Dr. A Patrick Smithwick III, or Dr. Paddy Smithwick as the patients call him, is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist and reached attending status at Childrens Hospital of Colorado. After graduating from Hobart College, Dr. Paddy Smithwick was trained at the University of Maryland College of Dental Surgery (fun fact: it was the first dental school in the nation) where he placed in the top five percent on the National Dental Board Exam.

He continued his specialty training in pediatric dentistry for an additional two years at New York University and the world-renowned Bellevue Hospital where he was trained in growth and development, orthodontics, hospital dentistry, sedation and general anesthesia. Dr. Paddy also trained at the RFK Center for the treatment of children with developmental disabilities and the Hassenfeld Center of Hematology and Oncology. While in New York, he was an integral part of the cranial facial/cleft lip and palate team at the NYU Medical Center. Phew! That was a lot of schooling!

After moving to Atlanta, Georgia, he became the lead pediatric dentist and partner of a multi-specialty, multi-location group practice. While he loved his time in Atlanta, after four years, Dr. PaddySmithwick decided it was time to move to his dream city of Denver, Colorado, where he could fulfill his love of the outdoors and extreme skiing dont worry, he wears a mouthguard.

Dr. Paddy has been in private practice in Colorado since 2012. He is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), the Colorado Dental Association (CDA), the Metro Denver Dental Society (MDDS), the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (AAPD) and the Colorado Academy of Pediatric Dentistry (CAPD).

Dr. Paddy has helped the underserved in Denver, as well as in New York City, Baltimore and Atlanta. On the global front, he led outreach programs in Central America (Honduras) and is looking at opportunities to start a pediatric dental office in Kenya, Africa. Dr. Paddy donates his time to both Give Kids a Smile and KIND (Kids in Need of Dentistry).

When not engaged in tooth-related pursuits, Dr. Paddy is vigorously involved in the Denver and Colorado lifestyle. As a three-sport athlete, Dr. Paddy grew up playing soccer, ice hockey and lacrosse, but skiing is his passion. In the summer, Dr. Paddy loves to take advantage of Colorados sunshine by camping, fly-fishing, white-water rafting and golfing.

Dr. Paddys mission is to give your child the absolute best dental care using the most up-to-date techniques and modern equipment. He strives to get to know each patient as an individual with his or her own interests and habits. Hes also dedicated to making going to the dentist a fun, positive experience, which why theres always something going on in the office, whether Dr. Paddy is rocking his Santa Claus or Superman onesies, enforcing a Denver Broncos jersey dress code before a big game or having the whole staff wear ugly Christmas sweaters. And, of course, keep an eye out for Dr. Paddys trademark crazy socks. A haberdasher himself, Bubbs, the office mascot, likes dressing up in his seasonal outfits as well.

Dr. Paddy enjoys making memories and feels blessed to love his job. It is his honor and privilege to be part of the life of each one of his patients. Dr. Paddy looks forward to getting to know you and your children.

Dr. Roger Castro is a Central Park pediatric dentist, serving young patients in Denver and the surrounding communities. He attended the University of Maryland School of Dentistry and received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. If that sounds familiar, its because thats where Dr. Paddy went to school too and they were actually friends and classmates, both graduating in 2007! When Dr. Roger was finished with dental school, he packed up and headed to New York City and completed two years of residency in general dentistry at the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center. (Dr. Paddy did his residency in New York City as well. These two were meant to perfect smiles at Kids Mile High Central Park together!) With one residency under his belt, Dr. Roger returned to the Bronx-Lebanon Hospital Center to pursue a postdoctoral program in pediatric dentistry where he served as Chief Resident.

Now, Dr. Roger treats kiddos of all ages including those with special needs. He specializes in preventative and comprehensive dental services like dental exams, sealants, tooth-colored fillings, mouthguards, extractions and interceptive orthodontics. He absolutely loves working with kids and is passionate about providing a positive, fun dental experience for both parent and child.

Dr. Roger Castro is a member of numerous dental organizations, including the American Dental Association and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He lives in Denver and when hes not helping his young patients get sparkling smiles, he likes watching movies, eating ice cream, skiing, trying new restaurants and traveling. Dr. Roger is also fluent in Spanish!

Dr. Meredith Ghivizzani recently moved to Denver with her husband to join the Kids Mile High Team! She has been practicing pediatric dentistry in Houston, Texas for the past few years, but was looking to be closer to family and the mountains.

Dr. Meredith is originally from Gainesville, Florida and attended the University of Florida for her undergraduate studies, Go Gators! She then earned a Masters of Science from the University of South Florida and a Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Temple University in Philadelphia. Dr. Meredith is also credentialed at the Childrens Hospital Colorado!

Early on, Dr. Ghivizzani had the dream of being a pediatric dentist, so after dental school she continued on to a residency in Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston. During the additional two-year program she had extensive exposure to moderate oral sedation, IV sedation, and general anesthesia at both Texas Childrens Hospital and Childrens Memorial Hermann Hospital. While at UT, Dr. Meredith also received a Masters of Science in Dentistry for her research with nasoalveolar molding for patients with cleft lip and palate.

