Kingston Dental Practice - General dentist in Kingston, TN

Dr. Bery graduated from Clemson University in South Carolina with an honors degree in Biological Sciences with a minor in Microbiology. After graduation, he started dental school in Louisville, KY at the University of Louisville School of Dentistry and graduated with a D.M.D. (Doctor of Medicine in Dentistry).Although Dr. Bery enjoyed his time in Louisville, he was excited to move back to his home state of Tennessee and begin his career with Kingston Dental. In his spare time, Dr. Bery, enjoys hiking, camping, playing tennis, and cheering for the Clemson Tigers. He also had a cat named Dorian that he enjoys spending time with. Dr. Bery has enjoyed meeting the people of Kingston and is happy to call Knoxville home.

Knoxville, Tennessee is Dr. Evon Hulses hometown. She considers herself the luckiest girl in the world to have met her husband, Dr. Russell Hulse, whom encouraged her pursuit of a career in dentistry, while she was living in Houston, Texas. She was elated to move back to East Tennessee after graduating Cum Laude from The University of Texas Health Science at San Antonio in 2003.Since moving back home, she has begun to enjoy the outdoor beauty of East Tennessee by hiking in the Smokies and surfing, yes surfing on the lake. Every spring she anxiously awaits the return of the hummingbirds and blue birds to this area. Traveling is a particular love of hers; experiencing different cultures and making friends with people around the world. Dr. Hulse can be found most days performing dental surgery on pediatric patients at East Tennessee Childrens Hospital. She has been providing this service for our patients since 2004. She loves this type of dentistry because it allows the children with the most severe dental needs and the children who have had a previous bad dental experience a chance to have their needs taken care of in an environment that is free of fear. Dr. Evon and her husband, Dr. Russ, do not have children of their own, which is why they feel that the children of this practice are their children.

Dr. Russell Hulse is from a small town in West Texas and he graduated from The University of Texas Dental Branch at Houston in 1997. He met his wife Dr. Evon Hulse during his senior year of dental school; she was originally from Knoxville, Tennessee. He fell in love with the mountains and lakes of our area so the couple relocated to East Tennessee after his wife had graduated from dental school.Dr. Russ believes that laughter is the key to ending dental fear for his patients. He has a great sense of humor and can be found daily joking around with his patients, both young and old.Hiking and camping in our beautiful mountains is a favorite pastime for him, as well as spending time on the lakes. He and his wife also travel extensively around the globe. He loves to spend time with his wife, Evon andtheir dogs, Remy and Roo.

Dentist treated 2 cavities with flouride treatments, letting them get to the point of needing root canals. WHY WASN'T A FILLING DONE WHEN THE CAVITY GOT PAST THE SURFACE! Other cavities weren't even being treated. Office personnel also rude.

I took my daughter in this morning due to extreme tooth pain and facial swelling. The swelling was well up into her eye. They X-ray the area, Dr.Hulse comes in, pokes the offending tooth with his finger, says everything looks good and it definitely isn't her teeth. Mentions that the tooth she is complaining of does have some indication of recent trauma but still insists it wasn't her teeth. Suggested sinuses. The whole thing took 10 minutes. Fast foreword to now and I've been at the ER with her after the walk-in clinic strongly urged an ER visit...the ER insists that this is indeed related to her tooth which they believe is dying. I call Dr.Hulse again and suddenly he's decided that the tooth that definitely isn't infected and doesn't have any sort of issue probably has an issue and I should take her to Children's. I would give a 0/10 review if I could but alas, a 1 star will have to do. Hours and hours of pain could have been avoided had he just allowed my daughter to tell him how badly she was hurting instead of dismissing her. I'm disgusted. Absolutely under no circumstances will I be bringing any of my 4 children to this office again. Being a nurse myself I can't imagine being so dismissive of a patient when they are telling me how excruciating their pain is while their eye is almost swollen shut. This type of behavior is exactly why so many people have no faith in the healthcare system anymore.

Loved the dentist but, they need to take a hard look at adjusting their policies. We have been going for years but, after our last visit we will not go back and will not recommend Kingston Dental. Not letting their patients have the choice on what is done to them and when, that is not someone my family will support or give our business. Our family appointments are always requested to be back to back. This one had a gap because, my husband had to cancel and they decided to fill his appointment instead of move my son and I's together. We had to wait in between and with a 3 year old-that is a challenge in itself. I had another appointment across town afterwards so timing was tight. I requested no x-rays to make it quicker and also because, I had my 3 year old with me. They refused to see me and clean my teeth without doing x-rays. I would just get x-rays at the next appointment when my husband could help with my toddler. I was unaware this was a requirement. I was just in a hurry but, the principle is what irked me. My body-my choice. Multiple reasons to deny an x-ray and should ultimately be the patients choice. What if I'm trying to get pregnant? What if I think I'm pregnant but, it's too early for a doctors appointment to get a note? What if I'm breastfeeding and don't feel comfortable? What if I don't want x-rays today? What if I'm really just in a hurry to get to swim lessons? It didn't matter & they didn't even care enough to ask. I am low risk, having no pain, and their appointments are typically 6-8 weeks out so instead of doing what they could do today and having X-rays at my next appointment, they just wasted all of our time and we're completely inconsiderate? When I went back to pick up my records, just out of curiosity, I asked if I could sign a waiver to have my teeth cleaned without a x-ray. She said no.

Took my daughter for impression a month ago. She has tmj. Already waited a month for mouthguard to help ease pain.she had pain and floaters in left eye and left ear pain. Countless calls to no avail. Was told to keep waiting. They said they have no answers to company in California. Can't even contact company to see what the hold up is ! The pain is affecting her school work. Tired of being jerked around by such unprofessionals. Wouldn't recommend them to my worst enemy.

My kids went in for a cleaning and exam and a painful tooth for my daughter. I was told each of my kids had over a dozen cavities and my daughter needed 2 root canals...took them back to my former dentist for a 2nd opinion(they also did more Xrays with comprehensive exams) and I was told they had less than half the amount of cavities and she needed 1 root canal. Not happy since I have a limit on coverage on my insurance

Very prompt and professional. Good thorough cleaning by the hygienist and quick examination by the dentist. Sorry, but I don't know their names.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this practice. I drive from Alcoa. Dr. Evon came in special just to fix my 5 year old daughter, Taylor's cavity today. Always kind and compassionate and go the extra mile to do what is best for their patient and clients! Five stars!

Not great. The hygienist was very rough with my daughters cleaning. Then the 2 small fillings my daughter got a week later caused SEVERE pain and swelling. The dentist said to wait 2 weeks for healing. 2 weeks of otc pain med, interrupted sleep, pain with eating! She shouldn't have had to wait 2 weeks! I think that's dangerous in case there could be infection. I finally started her on some steroids I hadn't taken recently and her mouth at least felt better instantly! Now she needs to get medical attention again to make sure there is not infection. Ridiculous.

Bre explains what she's doing while cleaning my teeth and walks me through the process, even lets me choose my own flavor of fluoride. Appreciate the attention to details here.

My daughter always receives the best care. The front desk ladies are always welcoming and kind. Her hygienist always makes the dental visit so easy. He knows how to communicate with children in a way that puts them at ease and makes them comfortable. The dentist is thorough and efficient. I'm glad my five year old has the Kingston Dental staff as her provider!
