First, clean around the sore tooth carefully. Using warm salt water, rinse the mouth to clear and food trapped between the teeth.UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCESshould you use aspirin on the aching tooth or gum. In case of facial swelling, apply a cold compress to the area, Acetaminophen or Ibuprofen is recommended in the event of facial swelling.Come in to see is as soon as possible. Facial swelling may be a sign of an abscess and a potentially life-threatening oral facial infection. Typically, once the source of the infection is removed (usually the affected tooth), the infection should subside.

Apply ice to any bruises. In the case of bleeding, apply firm, gentle pressure with sterile gauze or a clean cloth. If pressure does not stop the bleeding, or if bleeding persists after 15 minutes, please contact us or visit the emergency room.

Only remove a broken appliance if it comes out easily. If it is lodged or painful to remove, cover any protruding or sharp edges with wax, cotton balls, gauze or gum.DO NOT REMOVEany wire lodged in the gums, cheek or tongue; see us immediately. Typically, emergency attention is not required for loose or broken appliances that cause no pain or discomfort.

Rinse the area with warm water. Put a cold compress over the facial area of the injury. Recover any broken tooth fragments. Get immediate dental attention from any of our specially trained kid dentists.

Recover the tooth, if possible, making sure to hold it by the crown (top) and not the root end. Rinse, but do not clean or handle the tooth more than necessary. Reinsert the tooth in the socket and hold it in place using a clean piece of gauze or cloth. If the tooth cannot be reinserted, carry it in a cup containing the patients saliva or milk.Water is less favorable than milk but better than letting the tooth dry out. Because time is essential, see us immediately. Baby teeth that are knocked out prematurely do not need to be reinserted and harm may be caused to the underlying permanent teeth by so doing.

Every child is unique and different, so the x-rays needed for one child may be different for another child of the same age. However, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, as well as the American Dental Association recommend that children have x-rays taken by age 3 or 4 to evaluate growth and development. This may involve taking one x-ray of the upper front teeth and one of the lower front teeth, as well as one on each side, depending on how many teeth a child has. X-rays of upper and lower teeth do not need to be taken again at each check-up, unless the child has had trauma to a front tooth. X-rays of back teeth should be taken at a minimum of once/ year if the back molars are touching each other. The sides of these teeth cannot be visualized with a dental exam, and often the only way to identify decay is with an x-ray. Decay damages childrens teeth at a faster rate than permanent teeth, and when untreated can cause severe infection.

Took my son for his first dentist visit and can truly say it was an amazing experience. From front desk being so polite and friendly, dental hygienist was so gentle when cleaning his teeth , soft spoken, and answered all my questions. The dentist was so nice and gently when treating my 1 year old son !! We loved it and already scheduled our follow-up appointment . My son enjoyed seeing all the colorful animals around the office .

Horrible, unfriendly staff and very long wait times. We have come several times over the past couple years only because it's close to home. I have a 3 year old with a disability and he cannot wait extended periods of time. A recent visit, we came for a routine checkup/cleaning and we ended up waiting 40 minutes for the dentist to see him, this is after he had to endure a cleaning which was already traumatic for him. Basically cried through the wait while I'm frantically trying to rock him and walk around our exam room to calm him down! He then had a follow up visit to get a silver fluoride treatment for a potential cavity, something that takes 2 minutes. We ended up waiting 40+ minutes for that! The staff and dentists are very young, and likely none have children so don't expect any sympathy from them, lots of eye rolls and snickers. You can be standing right in front of them and they will just ignore you! If you have sensitive little ones or children with special needs, do not come here!

I have been trying to get in touch with this facility for a month and there is zero follow-up and when I call (multiple attempts) they just put you on hold without even saying hello. Really a shame as I'm sure the dentists are great but the customer experience (before I even was welcomed through the door) was awful. We will be going elsewhere.

They sure have a way to make it a fun experience and know exactly how to speak to children to make it a nice experience . Found out about this place about 3 years ago after a regular dentist had no patience to deal with my boys who were not easily persuaded to sit and be examined! They are friendly, patient and the kid friendly jungle feel in the office sets them apart! I have already recommended other families .

I really like the dentists that have seen my children however, the administrative and schedulers are extremely sloppy! On two occasions they have messed up my children's schedule by canceling their appointment last minute and just recently when the last appointment was made six months out. On the day of the appointment when we were on our way they claim they tried to leave a message before, which is a big lie because my voice mail is not full they told me ohhh we no longer take your insurance. You had several weeks to inform me of this why would you wait until the day of the appointment 15 minutes before to inform a patient of that and have the nerve to say oh its 300 per child out of pocket! Very inconsiderate and very sloppy. Please get on top of your appointments people's times are valuable. This is JUST NOT ACCEPTABLE!

If you are at all concerned about the financial cost of taking your child to a dentist, then you should exercise caution before coming here because the services are expensive and there is no up-front explanation about how much anything will cost until after the procedure is over. My son went in for a routine exam and cleaning but was given x-rays and fluoride treatments without anyone telling me that these would add $200 to my bill. I should have been asked first and informed about the costs. In addition, the cleaning and exam cost $236, which is several times higher than what my longtime dentist had charged for my son's routine care. While my insurance paid a portion of these costs, everyone should beware of the "list prices" of these services since dental insurance doesn't always pay for everything. If money is no object, then it may not matter. But for families on a budget, or with several kids, you should be aware of the costs and the opacity of how they are applied. I only received an itemized bill after I expressed shock at the cost. The administrative assistant gave it to me, but she was unable to fully explain the charges. Fortunately, I have decades of experience reading medical and dental bills so I was able to understand it. But if you do not, you should not expect help understanding your bill and why it may cost so much. At the end of the day, we got good service, but it was not anything above and beyond what my usual dentist would have provided for my son for substantially less money. So I urge parents to consider this before just walking in the door and assuming that Kidsmile's pricing and cost transparency will be similar to other dentistry operations. I was naive, and as a result I paid hundreds of dollars for it. But maybe you won't have to if you ask the questions I failed to before your child is in that chair. Assume that nothing is included, and they will charge you separately for absolutely everything. And if you are on a budget, or have several kids to take care of, you should shop around. It isn't worth paying this kind of money just for the chocolate toothpaste and the cartoons playing above the dental chairs. In addition to this, after I offered them polite feedback privately via a webform, I was called back by someone at their central office in Long Island who was very condescending to me and decided to lecture me about dental billing instead of more tactfully responding to my concerns. I don't understand why they even bothered if the goal was to get me and my son back in their office. It was almost as if she was spoiling for a fight.

My daughter was referred here because she had cavities and I could not have been happier with the experience! From the time we walked in until the time we left, everyone was so friendly and couldn't have been nicer(front desk and billing included) My daughter was obviously super nervous but Beverly and Dr. Marisa were so attentive and genuine that it just put her at ease! If your child is nervous to go to the Dentist, this is the place to bring them!

Today was our first visit and I was super pleased with our experience! Rachel cleaned both of my kids teeth and she was very friendly, she walked my children through everything that she was doing and reassured them that they were okay. Both of my kids were happy and not afraid as children tend to be! We've found our new permanent pediatric dental office I definitely recommend this place for children.
