In May of 2008, over ten years ago, we established Kids First Dental. With our convenient location in Greenwood, South Carolina, weve provided an endless number of families with top-notch care. The name Kids First Dental is deliberate, as it is the whole concept of our care. It begins not with the care itself, but the approach to children and their parents. From the moment you walk through our doors, you will notice the warm ambiance and friendly atmosphere that makes Kids First Dental different. From our carefully chosen staff to unheard of amenities, we want our practice to feel like home. Thats why we even created an arcade room. And we dont feel these benefits should belong only to English-speakers, which is why our staff speaks fluent Spanish.
Of course, quality service demands quality procedures. We derive our satisfaction from providing for all of your familys needs on the same day, if we can. We provide a multi-service practice that provides the spectrum of pediatric and adult services for general dentistry, pediatric care, root canals, and oral surgery. Specializations such as whitening, tooth colored fillings for restorative dentistry, and child and adult porcelain crowns and bridges are all available. We are your single destination for oral health. We even extend our hospital services to young children below 6 years of age.

Sheila Gonzalez joins the Kids First Dental & Braces team with over 20 years of management & clinical experience. Sheila grew up in Ninety-Six and recently returned to her roots to work with a community she loves and to be close to family.
Working in the community I grew up in and being able to provide quality dental care to children is incredibly satisfying. I am thrilled to join this terrific team and cant wait to see familiar faces when our patients visit!
Sheilas innate organizational management and leadership abilities were honed by 12 years in the US Navy, followed by over eight years in the medical field as a practice manager, including five years of social work. Not being one to sit in her office, Sheila can frequently be found in the practice, chatting with patients, and assisting her teams with patient care.
Did you know that Dr. John Patangan serves in the US Navy Reserves? While hes in the office, hes making sure that kids are staying on top of their oral health. Outside of Kids First Dental, he serves our country proudly preserving the oral health of the sailors and service members of the United States military. Because of his military service, Dr. Patangan has traveled the world over from Spain to Japan. If you get the chance, you can ask him what country was his most favorite of them all.
A native of Jacksonville, Florida, Dr. Patangan graduated from the University of Florida. Later, he attended dental school at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts. Later on, he received his education in Pediatric Dentistry at Indiana University School of Dentistry.

Kids first dental is the worst dentist I ever been too! The manager Ashley is horrible she very rude and very unclean! The lobby is dirty and we sat for hours and when it was time to go back we still sat for 45more minutes.. Dr.Jones is very rude and have poor beside manner. The office just needs to be shut down, We received server calls about my children appointments keep being change! DONT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING THERE!! The dentist assistant don't change out their gloves after touching everything !!!

Great dental care, but very long wait times. Our appointment was at 1030 and we didn't see the hygienist until 1115. Then we had the hour long appointment.

We love Kids First Dental! The staff is great and they always do their best to make my kid feel safe and comfortable. The rooms are decorated so cute with cartoons and they provide plenty of space for parents to sit and keep an eye on their kid. We love chatting with the staff during the visit. Everyone is so friendly!

We are always in and out very fast! Dental hygienist was patient, and explained everything they were doing! Very good experience!

They're very unprofessional. They pick and choose who the dentist comes in and goes over their X-rays regardless if you've been sitting there waiting over 20 minutes before the other patient even came in to get X-rays. Waited 20 minutes today for my disabled daughters X-rays to be looked at, while waiting another patient came in and got a cleaning and then went and got X-rays, while we still waited. Once the dentist came in she went right to the other patient who was there maybe 15 minutes instead of us who were there first and had been waiting for awhile for her to come. This isn't the first time this happened. The dental assistants don't even speak up and advocate for patients by letting the dentist know who was first! Will definitely be looking for another dentistry for my children!

Biggest joke in Greenwood! My son's appointment was canceled but I did not call within an hour and a half to confirm an appointment. They called me at 2:21pm the day before his appointment and told be I had until 4pm to confirm. I was at work and in a meeting and couldn't call before they closed! So because I work my son suffers? Absolutely insane!

We absolutely love kids first dental. They have went above and beyond to make sure my children have great smiles and healthy gums/teeth. I can't tell them "thank you" enough. We're forever grateful for this dentist fixing everything a previous negligent dentist purposely overlooked. So, to the staff there now, dental and orthodontics, thank you for everything!!! You're ALL amazing human beings and I hope life treats you just as kind as you have treated my family:)
