At Kids First Dental in Roanoke, VA, we take pride in giving our patients compassionate and comprehensive care. We strive to do everything in our power to ensure each of our visitors receives treatment that is effective, affordable, comfortable, and efficient. This means we offer a broad range of services and procedures to accommodate people of different ages and backgrounds.
Our first Kids First Dental office was established in 2008, almost 12 years ago. Since then, we have continued in our mission to provide some of the best care in the state to our numerous patients and their families. All of our providers possess years of experience and further education to ensure they remain up to date with the latest treatments and technologies. Just because our dental care is affordable doesnt mean it cant also be high-tech and accessible.
We did not name our office Kids First Dental for no reason. It is an essential component of our practices philosophy, which is to provide a good experience for children. Many people often avoid going to the dentist as adults because of the negative experiences they had when they were young. By having a comfortable office, friendly staff, and efficient treatment, we hope to make every childs visit to the dentist a positive one.
To encourage children to be more involved in their own dental care, we also include a few special elements in our office. These include an area for kids to play, as well as a no cavity club where kids can have their pictures hung on the billboard when they have a cavity-free visit.
Kids First Dental wants to bridge the gap between excellent care, excellent service, and excellent prices. To do so, we offer numerous in-network options for most commercial private insurance and group plans. We also accept state Medicaid and care credit financing.

If I could give this place LESS than 1 star I WOULD!! A THREE HOUR WAIT is RIDICULOUS all because they allowed some trashy woman come in at nearly 4pm when her appt time was 145pm and let her go in front of everyone else that had been waiting!! She kept coming up with LIES to be seen until she said she drove over an hour to get there, MEANING she didn't even leave her house until AFTER her appointment time!!!! But still allowed her kids to be seen above anyone else's who had already been waiting the VERY LONG WAIT to be seen. YOU SHOULD HE ASHAMED OF YOURSELVES!!

There are always things that can come up with any office such as emergency issues or cancelations due to COVID but I have found that they are very helpful with addressing any needs that have come up with my kids. The ladies at the front desk are very nice and patient.

I love this dental office!! My kids love it!! And that's all that matters to me. They were amazing. The staff are friendly as soon as we walked in the door. When it was time to sit in the chair, they made my child smile and feel comfortable about being there. As soon as we left, my child says, "Mom, can we come back here again"? Of course I laughed and told her we will be back in 3 days to do another filling. She just screamed, yessss!! Honestly, what child is happy to go back to a dentist office and have a filling done. Mine!! And the staff did that. Thank you so much Kids First Dental for making my child happy. And it was a pleasure visiting this office. I won't be leaving anytime soon. Keep up the great work. Your doing an amazing job!

Best dentist for kids! My daughter absolutely loves it here and even said she was upset all of her cavities were fixed because she would miss the staff.

This place went downhill Since Gabrielle no longer operates. They will call you while you're at work and cancel your appointment without confirming with you.although you have every intention to show up and call out from work to make sure your kid makes their appointments. No where in their policy does that mention cancellations if you can't return their calls. They will cancel just to fill in your spot for someone else to come in.

Not only did they go over and beyond to take care of my son, but the nurse Joy helped me get an appointment for my dental care! This is the best place to bring your child! Do not listen to these petty comments about this place! I've been bringing my son here since he was 2 and he is now 5! Love love love the staff and I will always bring him here!

Every appointment I attend with my pre teen stepson he's treated with top notch care fast friendly and most importantly thorough care each appointment whether it's fillings or cleanings im always so very impressed with all the staff here and the care he receives!! Not to mention how happy I was his last filling appointment he didn't receive a bunch of scary Novocain shots to numb him only harmless laughing gas! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Today was my daughter's first appointment with Dr. Cris and her hygienist (I'm sorry, I forgot her name). They were absolutely wonderful! And the front desk ladies were wonderful as well! My daughter has 'white coat syndrome' when it comes to dentists (as do I), but today I didn't see the first sign of that. So thank you all for being awesome! :)

The Worst Dental Clinic in the Roanoke Valley. My children have been discriminated against at this place more than once. So unprofessional, they changed employees several times a year. It always someone different and difficult. I was aware of their policy and they didn't like that. As of 3/15/2022 my 3 children will be relocating due to the disrespect over the phone from the receptionist and constantly discrimination.

Most of the hygienists are great, with the exception of the one that ignored when I told her about the trauma to my 2 year olds mouth and she shoved a toothbrush in there without looking, causing my child to bleed and scream. But the dentist is so rude and obnoxious that my 12 year old now has horrible anxiety with dentists and refused to ever go back there. I still had my 6 year old going because she is in the middle of a treatment plan, but the dentist was so rude and condescending last time that we won't be back. In the handful of appointments we've had there, all but one has had to be rescheduled on their end. If you can't take the new appointment they call you with, then you have to wait 6 months for another appointment when you've already waited months for the appointment they're rescheduling! The dentist makes it clear that she is doing you a servie by seeing your children, and she will do whatever she wants and treat everyone as though they are beneath her because she takes Medicaid. This is what we provide for our most vulnerable, the bottom of the barrel care. I wouldn't send my worst enemy here.

I think the staff is great. I felt so bad for them because some lady was being very nasty. They didn't deserve that! As a former server, I completely understand being understaffed and busy. Some people need to learn some manners especially in front of their children. Keep up the great work y'all!!
