Dr. Konick designed our logo after the claddagh ring, which is a traditional Irish ring representing love, loyalty, and friendship. The heart represents love. Having the heart around the smiling tooth represents Dr. Konicks love of dentistry, and also symbolizes starting the practice in the heart of Lakewood Ranch, where Dr. Konick loves to live! The hands represent friendship, and our hope is that by becoming a patient of Kind Smiles Dental Health, you begin to feel like a friend within our practice. You will be treated with respect and given treatment recommendations and advice for care as if you were one of our loved ones. Care will be rendered following the golden rule (which is also why gold is one of our colors!). Lastly, the crown at the top represents loyalty. We want our patients to be loyal to our practice, so we promise to treat you like royalty! As our patient, we hope youll take pride in the care you receive from our team.

Dr. Allison Konick is proud to invite you into her new practice in Lakewood Ranch. She spent her childhood growing up in the small town of Metuchen, New Jersey. She loved living in a small town and hopes to create that feeling by opening her practice in the heart of her new hometown, Lakewood Ranch. She attended college in Pennsylvania at Villanova University where she loved her time as a Villanova Wildcat and earned dual degrees: a B.S. in Biology and a B.A. in Hispanic Studies. She relocated to Florida to earn her Doctorate in Dental Medicine from the University of Florida College of Dentistry and is proud to be a Florida Gator Dentist!
Since graduating, Dr. Konick has also furthered her education with training at the Institute for Advanced Laser Dentistry and become a member of the International Dental Implant Association. Dr. Konick is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the West Coast Florida Dental Association, and the Sarasota and Manatee Dental Societies. Dr. Konick is also a certified provider of Invisalign and Botox/Dysport.
Dr. Konick was recognized in 2018, 2019, and 2020 as a Top Dentist in Florida for her exceptional work in Comprehensive Dentistry. She practices with a high level of integrity and is dedicated to upholding her reputation for quality care. She enjoys changing peoples lives by improving their smiles through all areas of general dentistry and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Konick and her husband, D.J. McSherry are proud parents of four young children. Dr. Konick and her family enjoy attending local events in the Sarasota and Bradenton areas. You may find them spending weekends at the beach, walking along Main Street for Music on Main, boating with Freedom Boat Club, or stomping divots at the Sarasota Polo club. They also enjoy having friends and relatives visit from their hometowns in New York and New Jersey. These products, known as injectable neuromodulators, may be used safely in conjunction with routine dental care.

UV light can also exacerbate age-related structural changes to the skin that affects its plumpness, elasticity, and overall youthful appearance as time marches on.
Botox and Dysport are both injectable cosmetic products. They are applied precisely to specific points of the face with ultra-thin needles. As neuromodulators, they work by blocking the nerve signals that tell muscles to contract. Every time a muscle contracts, a small groove is made in the skin. In youthful, elastic skin, these expression lines are dynamic and only arise when you laugh, squint, frown, smile, or otherwise express yourself. Also, both Botox and Dysport can be used to treat many of the conditions that Kind Smiles Dental Health often sees among its patients. For instance, patients who brux or grind their teeth can develop masseter hypertrophy. Overworked muscles in the lower part of the face cause the jawline to appear bulky or square-shaped. Neuromodulators relax these muscles to slim down the face and restore a balanced shape. Bruxism or teeth-grinding can also fracture or otherwise damage teeth. By relaxing the involved muscles, further damage to natural teeth or restorations is avoided.
Likewise, these products may ease the symptoms of Temporomandibular Joint (TMJ) Dysfunction. Radiating pain, jaw stiffness, migraines, and other symptoms are associated with muscle tension. Botox and Dysport alleviate the tension that is placed on the muscles and surrounding tissues.
