***I decided to change my review a little. I still stand by my experience, however the dentist did speak to my personally after I came back later in the morning for my son's appointment. I do think the dentists tries their best for patient services, but perhaps better business practices would be to not push services on them.*** I did not have a good experience. I was going to Greenwood Family Dentistry, but didn't want to make the 30-minute drive anymore, and this place was about 5-minutes away from me. I personally felt I was being upcharged on services I didn't need. I have Tricare, which is the military insurance. On the date of my appointment, the front office staff was late to work. A woman at the front office came to me with a bill for $85. I told her I've been to many dentist in many different states, and Tricare does not charge for cleanings and checkups. She told me something like it was for a "deep cleaning", and then said to me she didn't understand what I was trying to tell her. So I told her flatly, I'm not paying for anything that my insurance isn't paying for in my checkup and cleaning, and I wrote that in script on the "treatment plan" she gave me. The dentist did come back to do a basic cleaning though. Now, I will say that after the dentist spoke to me privately, I did feel that the dentist tries her best with her patients - however, I thought it was very awkward for a front office staff to be coming up to me with a bill, while I was laying on a dental exam bed. However, I did come back later in the morning for my son, because my experience with the dentist wasn't necessarily bad. I think perhaps they were surprised I returned with my son, because I did leave a negative review. The dentist explained her perspective to my review, which is why I changed my review to better explain what my experience was like. It wasn't the dentist's work that I had a bad experience with, but I did feel that I was given a "treatment plan" that I didnt need, and that someone who was not more knowledgeable of their insurance would have probably fallen for whatever bill was presented to them. The same front desk woman asked me to pay for my son's treatment plan for that visit, which was about $115. I paid, but the dentist was only able to do one filling; but what I paid for was one filling and two crowns. The dentist gave me a referral to a dental hospital where my son could be put under sedation and just have everything taken care of in one visit. Truthfully, that would have been a great option from the start, but I already paid them $115, and I really did not trust that I would get a refund. Afterwards, I told my husband what happened, and he had an equally bad experience. My husband is active duty, and Tricare does not allow the active duty service members to be charged for any services, but you need pre-authorization for all services first. If you have Tricare, the office staff does not seem to know what they're doing. He had a headache with trying to have a root canal because the office staff didn't seem to know what to do with pre-authorizations, and my husband told them the same thing, that he's not paying for anything that Tricare doesn't cover (especially since he's the active duty service member). I will say, that I think the office staff is more comfortable with Medicaid billing than they are for private insurances, especially for Tricare, and I suspect most of their patients are probably Medicaid patients. I will complete the treatment plan for my son that I already paid for, but I decided to go back to our original dentist in Greenwood while we're stationed in Indiana.

Absolutely love this dental office. So much so that our family is switching everyone here. After taking our 8 year old daughter else where, my husband and I wasn't impressed and decided we wanted a second opinion so we came to Kids & Adult Dental here in Franklin. Immediately we were greeted by the wonderful office staff ( which is a big deal because they set the first impression)! We then met with the staff in the back and the dentist and they were absolutely phenomenal with our daughter. You could really tell they are an amazing team and get along which definitely shows. Today she went to have her work done and not a tear was shed. She was actually smiling! We Highly recommended this dental office, not only for the kids but adults as well! Thank you to the staff and the dentist for their amazing skills, attention, understanding, professionalism and just their down to earth atmosphere . You can truly tell they all love their jobs

I just had my first (but not last) visit here. I had suffered 2 weeks of an exposed nerve. So despite my dentist anxiety, I called them and begged for help. They got me in quickly and the people at the front desk were polite and efficient, putting me at ease immediately. And everyone I dealt with throughout the whole appt, from x-rays to surgical extraction, were kind and even took the time to explain things to me and answer my many questions. (Yes, I said many. I am not the easiest of patients.) During the extraction, if I so much as moved my hands, they would give another shot of numbing goodness. Then when they were sure it had kicked in, they went about their work. I had a truly positive experience here. They will now be my family dentist. After relieving me of that mean old wisdom tooth, they have a fan in me for a long, long time. (I will update this after my children are seen here for the kids' experience.) They have a playroom with toys and brightly painted walls to minimize any anxieties or loss of patience for the kids while waiting. And I saw a treasure chest of small toys on my way out, which already helped me talk my kids into going soon and without tears Thank you so much Kids & Adult Dental Care!!
