One of our favorite activities is going to preschools, elementary schools, and moms groups to talk with children about dental care. Dr. Mahajan has developed her own presentation that is geared to the childrens ages. We bring bags of dental goodies and fun educational videos and have a wonderful time interacting and educating the children.
Dr. Jila Mahajan is a certified pediatric dentist with extensive training in sedation dentistry, and dentistry for infants, children, and special needs patients. She is dedicated to providing quality comprehensive dental care and friendly personalized service for all children.
Practicing in the Jacksonville area since 2001, Dr. Mahajan earned her undergraduate degree from George Washington University and received a Doctorate of Dental Science from Columbia University's College of Dental Medicine. Dr. Mahajan then completed a two-year residency in pediatric dentistry at the Medical College of Virginia. To further her training, Dr. Mahajan trained in conscious patient management with IV sedation at the Montefiore Medical Center.
Dr. Mahajan keeps up-to-date with the latest technology in pediatric dentistry and maintains membership in the American Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, Jacksonville Dental Society, The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, and the Florida Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.

I have not been here I just need to say they do not accept Medicaid and it saddens me I want to make sure people know when they look you up instead of feeling ashamed by the way the receptionist responds to your insurance when you say it..

My kids and I love it here. Dr Mahajan and her entire staff is the best. We have been apart of this dental family for years now, the entire dental staff is sweet, loving, kind and very kid friendly, I highly recommend this dental office for your little ones.

I've been bringing my kids here for the past three years now . It was excellent at first but here lately I'm unable to get any answers on the phone trying to reschedule appointments but they are quick to send me letters . I've left voicemails and I never get returned phone calls . I absolutely love the staff and the dentist but I can NEVER get any one on the phone and it's really starting to make me want to change offices which I would really hate to do .

Dr. Jila Mahajan and all the staff at Kids First Dentistry are so warm and welcoming! My kids are always happy to go for their appointments. The staff are gentle with the kids. We are very happy with the care they provide to our children.

My children have been patients here for a few of years. They aren't anymore. The front desk staff is rude, disrespectful and unaccommodating. I tried to call (well in advance) to change an appointment. You can't get anyone on the phone. I left several messages over several days before I got a call back. The staff member that called was not only unfriendly, but ridiculed my request for a 4 pm appointment after I explained that one of my children has a chronic medical condition and I'd like to avoid her missing school because she misses a lot for appointments and treatments (this is the appointment time slot we've done for years with no issues). The billing out of this practice is also a mess. Late, incorrect, etc. I reached out through the business' website contact form with my concerns some time ago (weeks ago). No response. Honestly, I should've left the practice years ago after the doctor and hygienists made insensitive comments about build up on my child's teeth. The child left in tears and is now scared to return, fearful she will be embarrassed by staff again. Like all the other reviews, I'm sure this one will get a response hiding behind HIPAA and patient confidentiality. If that were actually the case, they would've responded to my private email voicing my concerns.

This was a good experience. I take all of my kids here (1yr old, 3 yr old, 10 yr old.) Mrs. Kat took care of my 1 year old. This was a first visit for my 1 yr old. She was scared and cried. Mrs. Kat actually sung to my 1 yr old to try and calm her. Not only did was she gentle and reassuring but she was able to get the job done quickly. I really appreciated her patience and how nice she was. Mrs. Chiquita was amazing! She took care of my 3 year old. She constantly told my 3 yr old how well she was doing and clearly explained her next steps so that my 3 yr old could understand what was happening next. She made my 3 yr old very comfortable. I appreciate her happy spirit and patience as well. They had my 10 year old in a separate room. However, he said that his experience was good. He liked it a lot and can't wait for the next visit, which is awesome. Usually kids don't like the dentist too much besides the toothbrush/gifts. My kids on the other hand love it. I didn't have any problems with anything. Maybe next time I will ask to keep the kids in the same area. Other than that they get you in and out. I would recommend this dentist.

I've taken my girls here for awhile now, and the experience is never good. The ladies cleaning my two daughters teeth were very unsocial with me.. barely said anything to me while I'm sitting there. They were too busy talking with one another about what they were going to do after work. Then the dentist comes in and tells me that my 14 year old was going to have to start being seen at an adult dentist office because she was experiencing some TMJ with her jaw. That she was not going to deal with adult problems at her office. My daughter is 14 and should not be made to go to an adult office. So after I gave them a review of 3 stars they call me wanting to know why. I didn't bother with giving them an explanation.. after all, 3 was better than no stars. Anyway, I just received a letter from the dentist saying that my kids would be better served at another Dentist office, that after 30 days they will not see my kids again. That's fine with me. I planned on taking my kids somewhere else the day we left your office. You deserve 0 stars!!!

This has been a nightmare!! If you are military personnel or a veteran please DO NOT SERVICE THIS BUSINESS. Update: Someone reopened up a claim from 2018 for my son when they were supposed to charge a visit from 2020. They submitted the claim to be paid AGAIN and it was denied (naturally because my insurance company already paid it and I also have changed insurance companies since then) I sent proof of the mistake to their office twice and eventually they decided to stop replying without rectifying the situation. How is this fair or professional? I regret ever taking my children to this dentist office. Background info: 2020 Dentist visit.... 2021 comes and they inform me that I owe a payment for my son's dental visit. I'm confused because I know for sure the cleaning was covered with my insurance. I discussed this with them and asked them to file the correct insurance. They didn't send letters, call, or email for an entire year after our phone call! I assumed they resolved the issue. Now a year later I receive threatening calls from their debt collection agency stating that I owe money and I need to pay because now it's been filed on my credit report. I would also like to note that before it was filed on my credit report I attempted to discuss the matter with Christine, the office manager, but she did not follow up with me after Spring Break as promised. My goal was to prevent this from happening. I did everything in my power to assist with a resolution even with me not being at fault for this issue. I am still baffled how I, someone who has always been covered by military affiliated insurance, am being punished for a dentist office's mistake. I am not responsible for filing insurance claims. This entire process has been very stressful. Please avoid this type of stress if you can. Military life is stressful enough. You don't want to be in the middle of a PCS being harassed to pay. Go to a dentist office that can properly submit insurance claims. You deserve better treatment than this. This is not okay.

My daughter is 2.5 yo and loves going to the dentist because of the environment here. They're professional, fast, and it's perfect for little kids. It's a huge relief to know that she won't be anxious. I'll be bringing my son when he teeths. Shout-out to Amber for making our first cleaning a smooth ride and a fun experience!