Dr. Meredith enjoys treating children of all ages- from infants to teenagers, and those with special health care needs. She is an active member of the ABPD, AAPD, and the Junior League of Denver. She is so excited about all the hiking, skiing, and camping Colorado has to offer!

Dr. Brandon Scheer was born in Wichita, Kansas, where he comes from a long family tradition of practicing dentistry. His great-grandfather, Dr. George W. Scheer, moved to Wichita in 1918 and started a dental practice. That practice was then passed down to his son, Dr. Harold Scheer, who practiced dentistry there until he retired and passed the practice on to his son, Dr. Brick Scheer. Dr. Brick Scheer is Dr. Brandon Scheers father and still practices dentistry in Wichita today.

After completing his undergraduate education at Wichita State University, Dr. Brandon Scheer decided to continue the family legacy and moved to Indiana to study dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry. While there, he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree, graduated with highest honors, was inducted by vote of faculty into membership of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon National Dental Honor Society and was recognized with an award for Excellence in Oral Biology.

During dental school, Dr. Scheer went to Kenya on a cooperative mission with Kenyan dental students at Moi University to provide dental care for the homeless children in the city of Eldoret. The following year, he went to Ecuador with a dental missions group traveling from village to village to provide dental care. Those experiences helped strengthen an already strong spirit of service.

Following dental school, Dr. Scheer completed an orthodontic residency program at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine and earned a Master of Science in Dentistry (MSD) and a Certificate in Orthodontics.

My children love coming to the dentist because of the excellent care the entire staff provide. The atmosphere is inviting and kind. We love it because all four of my kids can be seen at the same time. They make my children feel comfortable and safe. I would recommend this dentist to anyone in the area. They truly care for your children's teeth health.

Dr Paddy and his team are nothing short of INCREDIBLE!! They are absolutely wonderful with kids and make the whole dental experience fun. Not only are they extremely knowledgeable and patient, but also the office is a very kid-friendly atmosphere with lots of games and entertainment. My kids call it "going to the fun dentist," and I know they are taken care of. Thank you guys for the incredible job you do!! I absolutely recommend this practice

Never again! Rude staff, not at all child friendly pretty much made my child be traumatized for life from going to the dentist. Was told twice I will get a call back and nothing again!

Thanks for pointing out my child's 'crooked' teeth while I was out of the room. She immediately was concerned about her smile after she left, I had to tell her that her smile was beautiful. Next time, think about telling the parent away from the children, because kids are self conscious about everything.

My teen had several cavities filled today. Front office staff was nice even though I was asked to come in earlier than previously scheduled. Hygienist were straight to the point, not overly nicely but by no means rude. (No complaints) We learned that they can not be numbed in their lower jaw. I wish i had intervened earlier and suggested sedation. I wish someone had suggested it instead of trying to power through it. Because my teen's appointment was around at 11:30am and ended at about 12:30pm on a Friday before snow was scheduled to arrive; there was a rush to get my child out so they could leave for the day. No one said it but you could feel it. My teen vomited shortly after arriving home. Dr. Roger replied to my message in a reasonable time and gave reasonable suggestions as to why my child was vomiting and offered for me to call back if i needed anything. I can't place blame in any place really. It just wasn't great visit.

Went there for our son's first dentist appointment. We were a little late (15 months instead of 12) due to having to move the family to be closer to the children's hospital because of his cystic fibrosis and the Dr was very clear in how much of a mistake on our part this was. Our son is also on a special diet due to his CF but the Dr let us know what a mistake listening to his care team at the center was about his nutritional needs and the feeding suggested by our dietitian from the CF center. My wife cried while he googled the condition... We're going to look for another dental practice.

I have brought my soon to be 3 year old here sense she got her very first tooth!! These guys are so awesome and welcoming at every visit. Dental appointments aren't the most exciting but somehow the experience is nothing short of exceptional. Super professional and precise with any abnormalities they discover. Dr. Roger is who we see!!

I had never took my daughter to get any work done besides a cleaning to her regular doctor. I took my daughter here and my 3 year old daughter experienced so much pain from them not properly finishing the job. She ended in the emergency room and had so much infection that they had to remove both teeth and diagnosed her with facial cellulitis that could have caused her to go bling and the infection could had led to her brain. They were the nicest ppl but, my daughter will for ever be terrified of the dentist.

My son had his first dental cleaning at Mile High Pediatric Dentistry this morning and we had a great experience! We arrived early and they brought him back immediately, were very kind and understanding throughout the cleaning, and encouraged him through positive reinforcement. My son was very nervous about this visit and had trouble with gagging during the cleaning but the dental hygienist and doctor were both very understanding and patient with him! Thank you for a wonderful experience. Highly recommend.

My medical complex/sensory kiddo was terrified to go to the dentist. She had so much anxiety, that instantly dissolved when she saw the fish tank in the waiting area. She was a bit scared but everyone was gentle towards her. Before we went there, she would hardly let me brush her teeth. It was a real struggle. She really listened to the dentist and now brushes her teeth "like he told her to" and lets me finish. It is a night and day difference.
