Dr. Randy L. Smith graduated from the University of Pennsylvania Dental School. He then decided it was time to return home to Phoenix to start both a dental practice and a family. Since 1988, Dr. Smith has been providing families in Arizona with unsurpassed quality when it comes to their dental care and loves every minute working with patients.
Dr. Smith, his wife, and two grown children participate in many charitable opportunities to serve the community. He has served the Phoenix community as St. Josephs Hospitals WellCare Foundations Dental Director and practitioner, and volunteers at John C. Lincolns Childrens Dental Clinic. For more than 20 years, he has worked with the Flying Samaritans as a part of their dental team. Through this organization, he travels to Baja California to give crucial dental care to communities in crippling poverty. Dr. Smith has earned the Presidential Medal for Volunteerism and the WellCare Foundation Compassionate Volunteer Award.
After graduating from Arizona State University, Dr. Kovacik received his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD) from the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health. He also holds a Master of Public Health (MPH) from the Arizona School of Health Management and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) residency from the Lutheran Medical Center at the Maui Oral Health Center in Hawaii. Dr. Kovacik has been awarded esteemed fellowships with the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD) and the American College of Dentists (FACD), an organization recognizing dentists for high standards of ethics and leadership in dentistry.
Dr. Kovacik believes community leadership and continual professional development are the hallmarks of a good dentist. He holds leadership positions with the Central Arizona Dental Society (CADS) and the Arizona Academy of General Dentistry (AzAGD). Dr. Kovacik was a graduate of the inaugural class of the Leadership Exploration and Development Program (LEAD) with the Arizona Dental Association. He also served as Adjunct Faculty at Midwestern Universitys College of Dental Medicine.
Dr. Kovacik lives in Phoenix and focuses his philanthropic efforts on helping underserved individuals in the area. His volunteer activities include the Arizona Mission of Mercy, Give Kids a Smile, and Catholic Charities of Arizona. Outside of dentistry, Dr. Kovacik likes to take advantage of the amazing Arizona environment by hiking, backpacking, and mountain biking with his wife and daughter. He also has a passion for traveling and has lived in fourdifferent countries throughout his life.

There is not a more amazing dental practice than this!! Dr. Kovacik and his staff are such a joy to visit.... He never does more than is needed and truly understands his patients and their needs. He will always find a place for you if you have unexpected dental needs and takes care of you until you are satisfied. I recently had a Front Tooth break off after an endoscopy procedure and he took care of making sure the new one looked even better than the original!!!! He is a perfectionist and is work is close to Art! Thank you Thank you

Absolutely amazing dental experience. Second time I've been for my cleaning. Everyone is wonderful and my cleaning was thorough. The dentist and hygienist treat but also educate. Seriously if you are looking for debt Al care I highly highly recommend Kind!

I called KIND due to a severe toothache this morning and they told me to come right in. I couldn't believe they brought me immediately! The girls were wonderful and the dentist was the best I've ever had. This was my first visit and I'm arranging to have my entire mouth worked on because of the fabulous care I received. Highly recommend them for all dental procedures.

Well it was my first visit here and I have to say, it was a good experience the topics I can hit on is, extremely professional, gentle,caring and I felt very comfortable with my visit, no pain while having an old crown replaced also Dr Kovacik hands perform beautifully and swiftly also his team they all work well together a job well done would highly recommend them for your next visit.

A wonderful first visit. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful especially concerning my insurance. I am especially grateful to my hygienist, Melissa. My mouth isn't especially simple. She not only provided a professional, thorough cleaning but she explained specifically how I can improve my brushing technique.

Kind Family Dentistry - I absolutely will be working with all of them. The office was very organized. I felt completely safe in their office. Taylor took the time to help me work with my schedule to include both flossing and my water pick. Dr. Kovacik was dedicated to an organic dentistry practice. Today was my first appointment at Kind Family Dentistry with Dr. Kovacik. When it comes to needing dental work I'm usually very anxious and hate the thought of even going, due to bad/painful experiences with other dentist's I've been to in the past. This was the first time in my life, I had a good dental experience, all thanks to my new favorite dentist Dr. Kovacik, his wonderful assistant Carlos and the friendly office staff.
