Dr. Sierra is a Tampa native who graduated from The University of South Florida with a Bachelors degree in Natural Sciences and Master of Science in Public Health. He earned Doctor of Dental Medicine from The University of Florida College of Dentistry with awards in pediatrics. Following dental school, he completed residency training in pediatric dentistry at University of FloridaShands Hospital. He is board certified in pediatric dentistry and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Dr. Sierra is a member of the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, Academy of Laser Dentistry, International Affiliation of Tongue-Tie Professionals, and American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association. He has served as President of Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the Florida Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association.
Dr. Sierra is on the clinical faculty at the University of South Florida, Morsani College of Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics. He is an author and has made national presentations in the dental care of the child with facial differences. He has been involved in family-centered care and oral health care for children with special needs for over 20 years.
Dr. Mia Kwon is originally from Seoul, South Korea. When she was 14, she moved to California to study abroad by herself. After high school, she decided to continue her education in the U.S. because she enjoyed being here so much. In 2011, she received her B.S. in Biochemistry from the University of WisconsinMadison. In 2015, she received her D.M.D. degree with cum laude from the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. In dental school, she was actively involved in community based dental volunteer clinics, health fairs, and school based oral hygiene education programs. During this time, she found her passion for interacting and treating young children and decided to devote her career to pediatrics. She received her certificate of advanced education in pediatric dentistry from NYU Langone Hospitals Florida in June 2018. During her time in residency, she fell in love with the sunshine state and after she graduated she decided to make Florida her permanent home. Dr. Kwon is a board certified pediatric dentist.
Outside of work, Dr. Kwon enjoys cooking and baking, which allows her to continue to express the same creativity and dexterity she uses in her dental practice. She is also passionate about music. She enjoys playing the piano and violin, as she has done since ages 5 and 12, respectively. Her favorite part of the day is singing Disney songs with her patients.

Really appreciate them taking care of my nephew. I drove to Tampa from Orlando. Appointment was at 4:00 and I got there 30 mins late . Instead of rescheduling, they insist on doing the left side of his mouth and maybe right if my nephew cooperate. Thank you so much, Blessing to them all

Really efficient and good with kids. Ana is a great hygienist. Dr. Kwan anticipates problems and doesn't do any procedures until she knows they are needed.

This is the best place to go for kids with special needs. My kiddo has Autism and we have had no luck with other providers in the past. We have been with kid smiles for about 6 years.

We had a great experience here from start to finish. The moment we walked in the door, we were greeted with wonderful personalities from the front desk staff. We had a very short wait and were greeted by our incredible assistant Caitlin. My daughter was nervous from the get go, but Caitlin did a really good job of making her feel at ease. She explained everything she was doing before she did it. She was gentle and fun and my daughters nervousness disappeared almost instantly. Dr. Kwon was also very welcoming, kind and gentle. I highly recommend bringing your child here if they are nervous about going to the dentist. It is very kid friendly with the art on the walls, and just the overall vibe you get the minute you walk in the door!

Outstanding practice that puts the customer first. My wife and I have four kids ranging from 5 - 10 and they toke us all back at the same time. From the help desk, the nurse Kassandra and the final touch with Dr. Kuan everything was first class. The team took their time to explain everything that was going on, made recommendations and allowed us to make a choice. We did not feel pressured. This is now our practice of choice and they are one of the only ones near MacDill that take Tricare.

Dr Kwon/Dr Sierra and staff are amazing! All four of my kids have had wonderful experiences with everyone at Kids Smiles. Most importantly, they are all patient with our sweet daughter (Katie) who is medically fragile and confined to a wheelchair. During the cleaning Katie was a bit irritated with having her mouth messed with, however, the staff came together and calmly worked as a team to help Katie feel comfortable during her cleaning! It was a success! So blessed my children have this group of kind, patient, and caring staff!

Today was our first time for our boys (4 & 6) getting their teeth cleaned, X-rays,etc. The ladies in the front of the office when you walk in we're so sweet and the dentist assistant along with the doctor were amazing! Talked to the kids about ALL the procedures that were going on, they were all so patient with us. I'm so happy that they all enjoy their careers with children! Thank you for all you do and the best experience to my children!
