Dr. J. Peter Kierl earned his Bachelor of Science,summa cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame,and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. His Master of Science in orthodontics was completed at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.
Dr. Kierl has lectured nationwide on various topics in orthodontics. His two main teaching interests are self-ligating orthodontic brackets and the use of digital virtual treatment planning in the orthodontic field. He also teaches monthly as an associate clinical professor at the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry, in itsDepartment of Orthodontics.
Dr. Kierl has lived in Edmond, Oklahoma, since 1981. He is married to Barbara Maloney Kierl. They have three childrenKevin, Brian, and Jessieand a dog named Fritz. Dr. Kierl enjoys playing a round of golf when he has the time, but spends most of his free time with his family. He also coaches grade school and junior high basketball.
Dr. T. Philip Kierl obtained his Bachelor of Sciencefrom the University of Notre Dame and his Doctorate of Dental Surgery with distinctionfrom the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Kierl completed his orthodontic residencyand earned an MBAat the Roseman University of Health Sciences College of Dental Medicine in Henderson, Nevada.
He regularly attends local and national orthodontic meetings to stay on the cutting edge of orthodontic technology, and is a member of several orthodontic and dental treatment study clubs. Dr. Kierl was recently recognized as a Young Leader in Orthodontics by the American Association of Orthodontists.
Dr. T. Philip Kierl is a native of Edmond, Oklahoma, and is excited to practice orthodontics with his uncle and wifein the town where he grew up. In his free time he enjoys working on home improvement projects and spending timehis wife Heather, daughter Vivian, and his Boxer named Hosty.
A native of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, Dr. Heather Kierl earned her Bachelor of Science from Oklahoma State University and her Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry.
Dr. Heathergraduated at the top of her class at OU College of Dentistry. She graduated as a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Dental Honor Society, highlighting her high academic success. Other awards she received included:
Heather and Philip became parents with the birth of their daughter Vivian in December 2016. They are very happy to begin the journey of parenthood and are excited to be working together at Kierl Orthodontics. Heather enjoys sports, time with friends, working out, and spending time with her family. She is looking forward to the opportunity to provide the best possible care for our patients at Kierl Orthodontics.
We feel the addition of Heather to the practice will enhance our ability to give as much attention as possible to all of our patients and make us better at what we do. We are proud to have her as one of our doctors.
Dr. Jessie Kierl was born and raised in Edmond, Oklahoma before moving on to Oklahoma State University where she earned her Bachelor of Science in Physiology. She continued on to the University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry where she earned both her Doctorate of Dental Surgery and Master of Science degree in Orthodontics.

My daughter had her bottom braces placed in Florida 2 weeks before spending the summer in Edmond with family. Her wire broke and was obviously in discomfort. Dr. Kiel saw her, fixed the problem, ensured it wouldn't happen again and didn't charge a dime. It is clear Dr. Kiel is doing this job because he loves taking care of people. If I were still in Edmond, I would go nowhere else. Thanks for taking care of my baby girl when I am 1500 miles away. I would give 10 stars if I could.

I have nothing but high praise for Kierl Orthodontics. My second child got their braces off today, and both kids now have beautiful teeth to match their beautiful smiles! They made the process quick and easy for us. The Kierl's have treated us like family, and we are a bit sad to say goodbye!

Kierl Orthodontics is unmatched. EVERY single employee is kind, sincere, and generous - you will be treated like family. Dr. Kierl is truly the best. He is observant, he is a good listener, and provides excellent, professional care. He is gentle and understanding of teenagers. We moved from Texas and my daughter was still in orthodontics after 3 years (original timeline was 18-24 months), and after driving back and forth to North Texas for several months with no end in sight, we consulted with Kierl Orthodontics. Dr. Kierl gave her hope with an uplifting talk, clearly showed us what SureSmile can do, fixed the diagonal the former ortho work caused, and we were done in 5 months with a gorgeous smile. My son started last year with Dr. Kierl and was out of braces in 8 months. The SureSmile system utilized at Kierl works! It is faster and more precise than traditional methods. We also did not have to go in every 4 weeks, our appointments were typically every 6-8 weeks. If you live anywhere within driving distance of Kierl Orthodontics, make this your orthodontic home. You will not regret it.

My daughter and I are both patients of Kierl orthodontics and could not be more pleased! Their office is fantastic - from the warm welcome we received when we first walked in, to the personalized attention from every staff member. Dr. Kierl is amazing and went beyond my expectations with my personal treatment plan and I recommend him to every person who asks about my new smile. Last night I broke my permanent retainer panicked and called the emergency number. They were so friendly and assured me that everything would be okay. Then I received a call back with Dr. Keirl on the line he wanted to do it right then, but I said I could wait. Today he replaced it with no problem. We've been seeing Dr. Kierl for about a year and a half, since relocating from out of state. Our previous orthodontist recommended him, and since moving a couple neighbors have as well. He sees all three of my kids and the experience has been great so far! The staff is excellent, too, very friendly and helpful.

Dr. Kierl & his staff have taken care of me through a massive transformation. My teeth were severely out of alignment. At the age of 35, I realized that I had to take steps to improve how I viewed myself, & how I imagined others viewed me. It was terrifying, & lonely, & expensive. This company has held my hand the entire way. I'm over a year into having braces, & the changes have been HUGE. There is no feeling as good as being able to walk into a room & smile without feeling embarrassed of how your face looks when it's happy. And knowing that I not only have friends & family backing me up, but these amazing people at this company... I couldn't ask for a better support group.

FIVE STARS this is the firs time I've ever felt like someone just cared about my dental health and not how much money they were making from it. Everyone is just so nice and helpful the staff make you feel welcome and the doctor's are just amazing, I really can't thank DR. J.
