Dr. James King, III was born, raised and educated in the nation's capital. Dr. King might best be described as diverse. As a general dentist, volunteer and entrepreneur, he strives to provide affordable and accessible dental care for the masses while donating his services in cases of local or national emergencies. He is also an active participant in several political campaigns.

As a senior in high school (McKinley Technical) in 1978, Dr. King had the enviable position of choosing between thirty five universities vying for his athletic services. A high school All-American in track and field, he selected Howard University because of the rich history of producing successful African-American doctors. In 1984, Dr. King received a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology from Howard University. Subsequently, he graduated from the Howard University College of Dentistry with a doctorate in dental surgery (1990). In an effort to further enhance his abilities, Dr. King attended Meharry Medical College for a General Practice Residency from 1992 - 1994. While flourishing in the program, Dr. King was honored by the distinction of Chief Dental Resident. At the completion of the program, he was again honored with the Director's Award - certificate of most outstanding resident.

From 1994 -1997, Dr. King worked in the employ of James A. Snyder, DDS, in Alexandria, Virginia. Never one to forget his community, he also worked for the Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene - Dyer Clinic where he provided general dentistry services for underserved youth. In addition, from 1994 - 1998, he completed a four year stint with Alexandria hospital (Inova Alexandria) as a staff member - a rare accomplishment for a dentist. In 1996, Dr. King joined in forming the Watson, Davidson, & King Dental Group.

It was in 1999 that King Dental, LLC was formed and continues to thrive, a general dentistry private practice with a focus on cosmetic procedures. With this practice, Dr. King and his staff offer the most advanced dentistry to his patients while remaining sensitive to their fears and concerns. In addition, Dr. King volunteers for the Montgomery County Maryland Medical Reserve Corps.

William P. Mitchell, DDS, FAGD graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in 1975. He completed a General Dentistry Residency in 1976, from St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Washington, DC. In 1984, he was selected as a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry. He retired from the U.S. Army Dental Corp in 2000, and attained the rank of Lieutant Colonel. He maintains professional afiliations with the Academy of General Dentistry, and the National Dental Association.

Do not waste your money or time with this place. Not with your insurance or with their Groupon deal. The staff is EXTREMELY unprofessional. The wait time is ridiculous, and there is no sense of professionalism AT ALL with this place. I arrived for my 11 AM appointment today at 10:52 AM, completed my paperwork at 10:58 AM and waited until 11:19 AM before someone came out to get me. I asked the receptionist how long I'd have to wait at 11:09AM and she replied "he'll be out to get you in a moment." Aside from that, the same receptionist had 3 relatives or friends sitting in the waiting room taking her lunch order, cursing, and making jokes. I'm assuming the dr is who came out to get me but since he did not identify himself or speak much during my cleaning - I don't know. The cleaning was rushed, rough, and incomplete. He skipped two teeth while cleaning and only took 2 x-rays on my bicuspids and molars. He kept stopping in the middle of my cleaning to talk to the receptionist, who kept coming by to get impressions approved. Hence how he missed teeth during my cleaning. Do not visit this office. There are much better options in Silver Spring!

I've never seen a medical office that's open but no one ever answers the phone. This is insane and unheard of. Dr King you should really find some employees that want to answer your phone , this is bad for business !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Okay so reaching the office is difficult. However, Dr. King is amazing! He's so professional and knows how to do his job very well. He's the only one I trust with my teeth. He's replaced some old silver fillings with new white fillings and I am beyond happy with the results. I highly recommend him!

Dr King was great! The location is easy to get to. He works with his patients and knows his dentistry stuff! I'd recommend to go see Dr. King for your dental needs!

I bought two coupons on Groupon for me and my husband. My husband got an appointment after trying to reach their office for quite a long time. And I couldn't even get anyone to pick up their phones to make my appointment. Couldn't reach them via email, left messages and out in a request for visit in their site. No one ever got back to me. My husband says they did a decent job on his visit so if you could ever REACH them I guess it won't be a bad clinic to consider. But as for me I had to get a refund and buy another deal from another clinic.

Excellent service! The office is conveniently located, they are able to work around your schedule when making an appointment. Dr. King is very professional, attentive, and kind. I have visited his office multiple times and I highly recommend his services over other dentists I've been to in the DMV.

Dr.King was nice. Very professional and it's clear that he has a passion for what he does. His team, however, the WORST. No call backs from voicemails. You get someone on the phone finally, ask a question they don't know the answer to they tell you we'll call back before the close of business..it's now 3 weeks later. It's unfortunate because I'm new to the area and got my teeth cleaned but will be looking for a regular dentist elsewhere.
