Digital X-rays offer a huge advantage in early detection and preventive services. Advanced image manipulation and analysis, for example, allows your doctor to detect early stages of gum disease through recognition of bone level changes, or by evaluating the results against a previous treatment.

An intraoral camera is an indispensable diagnostic and educational tool. The tiny video camera moves around inside of your mouth and generates a tooth by tooth video exam of your teeth. Using an intraoral camera allows patients to better understand their dental needs by seeing what the dentist sees and then having it explained.

Lasers are a non-surgical approach to arresting the progression of periodontal disease. Following scaling and root planing, a laser is used to significantly reduce the bacterial colonies and decontaminate the infected periodontal pocket. Lasers also remove the infected tissue lining the periodontal pocket. As the infected tissue is removed, microscopic blood clots form and your body's natural healing response takes over. As you heal, the tissue reattaches to the bone and your gums return to a healthy infection-free state.

This 5 star review is JUST for BRITTANY at the front desk! Her patience, kindness and general attitude are EXCEPTIONAL!! She DEFINITELY sets the standard for what Customer Service should look and FEEL like! Thank you Brittany, for taking time to make sure clients especially the older ones, have a good first encounter and front desk experience at the dentist.

Beware!!! Ask for an itemized list of what they are doing. I went for a bi-annual check-up, and they did something else. Charged me a $50 co-pay when cleanings don't have a co-pay. Charged my Insurance company $95 for hygiene instructions, like if I didn't know I have to brush and floss smh. My insurance company obviously did not cover that along with the rest of the bill. I recommend you run what they are going to do with your insurance company prior to them working on you. Chances are they are overcharging and doing work your insurance company does not cover. This practice is a rip-off.

On june 1, 2022 (wednesday), you performed an extraction of eleven teeth. From my understanding, the surgery had went well. You inserted my dentures, prescribed me pain medicine, and I left. The next day, Thursday, June 2, 2022, I woke up in extreme pain and discomfort, so I went back to see my primary dentist. The nurse called you, and asked me to come see you in Chapin. It was close to five o clock that day, so we agreed to meet the following day on Treholm Rd. in columbia at eight am. That day, you examined my mouth and told me everything was fine. You prescribed me more pain medicine, and i trusted the pain would subside. June 4 and 5, 2022 (saturday and sunday) I continued to be in extreme pain and discomfort. I considered going to the emergency room, but instead remained in bed fearing they would only prescribe more pain medicine. Monday, I ended up going to Lexington Medical Center because the dentistry was closed and I desperately needed help. Tuesday, I was able to be seen by West Columbia dentistry. The doctor told me after examining my mouth that something was wrong and he needed to speak to you. He told me to come to you in Lexington to be seen. While waiting I had gotten a call from my daughter. She was informing me that I would be getting another procedure done. You then came in and I asked you were you about to stick me. You said yes, several times because there was a partial tooth still inside my mouth that had now caused infection. You then asked me had I been smoking, I informed you that I had not. We then continued and you removed the rest of the tooth. During this process, I trusted you and your credentials. I would have rather not have to go through the courts. I was asking you to come to an agreement to compensate me for the two weeks that this process caused me to miss work. I was unable to eat or do daily activities. I was willing to sign a letter of agreement that once compensated, I will not sue you. You have had seven days from this dated letter to respond with a compensation you thought was fair. I informed you that If you would rather go through court, respectfully, we could do that as well. I have record and proof from June 1 until the end of the incident. I am extremely dissatisfied that you have refused to communicate with me and will be taking further action. I hope that if anyone chooses to work with this doctor, that they proceed with caution!

I had a great experiences with this practice. I had a scheduling mishap and they were able to still get me in timely. Dr. B and the 2 hygienists that treated me were all engaging and very informative every step of the way. The front desk receptionists and the scheduler were all welcoming. I am glad to have found this practice and will definitely return and refer other to them.

