Tracy Bowden, DDS Dr. Tracy Bowden attended dental school at the Medical College of Virginia, graduating with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 1987. He received his specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from MCV in 1989 and is certified in pediatric advanced life support. He has practiced in the Timonium, Maryland, area for 28 years and advances his dental knowledge monthly through continuing education.
Dr. Bowden is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Baltimore County Dental Association, in which he has past served as president. He is well respected in the Greater Baltimore dental community and is consistently recognized as one of the top pediatric dentists in the state, according to an annual survey conducted by Baltimore Magazine.
Dr. Bowdens goal as a dentist is to positively impact his patients lives by helping them maintain a happy, healthy smile through childhood and into adulthood. He takes great pride in the relationships he has built with many families over the years.Dr. Bowden has three sons, one of whom practices with him at Kids First Pediatric Dentistry. His hobbies include tennis, traveling, and spending quality time with his children and family.
Austin Bowden, DDS Dr. Austin Bowden, son of Dr. Tracy Bowden, earned his bachelors degree from the University of Delaware and attended dental school at the prestigious University of Maryland, where he graduated at the top of his class in 2014. While in dental school, he served as the president of the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry student chapter and was actively involved in the Hispanic Dental Association. He received his specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from St. Christophers Hospital for Children in June 2016. Dr. Austin has practiced in our office part time since June 2014 and has been a full-time team member since July 2016.
Dr. Austin is a member of the American Dental Association, the Maryland State Dental Association, the Baltimore County Dental Association, and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. He is also a member of the Gama Pi Delta Operative Dentistry Honor Society and continues to advance his dental education on a monthly basis.
Dr. Austin comes from a family of dentists, with 8 close relatives, including his mother and father, who are also dentists. He enjoys making lasting impressions on his patients and interacting with their parents. As a dentist, his goal is to provide the highest quality of care in a fun, safe, and nurturing environment.
Margie Hernandez, DDS Dr. Hernandez graduated with her bachelors degree from University of Richmond and attended dental school at the University of Maryland, where she graduated with her DDS degree in 1990. She received her specialty certificate in pediatric dentistry from the Childrens National Medical Center in Washington D.C. in 1989 and has been practicing in the Baltimore area ever since.
Dr. Hernandez is board certified through the American Board of Pediatric dentistry and is also a member of the Maryland Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. Like Dr. Bowden, she is held in high regard amongst the Greater Baltimore dental community and is consistently recognized as one of the top pediatric dentists in the state, according to the annual survey conducted by Baltimore Magazine.
Dr. Hernandezs goal as a dentist is to provide a safe, comfortable, and happy environment for her patients while providing quality care. She takes pride in truly enjoying her profession and believes the most rewarding aspect of her job is seeing her patients grow up and mature over the years. Dr. Hernandez is married and has 2 children, both whom are currently in college. Her hobbies include weightlifting, yoga, meditation, and skiing.
Cynthia S., RDH, CDA Clinical Coordinator & Dental Hygienist Cynthia has been with our team for 18 years and has 27 years of experience in the dental field, beginning as a certified dental assistant and progressing into other areas of dentistry, including general anesthesia cases and dental hygiene. She has been a registered dental hygienist for 16 years. She graduated from the dental hygiene program at BCC in 2001 with the highest clinical grade chairside and was honored with the Hu Friedy Balden Scaler Award for her high level of competency in the clinic.
Cynthia is proud of what our practice stands for and strives to apply our philosophy in her daily work, treating both parents and children with respect and helping children to have a positive experience when they visit our dentist. She strives to provide the highest level of care and make the clinical areas of our practice as efficient as possible.
Anayancy M., RDH, DA Dental Hygienist Anayancy joined our practice in June 2014, and has 10 years of experience in dentistry 8 years as a dental assistant and 2 years as a dental hygienist. She completed her dental education at Baltimore City Community College and Northern Essex Community College. Anayancy loves working with the children who visit our office!
Denise S., CDA,DRT Insurance Coordinator Denise joined our team in 2015. She began working in the dental field as a dental assistant in 1995, and transitioned into an administrative role in 2015, although she still loves assisting chairside when needed. She joined the dental field as a way to help people.
Denise enjoys being with her family and friends and playing Wii sports. She is active as a Team mom. To our patients, she says, Keep your smile healthy and happy! It is what people will always remember about you!
Deborah S., DRT, DA Dental Assistant Debora joined our team in January 2016. She completed her dental training at the Fortis Institute in Townson, Maryland. She loves working with the children who visit our practice.
Winnie D., QDA, DRT Dental Assistant Winnie joined our practice in December 2006, and has 26 years of experience in the dental field, including 15 years as a dental assistant in a general practice. She received her dental training at Baltimore City Community College.
Andrea joined our team in 2002. She completed her dental training at Medix and has almost 14 years of experience in the dental field. She completed her internship in a general dental practice and has been with our office ever since!

