For most people, a beautiful smile is the most obvious benefit of orthodontics. After your braces come off, youll feel more self-confident. During your treatment, we want you to feel as comfortable as possible.
Orthodontic appliances can be made of metal, ceramic, or plastic. They may be removable or they may be brackets bonded to the teeth. By placing a constant, gentle force in a carefully controlled direction, braces slowly move teeth to a corrected position.
This is a great time to wear braces! Gone are the days when a metal band with a bracket was placed around each tooth. You can choose brackets that are clear or metallic color. You can choose the color of the ties that hold the wire in brackets. Wires are also less noticeable than they used to be, and the latest materials move teeth faster with less discomfort to patients.
Treatment time typically ranges from one to three years, depending on the growth of the patients mouth and face and the severity of the problem. Patients grow at different rates and will respond variously to orthodontic treatment, so the time to case completion may differ from the original estimate.
The patients diligent use of any prescribed rubber bands or headgear is an essential factor in achieving the most efficient treatment. Interceptive, or early treatment procedures, may take as few as six months.

Orthodontic treatment can be started at any age. Many orthodontic problems are easier to correct if detected at an early age before jaw growth has slowed. Early treatment may mean that a patient can avoid surgery and more serious complications.
The American Association of Orthodontists recommends that every child first visit an orthodontist by age seven or earlier if a problem is detected by parents, the family dentist, or the childs physician.
Phase I, or early interceptive treatment, is limited orthodontic treatment (i.e., expander or partial braces) before all the permanent teeth have emerged. Such treatment can occur between the ages of six and ten. This treatment is sometimes recommended to make more space for developing teeth, correction of crossbites, overbites, underbites, or harmful oral habits.
The placement of bands and brackets on your teeth does not hurt. Once your braces are placed and connected with the archwires, you may feel some soreness of your teeth for one to four days. Your lips and cheeks may need one to two weeks to get used to the braces on your teeth.

I had to cancel cosultation twice due to death in my family and a wreck and tried to schedule another one but they refused to see me. Unforeseen circumstances and they refuse patients I think this place is shady. I would never give my business to people like that.

Dr. King and his staff are great. I have one that is getting ready to get braces and another who isn't ready yet but will be. Having your kids checked early is a good thing so they can address any issues that may need work before it's time for braces. I love that Dr. King doesn't come across as being in the profession just for the money but to fully help his patients achieve the smile they want.

Every staff member is so friendly and helpful! They take the time to talk to me and my children about their plan. They never rush us and seem genuinely interested in getting to know us. We have one child already with braces and are very happy with his care with King Orthodontics.

All of the staff was very kind and knowledgeable! I left there knowing exactly what I needed and the pros/cons of each treatment plan. Friendly team, expert advice, top of the industry latest and greatest products and reasonable cost. Every person I have come in contact with from reception to each team member through Dr King make me feel like I am the only one they are caring for at the moment I am there with them. Dr. King and his staff are so friendly,inviting and so informative. I always feel like they truly care about their patients and really get to know them.
