We love children and we love working with children. There is nothing more satisfying for us than to help a child overcome their worries or fears. The members of our staff are all mothers and can relate to your child and to you. They have many years of experience and regularly continue their education by taking courses appropriate for pediatric dentistry. Collectively, we all want to get to know you and your child so that together we can give your child the happy dental experience that will stay with them for life.

The clinical staff is responsible for helping to provide dental care for your child. Along with Dr. Connie, they help to provide preventive dental care and they assist Dr. Connie when dental treatment is needed. They enjoy children and know how to put children at ease. As mothers and as professionals, they all have that special touch that brings out the best in each child.

Dental hygienists are professionals who are trained in preventive services and are licensed by the State of Pennsylvania. The pediatric dental hygienists at our office all love working with children, and they know how to assess oral hygiene, clean your childs teeth, and teach your child how to keep their smile healthy. They know all the latest information about preventive dentistry and they welcome your questions.

Our pediatric dental assistants are especially trained to assist Dr. Connie in providing dental treatment to our patients. They can help to comfort and reassure an anxious child and they love using fun ways to engage your child so that the dental visit is a positive experience. As moms, they love to make children leave our office with a big smile it makes our day!

So. how does this happen? Well, it starts when we meet a child for their first dental visit, usually by their first or second birthday. We get to know the family, and over the years, we truly partner with the family (including siblings, grand-parents, guardians as needed) to provide age-appropriate information that relates to all aspects of the childs oral health. We accompany the childs growth and development, and whenever necessary we provide the best and most up-to-date specialized care in a caring and compassionate way. Before we know it, our little toddlers have grown up, are graduating high school and graduating from our practice, with not only a beautiful and healthy smile, but with the knowledge and skills to maintain that smile for a lifetime!

We seek to treat each child with the skill and compassion necessary to ensure a positive outcome. Whether we are teaching oral hygiene, treating a traumatic injury to the mouth, or providing complicated restorative dentistry, you can be sure that your child will be respected for the individual that he or she is, and that we will use our knowledge and skills to care for your child in a positive way.

Our approach is simple POSITIVE, POSITIVE, POSITIVE! We praise children, we give lots of high-fives, and we remind them always of how proud we are of them. Of course there are times when a fearful or anxious child needs understanding and empathy, and we recognize that by providing care in a compassionate way the child responds beautifully. We also have lots of fun treating patients we often use guessing games to keep our patients thinking of fun and happy things while they are having dental treatment. We love to communicate with our patients and to keep them engaged. Our reward is to see our patients smile! Although most children are able to be treated comfortably in a traditional setting, some patients may require dental treatment using general anesthesia or sedation. If this is indicated because of extensive dental disease or because of a significant medical disability, we can refer your child to a specialized pediatric facility that can provide this care with an anesthesiologist. Once the extensive needs are treated, the child is then able and happy to return to our office to resume routine preventive care. Our focus on prevention and our knowledge of how children develop may lead us to recommend a specialist. We have worked with the best dental and medical specialists for many years and we can offer an extensive array of options that will best fit your needs.

Our goal is a healthy and beautiful smile for every patient! Our office is ADA-compliant and is accessible for our patients with special needs. We welcome the opportunity to treat your special child and we have the knowledge and skills to make their visits positive and effective. We will teach you how to care for your childs dentition, keeping in mind the relationship between dental health and overall health. We will consult with your childs physician and become familiar with your childs specific condition so that we can advise you of any considerations that could affect the teeth and oral development. We pride ourselves on having excellent communication with our medical colleagues to ensure the best care for our patients. Its a recipe for success.

Dr. Killian is knowledgeable and compassionate. She also truly cares about those of us who do not have dental insurance. She has waved parts of my bill numerous times. If I could change one thing it would be her hours. They are not extremely convent.

I'm surprised by the negative review on here, so I'm posting my own. Our kids love Dr. Connie and look forward to their appointments here. We've been going for 8+ years, and Dr. Connie has been nothing but great with our children, and even came in one evening on her day off to save our son's tooth that had cracked in half. I wish I could give more stars!

Dr. Connie is an absolutely amazing person and doctor! I switched my children, age 6 and 2, to her practice 8 months ago. My daughter has special needs, and I felt her needs weren't being met at our old practice. The level of professionalism and compassion is incomparable. She's incredible with both of my children. My son is a lot happier as well. My kids look forward to going to the dentist now! Thank you, Dr. Connie :)

I have to tell as many people as possible how incredibly happy I was with Dr. Killian and her staff. My 4 year old son came to Dr. Killian for a second opinion on 4 cavities that he needs filled. Our first dentist, before Dr. Killian, wanted to sedate him to fill the cavities. I sought a second opinion because the treatment seemed aggressive and unnecessary. Dr. Killian took plenty of time to evaluate my son and talk us about how we can help my son's dental health and treatment options (which did not include sedation). All this came with no judgement and only solutions. Overall, I can say she was wonderful!!! Dr. Killian took more than enough time to talk to us and my son; Dr. and staff went to great lengths to make my son comfortable. Her staff was fantastic!! Kind, patient and caring! To all those parents out there who are wondering if they should switch dentists, or, who they should go to for their child's first dentist, I can only recomend Dr. Connie Killian!!
