Dr. Konick designed our logo after the claddagh ring, which is a traditional Irish ring representing love, loyalty, and friendship. The heart represents love. Having the heart around the smiling tooth represents Dr. Konicks love of dentistry, and also symbolizes starting the practice in the heart of Lakewood Ranch, where Dr. Konick loves to live! The hands represent friendship, and our hope is that by becoming a patient of Kind Smiles Dental Health, you begin to feel like a friend within our practice. You will be treated with respect and given treatment recommendations and advice for care as if you were one of our loved ones. Care will be rendered following the golden rule (which is also why gold is one of our colors!). Lastly, the crown at the top represents loyalty. Dr. Allison Konick is proud to invite you into her new practice in Lakewood Ranch. She spent her childhood growing up in the small town of Metuchen, New Jersey. She loved living in a small town and hopes to create that feeling by opening her practice in the heart of her new hometown, Lakewood Ranch. She attended college in Pennsylvania at Villanova University where she loved her time as a Villanova Wildcat and earned dual degrees: a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Hispanic Studies. She relocated to Florida to earn her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and is proud to be a Florida Gator Dentist!
Since graduating, Dr. Konick has also furthered her education with training at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry and become a member of the International Dental Implant Association. Dr. Konick is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Florida Dental Association, and the Sarasota and Manatee Dental Societies. Dr. Konick is also a certified provider of Invisalign and Botox/Dysport.
Dr. Konick was recognized in 2018, 2019, and 2020 as a Top Dentist in Florida for her exceptional work in Comprehensive Dentistry. She practices with a high level of integrity and is dedicated to upholding her reputation for quality care. She enjoys changing peoples lives by improving their smiles through all areas of general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Konick and her husband, D.J. McSherry are proud parents of four young children. Dr. Konick and her family enjoy attending local events in the Sarasota and Bradenton areas. You may find them spending weekends at the beach, walking along Main Street for Music on Main, boating with Freedom Boat Club, or stomping divots at the Sarasota Polo club. They also enjoy having friends and relatives visit from their hometowns in New York and New Jersey. Kind Smiles Dental Health wants you to be all smiles! To look and feel your best, we offer cosmetic treatments to get rid of pesky frown lines. Led by Dr. Allison Konick, our team may soften these and other expression lines with Dysport and Botox at the Lakewood Ranch, FL office. These products, known as injectable neuromodulators, may be used safely in conjunction with routine dental care.
Living in one of the sunniest states in the country has many advantages. We can comfortably take advantage of all our beautiful Floridian communities have to offer. However, with all of this time spent outdoors comes great responsibility. Unprotected exposure to UV light from the suns rays can age our skin prematurely and put us at increased risk of developing skin cancers. UV light can also exacerbate age-related structural changes to the skin that affects its plumpness, elasticity, and overall youthful appearance as time marches on.
Botox and Dysport are both injectable cosmetic products. They are applied precisely to specific points of the face with ultra-thin needles. As neuromodulators, they work by blocking the nerve signals that tell muscles to contract. Every time a muscle contracts, a small groove is made in the skin. In youthful, elastic skin, these expression lines are dynamic and only arise when you laugh, squint, frown, smile, or otherwise express yourself. Due to the cumulative effect of muscle activity and other skin-related changes, over time, dynamic lines become static or fixed and are present even when your face is at rest. As we have an extensive understanding of facial anatomy and how various facial muscles function, Kind Smiles Dental Health is skilled at injecting just the right amount of the formulation into just the right places to achieve a natural look that is refreshed and ready to complement your smile (no frozen face).
Also, both Botox and Dysport can be used to treat many of the conditions that Kind Smiles Dental Health often sees among its patients. For instance, patients who brux or grind their teeth can develop masseter hypertrophy. Overworked muscles in the lower part of the face cause the jawline to appear bulky or square-shaped. Neuromodulators relax these muscles to slim down the face and restore a balanced shape. Bruxism or teeth-grinding can also fracture or otherwise damage teeth. By relaxing the involved muscles, further damage to natural teeth or restorations is avoided.
Likewise, these products may ease the symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction. Radiating pain, jaw stiffness, migraines, and other symptoms are associated with muscle tension. Botox and Dysport alleviate the tension that is placed on the muscles and surrounding tissues.

The good: clean office, friendly staff and dentist is very nice The bad: wife got a filling done in January... about 5 months later half of the filling broke and chipped away, we called the office and they had us come in the next day. Dentist looked at it, said it's still there, shaved off part of the tooth to even out with the filling and called it a day. Oh and then charged us full price for the so called "fix". We called and reasoned with them 2 times and the poor assistant said that the dentist insisted that they did the right thing. So a job was done, failed under 5 months and instead of offering to fix it and not charge us anything they shaved the tooth and charged us for it. Money comes first, service after. That's their motto. Stay away.

Kind Smiles really goes by their name "kind". Everyone in the office is so nice and welcoming. Love Dr. Konick and her assistant Jazmine, if you're an anxious person they make getting through the appointment a breeze! 5 stars all around!

I needed a great deal of work done and I'm a coward when it comes to going to the dentist. The staff couldn't have been nicer. Dr. Konick was extremely gentle and very considerate. Brianne was excellent and very kind. I will continue getting my dental work done at Kind Smiles and I highly recommend it.

I've searched for years for a great dentist in the Lakewood Ranch area. Happy to report, my search is over. Dr Konick handled two difficult procedures for me. She's a very skilled dentist with an outstanding staff, and the latest technologies. The office is modern and always scrupulously clean. My visits were during Covid times yet I always felt completely safe. 5-Stars and more for Kind Smiles Dental Health. Highly recommended!

I feel so lucky to have seen a newspaper article last year about Dr Konick at Kind Smiles Dental. This practice brings me back to years ago- local caring family practice. Being a cancer survivor, I am so impressed with the genuine care and concerns to meet my needs. Highly recommend Dr Konick and her staff.

I love that the office motto is "kind." You see the words kind everywhere and it is felt from all the staff, including the sweet dentist. Everyone from the sweet front desk lady to the assistants to the dentist are nothing but kind and sweet, each one of them. I had X-Rays here and crown/filling and I am very happy with this practice and I hope to be a client for a long time. I hope that patients are as kind to this amazing dentist and sweet team as they are to us. Thank you Kind Smiles, you are an Amazing group dental office!

Dr. Konick is the first dentist I have ever "followed" from one practice to another. I grew up afraid of the dentist and in my teens rarely went then lost my dental insurance a few years later due to my age. I finally got dental insurance again once I got a FT job in my 20s and started going again and found her. She is compassionate, personable, knowledgeable, and very skilled. I really have no anxiety about going to the dentist anymore. She and her staff are wonderful and I love the practice that she opened. She also clearly is skilled in interior design because the office is just beautiful and extremely well decorated! Highly recommend.

Dr. Konick and her entire staff are so knowledgeable and friendly, the entire experience is enjoyable! My husband and I had some unfortunate past experiences with our previous dentist, and were so happy to learn of the opening of Kind Smiles! My husband admits that he always hated going to the dentist, but he now very much appreciates his appointments at Kind Smiles and we both love Dr. Konick. HIGHLY recommend!!!

I would absolutely, hands down, recommend Dr. Konick at Kind Smiles. Her and her staff have completely changed how I feel about going to the dentist. At 34, I am scared to admit that I have absolutely neglected my dental health due to being terrified of the dentist. Dr. Konick and her staff changed that. Super sweet, friendly, funny, and willing to go at my pace. Also, you can watch your favorite shows while having care! The office is beautiful and welcomes conversation and fun.