The encounters Ive had with the front office staff have been less than professional. After reading the reviews I will pass on this practice. Note to the doctors: we encounter your staff before we even meet you. They can make or break your practice. Make sure they are trained well, courteous and professional. I will go out of network before I ever deal with an unprofessional, disorganized office

Went in March because I had a tooth that was achy. They took x rays of the tooth and then the dentist looked at it and told me I needed a root canal and crown but that they couldn't do it fine by me moving on. Today I go to get my root canal done somewhere else and they also take x rays from multiple different angles and tell me that I don't need a root canal my tooth is just fine and that my cavity filling on that tooth was just rough from grinding my teeth and recommended i get a night guard. Confused about how a dentist mistook a rough filling for tooth decay needless to say I will not be going back waste of my time and money

My experience was off the charts! Dr. Patel and his assistant Jasmin was so friendly and caring! I received a same day crown in the front of my mouth which was so pain-free. I didn't feel the needle that was given either to me either! Awesome service from all the staff! They made me feel so comfortable! God bless you guys!

I've been a patient as this practice since the end of 2021. The doctor ( Dr. Patel) has a great bedside manner, he's very pleasant and knowledgeable. I'm not impressed with the front desk staff, very unprofessional and on several occasions they didn't seem to be concerned with me as a patient. I was given one price over the phone before my visit and another at the time of my appointment. The front desk wasn't to accommodating with helping me fill out the paperwork for my supplemental policy. It was almost like pulling teeth to get the much needed information to file my claim.

The staff was nice, but they're super shady with what they did to me. BE WARNED.... ask WHY they're doing every single thing they're doing and if it's optional. If it's optional, DON'T GET IT b/c it probably means that your insurance won't pay for it. I wish I had known this so I could've declined the CT scan they did (didn't even know that's what it was when I got it) and simple digital pictures they took of my teeth which they charged $100 PER picture to my insurance (which isn't covered). Absolutely RIDICULOUS FOR DIGITAL photos. So now I'm stuck with an $800 bill because they NEVER bothered informing me of any of what they were doing. I just thought it was all standard procedure for first time visits. Crooked shady practices AND I still have the problem I went there for AND they didn't even bother doing a cleaning like I requested. Just looked at the 100$ per photo photos and said "Oh looks good" like... just don't go here. Shady shady shady

The dentist are phenomenal!! My only complaint is that I was given one price for my dental work; and when I arrived I was given another price. The receptionist didn't explain any payment options. The e-check in was horrible.

Horrible place! They did all the stuffs the patient did not need and not covered by the insurance! Charged huge fees later on without communications and permissions from the patients. Horrible service.

The hygienists and dentists at this location are great. The receptionists area is horrible though. I requested an itemized statement from my last appointment never received it. And when I called a week later I was left on hold for 30 minutes.

They would have gotten 5 stars but the experience that my partner and I have had with getting the prescription is ridiculous. The doctor moved me up for a root canal, the people were nice and got me out of there around 11am.Cool. The pain was kicking in so before I left, I confirmed with the front desk if the prescription was going to be sent in, they said yes and I went to my referred pharmacy. Got there and after 30!minutes waiting in pain, the pharmacist says we don't have a prescription for you. So I picked up over the counter pain medicine to help while I was at work. I called the dentistry back at 3pm (figured by then it should have been sent, it's been a few hours) and I told the front desk, "that I went by my pharmacy and they said they don't have my prescription and I am in a lot of pain. Was it sent?" The front desk said, "He's sending it now". (Wasn't sent initially when I left). I waited all day to receive a notification from the pharmacy, I even called multiple times to see if it was ready and there was no status of me having ANY prescription. I called multiple locations just to see if there was a mistake. Called killian dentistry back and couldn't get an answer. I spent all day and night in excruciating pain that circulated in my jaw down to my throat, neck and shoulders, I popped pills, I even called the dentistry emergency line and almost decided to go to a hospital...it was terrible. It's the morning now, I called killian dentistry again and the front desk says, "it was sent to the wrong pharmacy, sorry."fast forward...I called the place that they said they sent the prescription to by mistake and they said they had no reports of any prescription under my name. My ultiple things need to be addressed. I called over and over again, somebody needed to double check. I've been a patient here before and have had all my prescription sent to one place. Why wasn't it seen in the system from past visits, where my prescription should have went? These services aren't cheap and to be suffering in pain all night was unacceptable. The prescription is really important to have after getting a procedure done and they should know what they put patients through when mistake(s) like that happen.
