Dr. Sierra is a Tampa native who graduated from The University of South Florida with a Bachelors degree in Natural Sciences and Master of Science in Public Health. He earned Doctor of Dental Medicine from The University of Florida College of Dentistry with awards in pediatrics. Following dental school, he completed residency training in pediatric dentistry at University of FloridaShands Hospital. He is board certified in pediatric dentistry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Sierra is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Academy of Laser Dentistry, International Affiliation of Tongue-Tie Professionals, and American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He has served as President of Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Florida Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association.
Dr. Sierra is on the clinical faculty at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. He is an author and has made national presentations in the dental care of the child with facial differences. He has been involved in family-centered care and oral health care for children with special needs for over 20 years.
Dr. Mia Kwon is originally from Seoul, South Korea. When she was 14, she moved to California to study abroad by herself. After high school, she decided to continue her education in the U.S. because she enjoyed being here so much. In 2011, she received her B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of WisconsinMadison. In 2015, she received her D.M.D. degree with cum laude from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. In dental school, she was actively involved in community based dental volunteer clinics, health fairs, and school based oral hygiene education programs. During this time, she found her passion for interacting and treating young children and decided to devote her career to pediatrics. She received her certificate of advanced education in pediatric dentistry from NYU Langone Hospitals Florida in June 2018. During her time in residency, she fell in love with the sunshine state and after she graduated she decided to make Florida her permanent home. Dr. Kwon is a board certified pediatric dentist.
Outside of work, Dr. Kwon enjoys cooking and baking, which allows her to continue to express the same creativity and dexterity she uses in her dental practice. She is also passionate about music. She enjoys playing the piano and violin, as she has done since ages 5 and 12, respectively. Her favorite part of the day is singing Disney songs with her patients.

They were so awesome with my little guy he's 7 years old and I thought he was going to be scared but they did great she talked to him the whole time and had a conversation and it was just I wouldn't recommend anybody else but these people this dentist is the best

Everyone in this office is so nice! This is the very first time my kids didn't leave the dentist in tears and traumatized.... they actually had fun! Highly recommend!

The dental assistant Jayla was the best! She Made us feel a lot better about taking our autistic daughter to the dentist. Even was able to prevent a huge meltdown during the appointment. Doc also impressed us with being so polite and informative even as my child was not being still or quiet! We found the dental home for our baby! Very pleased

Kids Smiles is a great pediatric dentist. They are very patient, efficient and informative. Dr. Kwon is very nice, gentle with the kids and always explanatory with her treatment plans. Delaney was one of the assistants to do the cleanings for my two boys and was absolutely great. I drive almost an hour just to come to this practice and have been doing it for years because I don't want to go anywhere else. If you want a place that will treat your child well and also have the best interests for their future dental health in mind, this is the place to go.

To whom it may concern...Tried to get information on becoming a new patient, the girl on the phone said I needed my daughters Dental ID, I told her I have the medical Id. She said I needed to call my dental insurance first because the Medicaid wasn't the number they needed. I call the dental insurance and It was explained to me the med ID and dental ID are the same. So I call back to request an appointment because I have the information needed and then she wants to say they aren't taking any new patients...until January. Thanks for the "help." The best Dentist office ever. Since the moment you walk in to the moment you walk out it's just warming. I have taken my Autistic son to other dentist office and the treatment, patient, and dedication to the patients is the best. My son will always go here. I drive almost 2 hours to take him there. Dr. Sierra is one of the kindest and most skilled dentists I have ever encountered. He reviewed my son's case and provided a detailed treatment plan. Dr.Sierra restored my son's teeth with my son repeating " I am so glad my teeth are fixed". Additionally, every interaction with his office staff was seamless. The staff went above and beyond for us with providing excellent service and always putting our minds at ease. I am so grateful we were able to have my son's dental work completed by Dr. Sierra.

I have been bringing my young son to Kids Smiles Dentistry for five years, and they are just the best. They are a top notch dental practice on the medical side, but more importantly, they have a wonderful way with the children. All the staff are kind, professional, and dedicated to making the children feel comfortable. My son likes going to the dentist! They take time to make sure he doesn't have fear or pain associated with the dentist. I can't recommend them enough. <3
