on their little league baseball and softball teams.
Dr. Wiger is an orthodontic specialist who earned his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maryland at College Park in 1984 and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Maryland at Baltimore in 1990. He received both his orthodontic specialty training and his MS degree in Oral Biology from Baylor University in 1992.
Dr. Wiger is recognized and appreciated for his excellence in orthodontics as well as the gentle and compassionate care of his patients. He has been named over and over again as one of the area's top orthodontists by Washingtonian Magazine, Northern Virginia Magazine, Family Magazine and Virginia Living Magazine.
Dr. Wiger founded Wiger Orthodontics in 1993 and had offices in Ashburn, VA and Potomac Falls, VA. Dr. Wiger has served people from all over Northern Virginia, Maryland and Washington, D.C. He dedicated his practice to providing patients with superior orthodontic care using the very latest technology and medical advances. He has an underlying passion for creating beautiful smiles. Over the last 23 years, he has started and completed thousands of orthodontic cases with dazzling results.
Dr. Wiger is a member of many professional organizations such as the American Association of Orthodontists, the Southern Association of Orthodontists and the American Dental Association, to name a few. He has also served as an orthodontic advisor to the Greater Loudoun Study Club, a consortium of dental professionals committed to providing excellent dental care in Northern Virginia.
In May of 2016, Dr. Wiger sold Wiger Orthodontics to spend more time with his family and to focus on direct patient care rather than running a large orthodontic practice. As a testimony to Dr. Wiger's reputation and work ethic most of his staff members had been with him for over a decade, some as long as 17 years. He came to Kingstowne Orthodontics in October of 2016 and we are very fortunate to have such an esteemed and recognized orthodontist to treat our patients.
Dr. Wiger replaces our former popular and talented orthodontist, Dr. Frances Hamman. After 11 years as our sole orthodontist, she moved back home to Ohio to help care for her ailing father. Dr. Hamman worked closely with Dr. Wiger in transition, to assure that he was familiar with all of her individual patients and the specifics of their cases.
Dr. Spitzer earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from Northwestern University Dental School in 1986. He also completed a number of externships. His undergraduate studies were done at the University of Wisconsin at Madison
Dr. Spitzer is originally from Wisconsin, but he moved to and has been practicing dentistry in the Washington area for a little over 30 years. He was hired by Hayfield Dental in 1988 and has also worked part-time at other area practices over the years. He also served as Chief Dental Officer for Pan Am World Services from 1991-1994.
Dr. Spitzer is extremely experienced in all areas of dentistry, ranging from complex root canals, dentures and implant crowns, to bridges and composite fillings. Over the last 30 years Dr. Spitzer has performed tens of thousands of these procedures. He has also completed hundreds of hours of continuing education and advanced dental training.

I have had some "dental anxiety" after some trauma as a kid. Dr. Spritzer and the team at Kingstowne dental have been great for me. Dr. Spitzer is understanding and has a calming presence

Went in for a cleaning. Have used them several times before. Friendly staff. Professional technicians & dentists. Great music while they work on your teeth. My teeth feel so smooth & clean when I'm done. Wonderful experience.

I have been going to this dental office for many years. I like that the office is small, always clean, and quiet. I started out with Dr. Romano whose now retired and am now in the great care of Dr. Spitzer and dental hygenist, Adele. I've had regular 6 month cleanings, X-rays and fillings, when necessary and a crown all done well. Everyone I've encountered here over the years have all been kind and professional. I've never had a problem with the staff or their services. Great customer service is vital to me, so I appreciate Lindsay, at the front desk. She is always very personable on the phone and in-person and greets me with a smile every visit. If you're shopping for a dental office, check-out Kingstowne Dental. I hope you will like them as much as I do..

From start to finish this was not a good place. I was told to come in at 3:20, but when I showed up for my appointment everything was rushed and they didn't do my cleaning because they said I should have come in at 3:00. The Dr. came in for all of two minutes to conduct my exam, he was not very pleasant and then left abruptly when the camera to check my teeth didn't work. When I decided to find a better dentist, I was charged a $35 fee just to have my dental x-rays sent via email.

Kingstowne Dental Care is a wonderful office! We are happy to have found an such an efficient dental office. My father and I felt very comfortable with the staff during procedures. The staff is very kind and informative. Front desk manager Lindsay is efficient and informative of costs. She always makes sure we are informed of upcoming appointments. This office is amazing! Highly recommended!

I went with my daughter for regular cleaning and I asked for estimate price before I start the service, they told me they confirmed with my insurance and I am not going to pay from out of pocket (the same response over the phone prior going to the clinic) However they have done X-ray procedures and scheduled us in couple weeks for the cleaning, honestly we were not happy by the service and cleanliness so we cancelled our schedule, that being said, after couple months they sent me a bill statement of $360 and I tried calling them to discuss why the insurance declined the payment, but the receptionist is very unprofessional and not polite at all, she is very angry and disrespectful, I asked her couple times if she can calm down and act professional but she kept saying I don't know just talk to your insurance, wow! I will fine a claim and talk to my insurance eventually... Please beware

My wife has been using this clinic for a few years now and loves the care received however the back office billing department is horrible and the cause for her moving to a new clinic. They consistently bill without explanation and will not provide itemized billing. The billing clerk, Julie, will just threaten collections if you don't pay. They will not provide any other assistance so you have to deal with her directly. We've tried dealing with other management and they redirect you to Julie at billing. We've tried to contact the clinic owner and are told that Dr. Brown doesn't work in the summer so call back in September. I see from other reviews that we are not the only ones with similar issues. Buyer beware!

They had an estimate error for a device they ordered me and insurance didn't cover as much as they expected. Instead of calling me to straighten it out, they sent the bills to Virginia court claims over $250. I've been with them for 10 yrs and recommended employees from my company to go there as well. The previous owner was more personable and a much better dentist. I had to go back numerous times to get the setting of a crown to fit right. Lots of changes with the new owner. So I moved on.

Zero stars from me. Beware - the dentists here are inexperienced and will cause more damage during routine procedures which will cause you to have to get major work done elsewhere and their billing dept. is a joke.

Absolutely terrible customer service. I called and left a voicemail inquiring if they accept my dental insurance. Never received a call back. I have called again multiple times and now each time I call, the phone rings, a person will pick up and then they immediately hang up the phone. If you can't have a competent and respectful front desk staff, there is no reason to be in business. Directly from their website yet no email address is listed: "We are always available to talk with you and address your concerns. Please feel free to contact us during the following hours through our office phone number or e-mail address. After hours, you may contact us through our answering service." Interesting...

I have only been here a couple of times. The staff has been so friendly and nice. Dr. Grundy has worked on my teeth several times, filling a few overdue cavities, but he has been very thorough and understanding. The previous dentist I had was very rude and insulting.
