Dr.Bill started his practice inNew Bern in 1993 shortly after graduating from dental school. He hasbeen caring for patients with steadfast enthusiasm and contributing to the field of dentistry as a whole for over 25years. Dr. Bill enjoys furthering his knowledge and skills through numerous continuing education courses, specifically those focused on cosmetic and implant dentistry. Dr. Bill is married to Thea and is the father of 3 children: Will, Taylor, and stepson Austin. He enjoys spending time in the mountains, hunting, boating on the Trent River, and staying active in his church and community.
Dr. Purvis received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the UNC School of Dentistry. Prior to dental school, he received his BS degree in Biology from Campbell University. Dr. Purvis is the recipient of several awards for academic excellence and leadership while attending college and dental school. He served as President of the Student Professionalism and Ethics Association (UNC Chapter) and was elected National Speaker of the House for the same organization in 2011-2012. Born in Raleigh NC, Dr. Purvis has deep roots in the New Bern area. His mother Janet Bender Purvis, is from Pollocksville and his grandmother, Penelope Morton Bender is a native of New Bern. His late grandfather, Dr. P CPurvis, practiced dentistry in Fairmont, NC for close to 50 years. In his free time Dr. Purvis enjoys the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and boating. He is a church pianist and trumpeter and has performed at many local churches. In December of 2014, Dr. Purvis married his wife Veronica. The two of themenjoy spending time together in the outdoors and in the New Bern community.
