Founding dentists Dr. Tyler Carter and Dr. Randy Weinshel are board certified by the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and both have been awarded Top Pediatric Dentist by Phoenix Magazine. They enjoy giving personal, one-on-one attention to their patients and developing trusting relationships with parents and families. They also love working with children who have special needs.

For your convenience, Kids First has an office in Chandler, and a brand new office in Queen Creek. We are dedicated to maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness in our waiting rooms, open bay treatment areas, and individual treatment rooms. Our offices are designed to create a welcoming, friendly atmosphere so your child feels comfortable, safe, and clean.

Dr Tyler Carter was born in Arizona and raised nearby in Mesa. After high school, he served as a missionary in Brazil where he became fluent in Portuguese and gaineda greaterlove and appreciation for those of different backgrounds and cultures. He then attended Arizona State University, earned his B.S. degree in Medical Science andwent on to graduate Magna Cumme Laude from the University of Colorado School of Dentistry. Dr Tyler completed his two-year residency at Sunrise Childrens Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada where he earned his Specialty Certificate in Pediatric Dentistry. At the end of his residency, Dr Tyler was awarded the Richard C. Pugh Achievement Award, which honors graduates who scored in the Top 3% of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry written qualifying exam. He is a diplomate (board certified) of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry.

Dr Tyler loves his job. He really enjoys working with children and teenagers, especially those with special needs. He likes the challenge of helping those that are anxious to have a successful and positive experience at the dentist. He was selected by his peers as a Top Pediatric Dentist in the Phoenix Magazine for 2014 and 2020.

Dr Tyler loves being outdoors. He likes riding his horses, dirt bike riding, hiking, exploring, and planting fruit trees. He especially loves these activities when doing them with his wonderful wife, Jennie, and their three children. Dr. Tylers talents include annoying his wife and embarrassing his children.

Following dental school, Dr. Randy served 3 years in the U.S. Army as a general dentist. During this time, he completed a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency and served one year in Iraq. He then completed his two-year pediatric dentistry residency at Cincinnati Childrens Hospital Medical Center. He remained at the residency to do an extensive fellowship in cleft lip/palate.

Dr. Randy enjoys doing all aspects of pediatric dentistry and treating children with craniofacial abnormalities and those with special needs. He served over 10 years as the Pediatric Dental Consultant for the Barrow Craniofacial Team at St. Josephs Hospital. He is the Section Chief for Dentistry and Oral Surgery at Phoenix Childrens Hospital. Dr. Randy is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and a member of American Dental Association, and the Arizona Dental Association.

Dr. Randy was selected as a Top Pediatric Dentist for 2015 by Phoenix Magazine. He lives in Phoenix with his wife and two children (one daughter and one son). In his free time, he enjoys running, hiking, skiing, traveling and spending time with his family.

Dr. Nathan West grew up in Gilbert, Arizona and is thrilled to have returned back to his home state after practicing as a board-certified pediatric dentist in Texas for almost 10 years.He earned his Bachelors degree from the University of Arizona (Bear Down!), after which he attended the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (DMD) degree.Because of his love for working with children, he pursued further specialization by completing a 2-year pediatric dental residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio.

Dr. Nathan loves being a pediatric dentist and getting to work with children every day!He also values opportunities to give back.While in Texas, he donated his time and talents to the Save-A-Smile program, and he was the dental liaison to the Childrens Oral Health Coalition.While serving on this committee, he headed a program dedicated to improving dental access for pregnant teens, as well as providing them education to ensure ideal dental care for their new babies.

When hes not helping make healthy smiles and building positive dental experiences, he enjoys spending time with his wife and five kids.Some of their favorite activities together include hiking and camping, playing outdoors, going on road trips, and watching movies, to name just a few.He also likes working on projects around the house as well as grilling and smoking meat.Dr. Nathan is also an Eagle Scout and is fluent in Spanish.

Melissa was born in Kearny, Arizona and has lived here her entire life. She is married and has 4 children 2 boys and 2 girls. She has worked in the dental field for over 15 years as both a dental assistant and as a treatment coordinator. She enjoys pediatric dentistry more than any other specialty. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, camping, shopping, cooking, and baking.

Delfina was born in Santa Fe, NM grew up in Kansas and resides her adult life here in the sunshine state of Arizona. She is happily married and has two beautiful children. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, shopping, singing and following the Los Angeles Dodgers! She has been in the pediatric dentistry field for 15 years and enjoys making children's dental experiences the best they can be!

Linda moved to Arizona in 1973, having grown up in the state of Washington. She has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. She has worked in the dental field for 35 years! She enjoys traveling, music, sports, and cooking. You can often catch her a local farmers markets on the weekends, where she sells her Italian pasta sauces.

Vanessa is originally from California but has lived in Arizona for several years. She has been in the dental field for 11 years and has 3 wonderful children. She enjoys spending time with her kids, friends, and family and loves a good cup of coffee any time of the day.

Bri was born in Pennsylvania, but has lived in Arizona the majority of her life. She has two children who keep her and her husband very busy. Bri became a hygienist in 2004 and has worked in Pediatrics her entire dental career. In her free time she likes to spend time up north in Pinetop with her family.

Brittany grew up in Maui, Hawaii and moved to Arizona in 2003. Brittany and her husband share a home in Queen Creek with their two kids. She has been in the dental field since 2004 and loves working with kids. In her free time she enjoys working out and spending time with her family.

Brittney has been in the dental field for 10 years. She worked as our dental assistant prior to attending hygiene school. We are thrilled to have her back on our team as a hygienist. She is married and has a little boy. In her spare time she enjoys being outdoors and spending time with her family. She is very passionate about all aspects of pediatric dentistry and really enjoys helping the children to feel comfortable in the dental chair.

Andrea was raised in Mesa, AZ. She is married and has two children, Logan and Addison. She began her career in pediatric dentistry in 2017 after realizing she had a passion for educating children on the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene which in turn benefits their overall health. During her free time Andrea loves to travel, spend time with her family, and read.

Katie was born in Utah, but moved to Mesa, Arizona when she was 2 years old. She is a mother to 3 boys and 1 girl. Her passion is working with kids and she loves teaching them about their oral hygiene. Katie has a major sweet tooth and loves to work out. Her perfect day would be spent relaxing on the beach.

Laura was born in Mexico and has lived in Arizona her entire life. She has two boys and loves to go camping with her family. Laura has worked both in the front and back office in dentistry. She loves working as a dental assistant and looks forward to greeting each and every child with a smile.

Allison was born and raised in Southern California and moved to AZ in 2001. She has been in the dental field for 20+ years and has been in pediatrics for 13 years. She is happily married with one daughter. She enjoys doing anything crafty in her spare time.

Emily was born in Anaheim, CA, and raised in San Luis, AZ. She has been working as a dental assistant since 2013. In her spare time, she enjoys taking road trips with her husband and two Boxer puppies to enjoy the outdoors and nature.

Asheli was born and raised in Arizona. She married her high school sweetheart and they have 4 kids, 2 boys and 2 girls. She has worked with kids in different aspects for many years and is very excited to be working with kids now in dentistry. She enjoys photography, baking, dance parties and having fun outdoors with her family.
