Dr. J. Peter Kierl earned his Bachelor of Science,summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame,and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. His Master of Science in orthodontics was completed at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Dr. Kierl has lectured nationwide on various topics in orthodontics. His two main teaching interests are self-ligating orthodontic brackets and the use of digital virtual treatment planning in the orthodontic field. He also teaches monthly as an associate clinical professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, in itsDepartment of Orthodontics.
Dr. Kierl has lived in Edmond, Oklahoma, since 1981. He is married to Barbara Maloney Kierl. They have three childrenKevin, Brian, and Jessieand a dog named Fritz. Dr. Kierl enjoys playing a round of golf when he has the time, but spends most of his free time with his family. He also coaches grade school and junior high basketball.
Dr. T. Philip Kierl obtained his Bachelor of Sciencefrom the University of Notre Dame and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with distinctionfrom the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Kierl completed his orthodontic residencyand earned an MBAat the Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine in Henderson, Nevada.
He regularly attends local and national orthodontic meetings to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontic technology, and is a member of several orthodontic and dental treatment study clubs. Dr. Kierl was recently recognized as a Young Leader in Orthodontics by the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. T. Philip Kierl is a native of Edmond, Oklahoma, and is excited to practice orthodontics with his uncle and wifein the town where he grew up. In his free time he enjoys working on home improvement projects and spending timehis wife Heather, daughter Vivian, and his Boxer named Hosty.
A native of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Dr. Heather Kierl earned her Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
Dr. Heathergraduated at the top of her class at OU College of Dentistry. She graduated as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, highlighting her high academic success. Other awards she received included:
Heather and Philip became parents with the birth of their daughter Vivian in December 2016. They are very happy to begin the journey of parenthood and are excited to be working together at Kierl Orthodontics. Heather enjoys sports, time with friends, working out, and spending time with her family. She is looking forward to the opportunity to provide the best possible care for our patients at Kierl Orthodontics.
We feel the addition of Heather to the practice will enhance our ability to give as much attention as possible to all of our patients and make us better at what we do. We are proud to have her as one of our doctors.
Dr. Jessie Kierl was born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma before moving on to Oklahoma State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology. She continued on to the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry where she earned both her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Master of Science degree in Orthodontics.

Very professional and friendly staff. They make your experience enjoyable. I would recommend to everyone. UPDATE: I had to come back to reiterate how great this place is. They went out of their way to help me with a retainer recently. Just a great group of people.

My husband had a permanent retainer fall of while we were staying with family. They squeezed him and fixed him right up! They were so friendly! We wish they did regular dentistry so we could switch permanently! Would recommend to anyone!

I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone! I only had my braces on for 10 months when it should've taken a year and a half. Their technology is amazing giving you the most beautiful and confident smile!

Excellent Orthodontist! My son has seen both Dr. Peter & Dr. Philip & they are equally great orthodontist that know what they are doing. Would highly recommend Kierl Orthodontics to anyone that needs braces.

One of the most apparent attributes of the Kierl Orthodontics staff is just how friendly they are. It is incredibly reassuring to have pleasant staff when going through something as potentially painful as braces. Not only that, but the quality of the braces are excellent, and I personally didn't even have to be on them that long. While the appointments are frequent, it is to be expected when using braces, as they require a lot of maintenance. Kierl and his staff do excellent work making sure there are no problems with the braces, and when problems do arise, they are quick to respond. Definitely made my braces experience a memorable one in a very positive way.

I have a lot of respect for Dr. Kierl and the staff that works here. They are extremely gentle when taking out and replacing my wires. They are also all extremely friendly and the atmosphere is very welcoming! They are also very dedicated and willing to work with difficult cases. When I went in and had a consultation, they said they would have to remove four teeth in my lower bracket and that I would have braces on for fourteen months. I am now in the home stretch and I'm getting my braces removed after only eleven months and still have all my teeth. If you are in need of an orthodontist, this is one I highly recommend!
