For your childs first visit, Dr. Blake and Dr. Ryan will take time to get to know your child and develop a relationship. Once your child feels comfortable, we will perform a thorough examination of their teeth, gums, and jaw. We will take safe digital X-rays to check on structural health and make sure everything is as it should be. All the while, we will explain what we are doing, keeping the atmosphere light and cheery.

Pediatricians and pediatric dental experts agree: children should have their first checkup by age 1 or earlier if their first tooth is beginning to erupt. At these visits, our KidSmile Dental team will equip parents with the resources necessary to ensure that their childs teeth are well cared for. Early visits allow us to screen for potential concerns before they become extensive problems down the road.
After high school, Dr. Blake went on a two-year mission for his church in Haiti (he speaks a little French and a lot of creole). In 1991 he married Mary Ann, his now wife of 26 years. Dr. Blake concluded his undergraduate studies at Southern Utah University majoring in Zoology and minoring in Chemistry. He then studied dentistry at Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida where he received his DMD degree.
Dr. Blake and his young family then moved to Tucson, Arizona where he worked in The Childrens Dental Clinic for the next four years. In 2006, Dr. Blake, Mary Ann, and their four children, Sarah, Adam, Nathan, and Hannah, moved to the lovely Spokane area with which they fell in love.
Dr. Blake loves doing anything that involves being with his family, especially snow skiing and things that are water-related. He also loves traveling with his family when time affords and seeing new places.
After spending 2 years in Scotland as a missionary for his church, Dr. Ryan received his undergraduate degree in Exercise Science from Brigham Young University.He then attended A.T. Still Universitys Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health, where he received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine. Following dental school, he completed his specialty training at St. Christophers Hospital for Children in Philadelphia, PA and is certified as a Pediatric Dentist. During his specialty training, he enjoyed treating a diverse patient population and gained extensive experience in treating patients with special health care needs, including those with autism, Down syndrome, cleft lip and palate, and many other complex medical conditions.
Dr. Ryan loves to have fun, and when he is not in the dental clinic, he enjoys spending time with his wife (and high school sweetheart), Nikki, and their four kids. He has always enjoyed sports, especially basketball, and loves both playing and coaching. He and his family are so excited to make this area home!

Jill is a Montana native but has lived in Spokane since 1992 and considers it home. She has worked in the dental field for many years and loves working with kids. Jill is married and has one grown daughter. She also has a sweet old cat named Tuxedo. She enjoys traveling, reading, and cooking in her spare time.
Tanya was born and raised in Spokane. She started her Dental Assisting career here at KidSmile in 2007 and is hoping to retire here! Tanya has always loved working with children and when she finished assisting school, what better office to work at than KidSmile! She is very passionate about her job and loves helping make sure that all children have a wonderful, comfortable experience at the dentist. In her free time she loves to spend time with her family. She enjoys cooking and spending time outside hiking, getting dirty in her garden and playing with her chickens!
Zoriya was born Modesto, CA, but was raised all over the country because her father was in the U.S. Army. She graduated from Carrington College and has been an assistant at our office since 2019. She is very passionate about creating a loving and caring environment for the children in our office. She believes that creating a positive environment for the children when theyre younger, creates a positive mindset when theyre older and out of our office! During her free time she enjoys painting, hiking, traveling and spending time with friends and dogs!
Tina was born and raised in Priest River, ID. She has been working for KidSmile Dental since 1998. She loves working with children and has enjoyed watching them grow throughout the years. In her spare time, Tina enjoys golfing and spending time outdoors.
Ashley was born and raised in Spokane Valley. She graduated from Eastern Washington University with her Bachelors Degree in Dental Hygiene. Ashley has been working for KidSmile since 2013. She has always been passionate about working with kids and strives to provide a positive and enjoyable experience for them at the dentist. In her free time, she loves spending time with her family at the lake and enjoys being outside in the sunshine.
Maria was born and raised in Texas. She moved to Spokane and has been living in Spokane Valley for over 15 years. Maria has been working for KidSmile since 2014 as a Dental Assistant. She loves working with kids due to their candid personalities. She provides a positive dental experience to every child every day. In her free time she loves to cook and spend time with family and friends sight seeing, traveling and enjoying life.
Madison is from Spokane, WA. She started at KidSmile in 2020. She loves working at KidSmile because of the upbeat, happy environment. She also loves being able to connect with the kids and make their dental experiences positive. Madison enjoys spending time with her son after work each day.
Liya was born in Kazakhstan and grew up living all around the Pacific Northwest. She was previously a childcare teacher and loves spending time with children. Savannah was born and raised in Grand Coulee. She graduated from Carrington College and became a dental assistant and now is front desk at our Airway Heights location. Savannah started working at Kidsmile in 2018. She loves spending time in the mountains and going to the lake with her family.
Tyffanie was born in Longview, Washington, but has lived in Spokane most of her life. She graduated from Spokane Falls Community College with a degree in Business Management. Tyffanie has been working at KidSmile since 2021. She loves that she can combine her love of kids and administrative skills to help make the dentist a positive experience for kiddos. In her free time, Tyffanie enjoys baking cupcakes and running her food blog, Spokane Eats Ranch!
Dulce was born in Florence, Arizona. Dulce has been working at KidSmile since October of 2020. She has always been passionate about working with kids and loves making an enjoyable environment for kids at the dentist. In her free time, Dulce loves playing her ukulele and spending time in the sun by the lake with friends and family.
Makayla was born and raised in Spokane Valley. She has moved all around the country but has always called Spokane home! She started with KidSmile at the start of 2020. She has always loved working with children. Just before she started with KidSmile she was a kindergarten teacher, focused on a Montessori curriculum. The dental field has always been an interest for Makayla, and Dental Assisting was a perfect place to start. In her free time she enjoys kayaking and spending time with her family!
Tricia was born and raised in the Spokane Valley. She graduated from SCC with a Dental Assistant degree in 2009. She worked in oral surgery for 9 years as a surgical assistant. Started at KidSmile in Jan 2021. She loves interacting with the kids and helping in any way she can. Outside of work she loves spending time with my family. She likes to do anything outdoors like camping, kayaking and hiking.
Alisha was born and raised here in Spokane. She has been a Pediatric Dental Assistant for 11 years now. She has been working for KidSmile Dental since 2019. She has always enjoyed working with children from a young age. She has 2 children and 2 dogs that keep her on her toes, one adult son and one teenage daughter. In her free time she loves paint, shop, talk, and she really enjoys travelingbeing spontaneous is her thing! She loves spending time with her dogswait, and her kids too, haha!
Elanya was born and mostly raised in Spokane, along with Florida, Idaho and Oregon. Elanyas started her dental journey in August 2020, graduating in 2021 from Carrington College. She loves working at KidSmile because the children are fun to work with and the staff are all wonderful. Outside of work Elanya likes reading, and switching between Netflix, Amazon Prime and Disney+. In October of 2021 Elanya got engaged to her boyfriend of 3 years.
Cameron was raised out near Rockford, Washington and graduated from Carrington College here in Spokane. Hes a friendly assistant with a love for helping others and working with children. Cameron has a desire to learn and expand his knowledge everyday and get to know each and every kiddo he works with. During his free time, he likes to drive, play video games, spend time with his wife, and cook food. He and his wife are expecting their first baby at the end of the year and couldnt be more excited.