Dr. Tracy and Austin Bowden are a parents dream. My daughter was sent to them because she was considered a "difficult" patient. They have been so patient and accommodating. I would recommend all my family and friends to see them if I could! Glad we found a home with them.

Went to this facility for the first time in 2020. They scheduled my daughter for a follow up in July 2021 - we were out of the country due to her father being based abroad. That is the first appointment we missed and I did not remember to reschedule due to the appointment being made 6 months prior. Missed our second appointment and called to reschedule due to my daughter running a fever (not sure if they would like a sick child in their facility). Called to schedule a new appointment and was denied service due to many missed appointments. I explained the situation to inform the facility that I wasn't openly missing appointments but they were unique circumstances. No one got back to me but I receive a letter in the mail yesterday expressing that they cannot see my daughter due to the missed appointments. That is fine, we will find another dentist. However, every situation is different - I encourage your business to actually hear out the circumstances the family might be in and make a decision based on that; especially when your main customers are kids! for that I will give this business one star. Poor customer service.

If I could rate them 1000 stars it would be well deserved if not more. My daughter is very difficult to deal with and both dentists were so patient with her and reassuring to me that it's ok because I was becoming frustrated and overwhelmed. I absolutely love this dentist office and highly recommend them!

This dentist is a absolutely amazing!! Cynthia the nurse always makes you feel welcome along with everyone there, They're very gentle and always let you know what they're going to do before they do it. Dr. Bowden is extremely kind and you can tell everyone there really cares about their job and strives to make everyone feel healthy and comfortable. Highly recommend

Firstly I will state the dentist I worked with on Oct 31,2019 was very nice(I believe it was Tracy Bowden) welcoming, informative and easy going with both me and my 18 month old at that time. The staff were also very friendly and it is easy to get a last minute appointment. The downside to us not returning is that the dentist himself reccommended i get a second opinion even though I DIDNOT disagree with his judgement . I DID disagree with having to wait nearly 3 months to get the needed procedure performed on my child. I called a few other dentist, and in short my kids new dentist is encouraging us to brush his teeth more frequently, reduce the excessive breastfeeding which was the main factor for his decay and that if in three months, the decay is not slowing down she would perform the procedure and it would not be a three month waitlist. Otherwise she wants us to wait until our child is three or 4 so he doesnt have to be put asleep. I prefer a doctor who at least tries alternatives before rushing to surgery.

Absolutely Amazing!!! I cannot say enough about Kids First Pediatric Dentistry! Everyone is friendly and helpful at the office. Both of my children are patients and love the entire staff. This is extremely surprising if you know my 8 year old son who had a horrible experience with a dentist when he was 3. It resulted in a broken tooth and the need for an oral surgery. That horrible experience filled my son with fear and anxiety! It made the last 5 years nearly impossible for dental work. Cleanings alone were a struggle. He would cry, make himself sick and have mini panic attacks at the mention of a dental visit. Not to mention totally stressed me out!! Lol However, now that we have found Kids First Pediatric Dentistry and Dr. Austin we no longer have to worry. Dr. Austin has earned my sons trust and has built a bond that I never thought I'd see. He was patient and kind he listened to my concerns but more importantly he listened to my son Luke's concerns and fears. Dr.Austin took "baby steps" with him he started with a relaxed exam, and then came a cleaning. The entire time using a calm and reassuring voice to explain everything to my son. Dr.Austin really took the time to talk to my son and make him feel comfortable. They joked around, discussed likes and dislikes and even made their own "buddy club". I knew my son needed some extensive work to get him back on the right track with his dental hygiene. Dr Austin sat with me and prepared a plan that would work with my sons anxiety. He knew we wanted to avoid general anesthesia. So we formulated a plan to try to accomplish the work in stages of need be. Today my son had multiple cavities filled and sealant applied in one sitting in the office...without any panic attacks! This is something that never thought I'd see. I cannot thank Dr. Austin enough and I'm on the verge of crying happy tears as I type this...he has truly has changed our lives!

My boys are usually apprehensive about seeing a dentist, but Dr. Bowden was very patient with them and made them feel at ease. I would highly recommend. Friendly staff and not much wait time also.

Kids First has a wonderful and attentive staff. They make the kids feel comfortable and educate the kids and parents. Our 14 year old twins have been there since they were 3 and always have a positive experience.

My son had his second visit today. His first was when he was 9 months old. Today at 15 months old he seemed very comfortable. He did not appear to be anxious or scared. He even was playful with all the staff. I am very pleased with the service and professionalism. I plan to use this practice for as long as possible. I would gladly recommend this practice to family, friends, and strangers. Hurry and make an appointment for your child so they can get a great dental experienced
